You NEED to listen to the live version from the Pulse concert in 1994. If you felt cheated on the guitar solo here… you will NOT be disappointed. It’s notably one of the best if not The Best solo ever.
I've had quite a few people mention this to me. I think I'll check that out very soon as it seems I'm clearly missing out on something epic! Thanks for the comment
The song is from a double Pink Floyd album called "The Wall". It is a concept album about a rockstar losing his mind. It is considered a masterpiece. This song occurs about 2/3 of the way into the story. Now check out the live Pulse version from 1994 and be prepared to have your mind blown.
Love the reaction. Talk as you like. I think this is one of the great bands of all time, along with a couple other's you have already done. I hope you do Time by this band, though no one who has suggested that you should do The Wall, and Dark Side of the Moon, each from beginning to end, is wrong. Both albums are made to be heard from beginning to end. Even if you did them one at a time, I think you would love nearly every song on both. The same could be said for Led Zeppelin 1 and 4, and a few others.
"One of These Days" from Meddle is an amazing builder, the intensity grows and Grows and GROWS! Also, "The Great Gig in the Sky" from Dark Side of the Moon will blow your mind.
Solid reaction! Floyd's my favorite band, David Gilmour's my favorite guitarist. Keep heading down this rabbit hole and you'll find them to be one of the GOATs. Try the studio version of Time next. The biggest thing about Pink Floyd is their music seems to surround you while their lyrics are some of the most profound ever written.
Yh LIVE VERSION PULSE CONCERT to witness tha' pure-raw-talent of DAVID GILMOURS SOLO @ light show which has not bin out-dun till this day. Good luck wth yr channel ❤ @positivity Xxx.
Thank you so much for the comment and support. Just checked that version out this morning (reaction to it on my channel), spoiler - it blew my socks off!!!!
if you want to see the guys playing in an empty ancient Roman Amphitheatre with No Audience, No Lights, No Pyrotechnics just Gods playing to the Gods Pink Floyd "Echoes (Part 1)" live at Pompeii 1972 Take care to check for Part 1 only for reaction purposes. The full track is quite long and the live at Pompeii puts the long "soundscape" section into Part 2
Another great band to get into. My second favorite behind Zeppelin. You are really getting into good bands my man. And yes, this is considered the greatest guitar solo of all time, not for being difficult, it's pretty easy to play, but because of the emotion and power in it. Ranked #1 in lists of guitar solos.
Nice. David Gilmour is the greatest slow hand guitarist ever. Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins in their first band called Genesis and a song called Cinema Show is a good intro ✨️🎶🙏🎶✨️
@MusicForTheSoulReactions YES, Floyd, Led Zeppelin great bands. Deep Purple's Highway Star is just as it sounds, beer between the legs, left hand on the wheel, and a fatty in the right heading to the cottage
Another great band for you to check out is RUSH, a Canadian power trio with 3 virtuosos. Many RUSH fans are also big Pink Floyd and Yes fans. Geddy Lee, the bassist played with the band for their induction into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. When they first got radio airplay, everyone was convinced they were hearing Led Zeppelin - that song was Working Man. I recommend checking out this live version = 3 cups of coffee. Here's a link: ua-cam.com/video/uJz049s4Pbg/v-deo.html
You really need to check out early Genesis when Peter Gabriel was the singer and Phil Collins was the drummer. I don't know anyone who has listenec to the song "Firth of Fifth" and wasn't blown away. You will not be dissapointed. I just started catching your reactions, you do a good job! I just subscribed, hello from New York.
That certainly would make sense. It's certainly a minefield trying learn about all this bands I know nothing about and how best to listen to their music. Appreciate the comment
Yes the Pulse version is spectacular, as is every single track at the Pulse Concert. However for concepts / great lyrics working through the album The Dark Side of the Moon (audio only) is something everyone should do if you want a "Bible" for modern life set to some great music. "Brace yourself Dorethy, coz Kansas is going bye bye!"
Nice one. One of the best tunes off The Wall. But I prefer the songs from Dark Side and Wish You Were Here more. Try Time and Money off DSOTM and Shine on You Crazy Diamond from WYWH
For no reason in particular I've just never gravitated towards Pink Floyd before, can't really say why given I only had Brick in the Wall to go off. I'm hoping doing this channel will encourage to find bands I've kept myself ignorant of over the years and broaden my musical tastes. Thanks for the comment.
@@MusicForTheSoulReactions Was just curious as they are such an iconic group. Good luck in your musical journey. In the distant past we all had favorite groups and had to wait months and months for new releases, but when you find a classic group that piques your interest, you have their whole catalog at you disposal immediately! Maybe give a listen to Jethro Tull, especially their earlier albums.
Absolutely love the channel. It's refreshing to see genuine reactions for once as there's so many fakers out there. Best wishes from a fellow northerner.
Amazing you don't know Pink Floyd. I wonder where you are from and how old you are ?! But it's a plesure to follow you from the start on your journey through old pieces we love since decades. I must say Pink Floyd is far from my favorites but I admit they are an incredible and talented band. I love especially and over all their album Wish You Were Here.
Hey, appreciate you sticking around for my journey! From Northern UK and just turned the big 40! As I mention in my bio, I have been quite sheltered in my experience of rock music (younger days were saved for rap music!), basically only last few years have I explored some of my dads stuff ACDC, Eagles, Queen, ELO, NiK Kershaw of all people etc. It stuns me how much I've missed out on and am yet to introduce my amateur ears too!! Loving the experience so far though!
@@MusicForTheSoulReactions Well if you already appreciate ELO, Queen, the journey will be easier. Now it depends if you want to discover Weird music or just most well-known artists. As I said before a mix is certainly the most interesting for you and for us.
@@Rowenband I plan to explore everything and anything recommended over the coming months and years. From well known, to weird, music is for enjoying so as long as it has that going for it, I'm in!
Ok, the song's about a treatment Roger Waters received in the US for back pain. He had an injection in his back so he could go on stage that night to perform. From all accounts he tripped out a bit from the injection, hence the title "Comfortably Numb"! The guitarist is Dave Gilmore, probably one of the greatest guitarist of all time, he can make a Fender Stratocaster sing! Quick point, shut-up while he's playing, just sit there and let the sounds woft over you! Get the album "Dark Side of the Moon" and listen to that, it's one of the greatest albums of all time! And yes, it's Pink Floyd! In reality you should listen to Pink Floyd in a dark room, sound turned up and chuffing on a joint! 😄😄😄 I'm sure others would agree! 😆😆😆

Can’t he have soul for Zeppelin, Yes and myriad other bands? Besides this is his first ever listen. Floyd should expand his musical taste. I’ll certainly give him the chance to see whether he can grow into the band.
Lets be fair and honest. He's listening to it for the first time. AND by the time Floyd did "The Wall" it was kinda over...It's not anywhere as good as the previous four albums. Waters is a grumpy old fart and I'll take Hackett over Gilmour any day. Remember, it's all objective...
I call bs. Reaction etiquette lesson #1: never ever ever talk over a guitar solo. We oldster fans of these bands,,,,, the guitar solo is “sacred”.
The first guitar solo is in a major key, while the concluding solo is in a minor key. That's what the gives the second solo such a different vibe.
