This was and still is my favourite tallent show. It was such a thrill not only trying to guess who each contestant was going to be before the reveal but also heaing their voice. This years winner was sooooo like the original. Not saying who won dont want to spoil it. Not only did they sound exactly like the original but my goodness they looked like them too. Really miss this show, so sad it had to come to an end. BRING IT BACK!!! pleeeaase 🙏
Nowadays we have STARSTRUCK where they properly focus on just having a good time rather than wanting to be the overall winner & getting into tears when they get eliminated

They repeated the 94 final on challenge a few years ago - with an aston saying "REPEAT BROADCAST - DO NOT CALL" for the benefit of people who don't know how old Matthew Kelly is hahahaha....lord knows what the actual number would lead to nowadays.

Matthew Kelly is bloody hillarous! He was a fantastic host of Stars In Their Eyes. LEGEND! I used to watch the show in New Zealand when I was a kid. It was originally on TV2 to start of, but moved to TV One in 1998… I think.

This is when weekend television was great and something that was actually well worth watching especially on Saturday nights unlike nowadays where you get the viewers complaining about the shows or the contestants or the hosts
We saw diane (diana Ross) sing for thr 1st time in the Wendover, shes not wrong she blew us away. She can sing anything from any artist. She was SO shy.. as a favour to us she sang a 2 hour set at my sisters wedding. The place was rocking. So lovely, so talented.
This is fantastic, just pure entertainment without a tard in sight trying to censor or make up stories about nothing.. So glad I was brought up in a far more sensible time 💃🏼🕺🏻🥳🥳

Does anyone know why Stars in their Eyes never gets repeated on TV?. I know it's an old show but lots of old shows get shown, some more than others and lately it's just all the crap gameshows that are still being made. I'm guessing the reason is down to music rights as the channel either won't pay the royalties to use the songs (which were covers anyway) or the copyright holder won't allow them to use the songs, or it could be because they need permission from the contestant.

This was something me and my family loved watching on a Saturday night and it’s one brilliant show that we all watched. This needs to be brought back and not with Harry Hill. Who’s idea was that???!!! He was completely the wrong choice and all he did was make it a complete joke show and he took the thunder away from the contestants when it should be about their amazing singing talent.

The era before everything became a soap opera with all the sob stories. It is so refreshing.
