To me I think the person to be blamed the most for the end of what could've been a dynasty still as the 2000s entered is the owner Jerry Reinsdorf. He gave all of the power to Jerry Krause to do what he pleases to which Jerry Reinsdorf could've stepped in and fix all of the issues knowing the Bulls could've been still successful if MJ, Pip, Rodman and Phil stayed. Rodman was heading into his twilight years yes, but look at his stats when he joined the lakers. Rodman was still grabbing double digit rebounds consistently and when Pippen went to Portland after his stint with Houston, he helped them reach the conference finals and no doubt MJ would still be in his best shape cause he is MJ the 🐐. The owner for me is much to be blamed with the GM having partially to be blamed
Yeah but in other sports they have a much smaller role. Basketball is a 12 man team, football is a 75 man team and is baseball each player plays a unique role and are therefore all pretty evenly important. In baseball and football one or two good players won’t do it for you. You have to mold a team together based on skill sets and have a strategy

At one point Jordan was getting 12 time the salary of Pippen. Unbelievable.

When Pippen wasn't allowed to have a replica of the 1991 NBA Finals trophy, that told me everything I needed to know about Jerry Krause. Too many mind games.
@@ivanfranceschi9139 it depends who the bulls big were, Rodman would have been a problem for old David Robinson. No one on Spurs was stopping MJ even at 36 years old. Pippen was still very good in 1999-2000. That 99'Knicks team stayed very competitive all 5 games against the Spurs without Ewing.
Bro after the last dance ended, i’m in real need of a Kobe-Shaq three-peat docu-series. There would be so much content. Plus we get to see phil jackson build another all time team while jerry krause was still ‘rebuilding’
are you surprised the team has stayed together an the chemistry has been this good with all the backstabbing going on between u an coach? There's no backstabbing going on here you understand me?! Way to go Craig 👏😂
organizations have a hand in putting up team players, but Krause's problem is that he micromanaged the Bulls which is not good. For him to lockhorns with MJ, dismiss Pippen, and cross Phil Jackson that was personal to him and it led to his undoing. The most important question there is where was Krause with the Chicago Bulls now after MJ left?
It’s interesting that we’re still talking about this bulls team 20+ years later. Ppl say let’s not live in the past. Yet if we still talk about this team and it’s players, you know (if you saw them back then) how special they were. Anyone who didn’t see them play or young enough to know (UA-cam videos don’t count) how special that team was, missed out something special. The nbc coverage and commercials and newspapers headlines. It’s not overhyped like today’s watered down game where you can’t touch anybody and everyone so sensitive. It was such An amazing time for basketball back then. If you say basketball now is better then you’re out of your mind.
Had the Bulls stayed together they would have won the 99 championship because that was a shortened season. Great first 2 episodes last night. MJ smoking cigars and drinking a glass of bourbon was epic. He's so cool. MJ and Pippen wasn't a Batman and Robin duo. It was basically Batman and another Batman on the same team.
It's worth noting that only two GMs ever managed to replace a championship-winning franchise player to win another title - namely Red Auerbach and Jerry West. Krause is third in championships won as GM after these two. It really is hard work. The fact that Krause even got this far is worth getting credit for.
Breaking up the Bulls Dynasty prematurely was a travesty. You have the greatest player of all time, arguably the greatest coach of all time, and an outstanding team that just three-peated. Yet the front office is determined to break things up because they want to rebuild. Ridiculous. The Bulls had a great chance to win in 1999, and perhaps even in 2000. At the very least, keep them together until they fail to win a championship.
This always happens in Sports. Successful athletes want successful paychecks and successful teams want successful earnings and nobody wants to compromise so the success suffers. It happened to the 49ers, Patriots, Yankees, Red Sox, Athletics, Lakers, Real Madrird, etc.
If you had a 35 year old MJ or Jerry Krause to choose between moving forward with as a franchise (even if you only had MJ for 2 more years) I’m saying Bye Jerry 👋
Reinsdorf should of restructured Pippens deal after 3 years and it would of panned out differently. You see restructured deals All the time and Pippen is a player worth doing that for.
Jerry Krause is the greatest gm ever he is the one who made it all possible without his moved there is no 6 championships at all for the bulls fanbase to see when they walk in that United center Jordan was not the reason he was one of the reasons
Best explanation in clip here was JKs baseball GM thinking and acting like it could have transitioned the same in BB where players really steer the team’s success longer term.
Maybe I haven’t been watching these debate shows long enough, but I’ve never heard them talk about the downfall of the Bull’s dynasty. I honestly thought it had more to do with age than the beef phil and the players had with Krause. They’ve had to have brought this topic up before. I would have expected Stephen A to have knowledge on it before this doc came out last night. Is it possible they didn’t even know how bad the rift with the front office was? Because everyone acts like they just found out
he gets credit for destroying a dynasty. I don't care if you can put a great team together. The coaches and the players are the ones who do the hard work. If being successful is not enough for you to be happy, you're a small person.
Meh he had a point though obviously players go a long way In winning championships but from a gms perspective a player can be as good as anyone but cant win unless the organisation puts the right players around them. Would the warriors have won 3 championships if management hadn't put the players together and just had curry by himself?
Organizations win Chips in baseball. Theres a reason why the Yankees are the most successful franchise in the hostory of sports. They were one of the first teams i believe to start scouting across the country and down south instead of grabbing players from their immediate market. If the Yankees dont formulate superteams through scouting most of those players wouldnt be nearly as successful.
We need to learn the feelings of each other to full-fill the good faith and giving each other especially to love each other. That is the key of success to get the titles....
And that organization has been haunted by Jordan and Pippen’s ghost every since. Haven’t sniffed a championship since then. Jay will and D Rose got hurt.. God does not like ugly at all.

