Gabriel, great video. I love when you get to walk n talk w/ the people of a town and we can learn so much! Do you use budget laptop so it won't be absconded? Vids look great: Giving me 2nd thoughts about Macs.
Gabriel I often admire your courage doing voice-overs. People must wonder who in the heck you are speaking to, much of the time! As a woman, I am not sure how comfy I would feel traveling in Arab countries by myself. But, the people seem to be quite nice to you so what is not to like, huh?
Hi Gabriel, I had almost had the exact same experience you had in Tunis! I.e. a local meeting me on the street, taking me to the same carpet store with the same panoramic view and showing me around the medina. The guy at the carpet store showing you around was a different one though, but his older assistant was there when I visited too! This brought back a lot of memories!
You can never be lonely in these places, there's always a friendly local willing to show you around...for a commission of course 🤣 I'm not a souq person but if I were I'd definitely choose Tunis over Marrakech, looks like a much more chilled experience
Amazing video , I came from work had my lunch after 6 O'clock in the evening then watched your video its like going on vacation every three or four days . Thank you Gabriel for sharing us . I'm waiting for the next 👋
Some you win some you lose....in this case the "guide" certainly gave you a wonderful view ...and the stunning tiles on the roof.....plus the gorgeous "marriage rooms".....certainly worth the walk.. ..
Definitely this makes me change my perception, the Medina is so alive but not overwhelming. I can only say the view on the top of that shop and how beautifully they keep that roof is worth it. That's a very ingenious way to bring people to a shop! Reminded me Jerusalem and Istanbul.

Hi Gabriel, there's no doubt the Arab countries created the hustle they're business-savvy people going into the Medinas are risk-taking ventures because they recognize the foreigners, and they try to capitalize on that knowledge. Those rugs are exquisitely beautiful in any room of the home. He put honey into the juice and sweetened it even more.

Hello Gabriel, the man who saw you near the mosque was saying that non muslims could not go in because there were prayers. As for the fruit that you keep on seeing it is prickly pear, once peeled and depending on its kind, it tastes good and it is popular also in Lebanon and Syria.
You should watch the movie "Patton" which has a depiction of the Battle of Kasserine Pass (just outside Tunis), the first battle between the US and Germany in WW2.

Started watching at 18:43 Thailand time, thank you for your videos, the 30th of August is here. I gave up traveling a long time ago and enjoy my peaceful existence in the Thai village outside of Nakhon Sawan with my Thai wife who works in the daytime I have enough money saved I can do without work but she likes what she does. I am a lazy 65-year-old while my wife is 12 years younger and I like some beer and Thai food. Peace
I liked your "inside joke" about the sandals! From some of my travel experiences, non-muslims will be allowed in some mosques in the outer courts (outside gardens) but not inside the main building/s. That was definitely a worthwhile view of the city despite having the "run around" with that local guy.
A little off topic Gabe but there is a couple very small Italian islands not far from the Tunisian coast; one being Pantelleria and the other Lampedusa. I hope to see you check out those islands someday from what I’ve heard they are lovely! Pantelleria is only 60km off the coast of Tunis and can be seen on a clear day I’ve read. Also In 2013 trip advisor rated a beach on Lampedusa “worlds best beach.”
It was good Gabe stuck with that local shop owner for all that time to get the prize terrace view from the roof top; as the terrace itself was beautiful with all the tile work and design. . . :>/
Gabriel you might have to buy something or give them a tip - I know it's very hard to buy anything when you travel because you heavy to Carry or to hard to pack

Gabriel hello, I hope you are doing well & having a wonderful time throughout everywhere you travel, all of these videos were very informative & excellent. Wonderful work, it really did look like Greece in a lot of ways, very nice. I highly enjoyed these videos thank you for sharing your thoughts & experiences. Stay safe & I look forward to seeing more destinations. Peace & blessings to you! 🌹✌️🥰👍
Gabe, I see there aren't many cheap flights available out of Tunisia until 9/10. Yet you could always take a 10-hour ferry to Sicily for $25. Otherwise you could fly to Dakar for about $300, but I don't see many other options in the next week or so. You could always try and get a visa for Algeria, or explore more of Tunisia (there's lots more to see) and fly out in a week or so.
I really enjoyed your walking in Medina. I guess that your next destination will be Greece for third time this summer. Nice video. Could you make a video with the settings in your camera?
