  • Conclude National Mammal Week with a forward-thinking discussion on the future of mammal science and conservation. In this panel, we will explore the potential challenges, opportunities, and strategies for ensuring the protection and restoration of British mammal populations for the next 70 years.
    Panellists:
    Derek Gow: Farmer-turned-nature conservationist, reintroduction specialist, and author of the new book ‘Hunt for the Shadow Wolf: The Lost History of Wolves in Britain and the Myths and Stories that Surround Them’.
    Ferozah Mahmood: Campaigns and Community Coordinator at WWF, previous Wild Isles Project Officer with the Save Our Wild Isles Campaign, and member of the Mammal Society’s council.
    Dr Merryl Gelling: Chartered ecologist, mammal translocation and reintroduction specialist, and member of the Mammal Society’s council.
    Chantal Lyons: Science communicator and author of the new book ‘Groundbreakers: The Return of Britain’s Wild Boar’.
