Proof that there is no relation, one way or the other, between quality and money spent

I remember watching the Atomic Dog video for the first time in 1982 on a public TV channel where black scholars were discussing the cultural and historical importance and significance of that song. I was surprised and wondered where it got shown. It was much later in the late 90s that I saw Cameo's Just Be Yourself. Where did they show that one in 1982. Then I remembered that MTV never played any black music until Michael Jackson finally became acceptable to the mainstream. Up until then black music like funk was like some nasty disease that the majority just didn't appreciate and couldn't understand. Things were the opposite of today where MTV now seems to play only rap almost exclusively. Where did that come from? The simplistic sounds today seem to appeal to any and everybody. There's no more challenge and artistic endeavor among musicians today. What a sad message that sends about our society.