Major difference between the two. Dolan meddles too often and too much whereas Reinsdorf is the opposite. Both equally bad. There should be a balance.
I don’t see why everyone hates Dolan? He stays outta they way more or less and leaves basketball to the President and GM, he’s gone into the luxury tax to sign players and even when it’s a bad contract like Joakim Noah. People say the porzingis situation but Phil jackson was the one that soured that relationship and Dolan tried to mend things wit KP but it was 2 late cuz he wanted out but he gave him what he wanted and traded him. Maybe there’s somethin I’m missin but I don’t see how he’s the worst owner in sports🤷🏽♂️
More Skittles he worse he just had mj to make them look good even 20 years after he stopped playing 😳
@@jaithen29 Dolan IS the worst owner in sports. Knicks fan talking here. The way he’s created a toxic losing culture at MSG is the reason why top level free agents want nothing to do with the Knicks. Especially now that Brooklyn is in the same city and can offer more.
@@Jeff_Pryce idk man, as a Knicks fan, Dolan seems to have stopped meddling and just let the President/GM do their job at least in the last decade. Of course there have been a lot of bad hires but they genuinely have a great front office and culture now. Steve Mills was a big part of why the Knicks were so bad this past decade.
'i dont feel bad for jerry because of the short jokes....those are funny' - Max Kellerman
Cmon bruh
Its 2020 and he's white. Suspension or firing coming soon?
@@riuqpijfkdls yeah, sucks to be put upon because of your race🙄
Back when players actually cared about building teams and not just their egos
What?
Life humbles EVERYONE. Even the invincible. The moment you believe you can "walk on water," it's all over.
80s-90s had Jerry Krause and Jerry Heller
Jerry reinsdorf the bulls owner too, I don’t trust Jerry’s now 🤣
Moral of the story: don’t trust old fat ****s named Jerry
Don't Forget Jerry Jones😏
Jerry Buss

Jerry Buss greatest sports owner ever kid!
The mind blowing fact that space jam is loosely based on Krause is crazy
Here after the bulls fan booed Jerry Krause at the ceremony
Max Kellerman, the last time I checked, the athletes in every professional sport win championships not management.
Why can’t Stephen A. say “MJ” normally?
Justin Sullivan M....JAY

