- This weeks concert, in our series “The ICC Seisiúns” stars the amazing fiddle and flute duo, James Carty and Eimear McGeown in performance and in conversation.
The award-winning fiddle player James Carty is one of the finest young Irish fiddler players of his generation. He possesses a distinctive style which he developed having grown up listening to the Sligo music masters. As a solo musician James has performed all over Ireland, the UK, Canada and the USA and he recently completed his first solo album entitled Hiding Daylight in Dark Corners.
Irish flautist Eimear McGeown has garnered a reputation as being one of the world’s most versatile performers on classical and Irish flute and has performed as a soloist all over the world. She has received various awards including the ‘TCM Silver Medal Award’ from Trinity College of Music and the ‘Camerata Ireland Young Musician of the Year Award’. Eimear is an ‘All Ireland’ champion twice over and she released her debut album 'Inis', launching it at the Irish Embassy in London, hosted by Ambassador Adrian O'Neill.
Joining them on keyboard is the ‘All Ireland Champion’, the young multi-instrumentalist Ben Connolly.
This magical concert features some original compositions and great traditional tunes. Their music is magnificent - Enjoy!
