Tim, Thank You! I dont refer to the comments of others, so I just say the everything worked just perfect! Saved sending Sprint a $100 deductible just to do this job. Which cost me all of 29 including shipping of tools and screen. I'm happy and will tell others. Thanks again!

Thank you for this video, I just replaced my two sons screens without any problem at all. The tools I used was a hairdryer and a carpet knife... Edit: No need to remove the battery for this, you might want to consider doing a note in the video explaining that ;)

Thanks for this video! I just finished repairing one of these for the little girl across the street. After watching your video, I was able to make the repair quickly and properly. I have been an electronics hobbyist for 45 years, and worked in electronics manufacturing for over 30 of those years. Even so, this would have been a VERY intimidating repair job without the benefit of your video. Thanks again!

THANK YOU!!! Took it upon myself to fix my daughter's galaxy tab 3. Bought a replacement screen on EBay, watched your video before I took on the task and your clear instructions and easy to view video was key to success. I improvised some tools such as using a hairdryer vs heat gun and small tabs of cardboard vs guitar picks. Also, I covered the screen with packaging tape to prevent pieces of glass from flying around while removing the broken glass. Thanks again from Newfoundland, Canada!

Miguel Nunes I'm glad you changed your screen so quickly with little heat. My video was on a 7 inch, I just like to make sure I take of screens without breaking a device that does not belong to me. I do not appreciate being being told I am talking shit, when all I'm doing is making sure I'm not breaking the device.
    Thanks for watching

Cariciasification You don't need ANY heat. A razor blade will remove it with no problems. It's literally a 10 min job even if you dont know what you're doing from start to finish.

hey friend thanks for that great instructional video..i followed it step by step and even got a bit ahed of you at times..i saw that there was a problem to get the home button to stay so i just put a bit of tape on the front of the screen right where the button was and it held the button inplace it wont leave any mess on the glass if you keep the plastic on it until the install is dont completely...thanks again my friend.

    Tim bedankt!
Worked like a charm. Made an extra step , not needed in hind sight, and removed the back plate first. Then took out the battery. Unplugged the ribbon en removed the frame. I used a surgical knife and a hair dryer which did the trick for me. I did have a 25in 1 opening kit for tablets/smartphones which helped.
In the end not difficult at all and as a noob i was quite proud that it only took me 30 min. In the shop it woulda cost me 160 euro, now i got the screen for 46 euro.
    Thanks again mate.

Yodaco Odacoy, did you repair an 8 inch as those have loca glue. The 7 and 10.1 do not they are only glued on the edges.

So far noting on the 8 inch the assembly part (glass and LCD ) is so expensive you can almost buy a new tablet. Make sure to buy a 7 or 10 inch so you can fix it.
Sorry I do not have better news.

This was bought to replace an old Lenovo tablet which was essentially too sluggish to cope with modern websites. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxz4qYZoyAOb_hq_UbaKI6AsZX0FnoFm-U This tablet is fast, has a very clear display with built in optional eye comfort shield, great sound with Dolby Atmos, split screen option and numerous tweaks that I've not yet explored. I've plugged a wireless receiver into the i/o socket to connect a mouse if I need it and a bluetooth keyboard works fine - unlike the Lenevo which somehow would often garble the input. Battery life seems good. In short I'm very pleased with it

I would like to give a very big thank you. Tim,
I appreciate this video. I purchased this unit for ten bucks. The previous owner was quoted 100 bucks for the glass and another 75 for the repair. Obviously the repair cost is more than the value of the tablet. A little gouging I believe.
Thanks for making this video. I intend to replace this myself.

Thanks for the video. A friend and I were able to replace the screen without any real problems. Here are a few lessons learned:
    1. I would have looked at your website for buying the screen and tools instead of eBay if you had said that you had things for sale at the beginning of your video instead of the end.
    2. We slightly scratched the LCD screen when we were trying to clean it with a piece of cloth to remove the small barely-visible pieces of outer screen. If we could do it again, we would have blown the glass away with compressed air.
    3. There was a lot of small pieces of glass. If we had made the repair in a box instead of on a table, the cleanup would have been quicker.
    4. I don't have a heat gun so I used my wife's 1875W hair dryer and a razor blade and it worked just as well.

Watched the video twice-loved it and thought if I take my time, I can do that?
Ordered the item for £11 (about US $17.00.) Fitted it whilst watching the video, with a few pauses of course. My wife must have a good hair dryer because I got the back off in no time at all.
Now works A1, and to think the other half was going to bin it. Many thanks for your generous video, that it must be said is compulsive viewing. I have had a lot of issues in recent times of a mental health nature, and when you achieve something like you feel you have climbed a mountain.
    Once again, Many thanks

Thanks for the video, I found it very helpful. Fixed my little boys one a treat. Just one little thing that may help, when replacing the button, if you put a bit of tape to the front of the screen covering the hole, place the button into its slot, and stick it to the tape. Then when you put the screen in place, the button is located correctly without it dropping out. Then when you are done, remove the tape! Thanks very much saved me a fortune getting it repaired!!

"Yeah, yo, see these components back here? Let's try not to damage them, they're very fragile. Meanwhile let's take this heat gun and apply heat to the face in order to peel off the screen." Seriously man, you answered my question right there. I came here because I have a Samsung 10.1 Tab that needs a screen replaced and I thought I might give it a whirl myself. Now I know it would be best left to a professional. Very informative video though.

THANKS!!!!! I am a complete idiot when it comes to repairing things. But, you're video was awesome in giving me the details and knowledge for replacing my screen. What would have been a very costly repair ended up only being about $20 (cost of screen). Thanks again and I will definitely look to you first if ever needing another repair.
