I cried, i cried a lot. And i acquired a lot of hate on white people at the time
Adoro a musical & Mandiba!
It was a story of South Africa but they managed to tell a whole continent's story. Just brilliantly done
Beautiful but not just the continent the whole world
@@TFS867 which whole world? Sarafina is about apartheid South Africa and the struggle for freedom. Every colonized African country has a version of this story in a way.
I will never see it as a story of the whole world because it isn't.
This was the story of South Africa only
Apartheid was about South Africa and Namibia

Love, Love Sarafina. Watched the movie in the theater when it came out. These kids were my peers. Waited for Mandela at what was then the National airport in DC. Saw Mr. Mandela and the beautiful Mrs. Winnie Mandela live at the Convention Center in DC. Watched every Mandela interview on TV. This was Mr. Mandela’s first visit to the US after his long imprisonment. I was a young African student studying in the US. Was obsessed with the South African story and completely obsessed with Mr. Mandela. Sarafina music evokes memories of the suffering of the black South Africans under the apartheid regime. I have a story for my grandkids.