Felt same conflict with Jimmy Johnson and Jerry Jones
Agreed
Chrollo134 can you please elaborate? What’s the story behind those two
@@broham89 Jerry Jones didn't like how Jimmy was getting all the credit for the Cowboys winning thoses superbowls, I think he made comments about that to the media. Thus putting a strain on his relationship with Jimmy, so Jimmy quit as head coach and the Cowboys like the Bulls haven't been back to the Superbowl or the Finals
@@broham89 too lazy to google search LMFAOO, if you were old enough, how did you survived pre-1994 when it came to getting information, can't imagine you knew what a library was 💩💩💩
@@MrJimmy3459 To be fair, the Cowboys did win another Super in 1995 with Barry Switzer. Agree with the rest, though.
The entire time I was just wondering why the owner didnt do anything about Jerry, if it was anyone else Jerry would have been fired
And he could have easily renegotiated the Pippen contract, after all he was the one paying for it but he was happy he got Pippen for cheap and he washed his hands clean of that too and blamed it on Krause. There were also salary cap restrictions that complicated the issue. Jordan could have taken a pay cut so Pippen could have had a better contract but MJ did no such thing. At one point Jordan was getting 12 time the salary of Pippen. Unbelievable.
@@Romans8-9 Meh, he was probably executing Reinsdorf's private plans while being discreet about it and taking the heat. He seems like a company man that knows his function is over his head, his normal car is an indication of that, if he really was a napoleon syndrome guy he would have driven a more exotic car to keep up with the players
Jerry krause the new carol baskin?😂😂
krause & reinsdorf go down in sports infamy as the front office that ended it's own dynasty & hastened the'90's best team & the NBA's best player ever to leave Chicago while they were still on top!
It's possible to be a great talent evaluator while also being a lousy manager and leader of people. Krause is one such example.
When Pippen wasn't allowed to have a replica of the 1991 NBA Finals trophy, that told me everything I needed to know about Jerry Krause. Too many mind games.
The Bulls could’ve literally won 10 chips straight...think about that
DreDaGr8$ nah. Jordan said the team was fading after 93
All American Man 9 only losing maybe to the 95 rockets
No
Nope. The Spurs wouldn't have let that happen.
No wonder MJ called Krause “crumbs” he let his ego get the best of himself
Marcus Sewell mj let his dad get clapped
He was called that for his bad table manners. And Jordan should be the last guy to call someone out for their ego.
Jerry Krause: “I can end a dynasty way before it had to end.”
Jerry Jones (Dallas Cowboys): “Hold my beer🍺!!!”
So many Jerrys
It's a shame people don't know that Krause was the one who built ALL the pieces, including Jackson, around MJ.
are you surprised the team has stayed together an the chemistry has been this good with all the backstabbing going on between u an coach?
There's no backstabbing going on here you understand me?!
Way to go Craig 👏😂
organizations have a hand in putting up team players, but Krause's problem is that he micromanaged the Bulls which is not good. For him to lockhorns with MJ, dismiss Pippen, and cross Phil Jackson that was personal to him and it led to his undoing. The most important question there is where was Krause with the Chicago Bulls now after MJ left?
I dont feel bad but I never disrespect and always appreciate him for building the Bulls dynasty for my hometown
Stephen "Em Jay" Smith
Argentina Mafia beat me to it 😂
It’s interesting that we’re still talking about this bulls team 20+ years later.
Please stop putting Jay Williams on the show
Dude is the biggest KD Dee rider
He had the best take tho. Nobody is talking about the owner allowing Jerry to mess up the bulls
He knew Jerry Krause though. Unlike everyone else
Scottie Pippen was slept on
The GM will always defer to the owner... He is a mere employee.
Krause and reinstorf were deffo bumming on the sly. Only way it makes sense
what makes sense is reisdorf being a cheap SOB and letting Krause take the bullets and arrows
Reinsdorf is anti labor unions. I bet he is cheap
Who's here after he was booed at the Bulls Ring Of Honor ?
Me.
me! and for me his wife should know what to expect since crumbs always got booed even during the 90s...
Exactly Andrew.
if you have MJ in your team, my grandson can recruit anyone you need.
Wow for once I agree with max... talking about how coaches win for nfl, gm’s win for mlb and the players win for NBA... well said max well said
It's worth noting that only two GMs ever managed to replace a championship-winning franchise player to win another title - namely Red Auerbach and Jerry West. Krause is third in championships won as GM after these two. It really is hard work. The fact that Krause even got this far is worth getting credit for.
I love how the entire episode was everyone shitting on Krause 😂
After more than 20 years..indeed..the bulls ..is the GOAT... Greatest Of All Teams...
Being a Bad Boy Piston fan, thanks Jerry. Did he thank the NBA for the "Jordan" rules where if you even breathed on mj they would call a foul.
Reinsdorf should of restructured Pippens deal after 3 years and it would of panned out differently. You see restructured deals All the time and Pippen is a player worth doing that for.
He brought it on himself. He failed miserably after MJ left.
He drafted a bunch of players that had very good NBA careers. Just not on the Bulls.
@@Tolstoy111 Yeah well, very good NBA careers brought no titles to Chicago. That's the ultimate goal and job of the GM.
Just like Pippen
@C D but not the A listers
He chased him out the door.
Jerry Krause is the greatest gm ever he is the one who made it all possible without his moved there is no 6 championships at all for the bulls fanbase to see when they walk in that United center Jordan was not the reason he was one of the reasons
Yes but his ego also ruined the dynasty.
No Jerry Krause, no Bulls dynasty. Give respect where respect is due.
Best explanation in clip here was JKs baseball GM thinking and acting like it could have transitioned the same in BB where players really steer the team’s success longer term.
Jerry Krause and Michael Jordan are the reasons the Bulls have 6 championships
Maybe I haven’t been watching these debate shows long enough, but I’ve never heard them talk about the downfall of the Bull’s dynasty. I honestly thought it had more to do with age than the beef phil and the players had with Krause. They’ve had to have brought this topic up before. I would have expected Stephen A to have knowledge on it before this doc came out last night. Is it possible they didn’t even know how bad the rift with the front office was? Because everyone acts like they just found out
"I dont care if you go 82-0, this is your last season."
he gets credit for destroying a dynasty. I don't care if you can put a great team together. The coaches and the players are the ones who do the hard work. If being successful is not enough for you to be happy, you're a small person.
The team should've been broken up when the players can't produce at the level they were when winning championships, if it ain't broke don't fix it
The owner makes the decisions and should take responsibility for it all being pulled apart not just Krause. He is the one that destroyed it all
All owners with the first name Jerry think they are more important than the players
2 episodes in and this series is 🔥
I feel bad for everyone for hearing Max. Gag me! Organizations win championships? I don’t care what sport. Players win!
If the organization is dysfunctional most likely won’t win anything meaningful
Nick Gonzalez except the bulls, lakers, etc.

In ANY SPORT.. the coaches, the front office can only do so much, but when it's time to execute, it's always down to the players.. that's why when mj, did what he did after that last dance, the owners and the front office started to change. They started to treat the players right.
