Wonderful. You took us back 17 years. A 5 day trip then - but only because it was absolute raw Aus peace. Really like your relaxed approach and appreciation for natural Aus.
Just seen your channel for the first time. Great to see young people like yourselves doing our outback justice with your movies. I done the kidson years ago. The canning. Gees my ole 79 and I have been all over our fine country. You really do document our country well. Haha watched your canning dilemma with the bd tank. Burned once twice shy. I use another brand of long ranger tank now. Zero problems. Thumbs up to you guys.
Had a LRanger in the Patrol I had for 21 years, as did a mate of mine. We did the CSR in 2019 (3OC) both of our tanks had multiple cracks and leaks. Very hard to get fixed, tried everything while on the CSR multiple brands of tank fix it putty, nothing worked. Not sure if they are any better than the BD units. I have a 79 dual cab now with the BD, no leaks yet! But I’m sure they are coming 😉😔
Fantastic episode, a good wet for a couple of years has produced some awesome flower displays, even the spinifex in flower looks great. Bet the bushwrapz have paid for themselves a hundred times over. Just think back in the day they would of been driven in 2wd vehicles. Sunrise n sunsets are spectacular in the Pilbara
Great episode thanks. This was a really interesting track I've heard about but not seen before. We had the funniest experience at Cape Keraudren a couple of years back. Went out to the camping spot from Pardoo Roadhouse (before it was decimated) and the place was packed with caravans. I swear I heard banjos. A few vans had good spots overlooking the creek and the ocean but there must have been close to 50 vans stacked cheek by jowl in the dry salt pan, fighting the sand flies and glare. I couldn't help but wonder what the motivation was for staying in such a desolate location - even if it's free.
17:25 brands do matter - an eight ply (a rare brand) might have five on the tread and three on the side wall, similarly, a tyre might have four on the tread and four on the side wall. 17:50 better to change the tyre and then plug later - plugging should always be done with no load on the tyre as the plugs conform in a failed or static state and last longer.
Yes side wall ply does matter, I was commenting more on if it’s a thick branch it’ll go through. That plug lasted a few months and got us across the whole country.
Great vid guys , what is the GPS unit you zoom in and out on at centre of your dash ….. is it a Hema device or a head unit with Hema loaded maps , looks better to use than our Hema app on an old not in use iPhone idea 👍
Hey mate thank you. Yeah it’s a heading with HEMA loaded on. The head unit is essentially an android tablet so you can get any app you want from the google play store so I also have the Redarc app to check my batteries and turn things on and off. It’s from explore Aus very handy to have.
@@OverlandTravellers cheers for that , we ran into you guys on the Binns as you were heading to the Simpson . Just as you were about to film some bull dust action 🤙🏿…. We were in the old GQ Patrol
Yep at the post office , what a nice bloke ….. hey is the Nyangumarta Hwy although very overgrown a track you would be able to do as a single vehicle or would you advise for this one to travel with someone else ? Planning for next year 🤙🏾
@@Bigcountry_littlelegs Yeah that would be cool! It was crazy how good that setup was considering we put it together witha saw, hammer, chisel and drill. But I would definately change a few things but the overall setup would be roughly the same.
Yuk! Instant coffee 🤮. I managed to have fresh coffee even on Army exercises in the field! I carry a French Press and an Italian style coffee pot. Never go without fresh coffee!

Yes I know what you mean, its a nice spot but some of the locations people were staying was a bit odd when not far away was a much nicer spot 🤷♂️

@@Bigskies31 Youd be fine by yourself, its pretty easy going. It really only took us 1 and a half days.
The crumbed and fried oysters, how were they, were they nice? And what was the sauce you used to dip them in?
Yeah they were good! I think it was a sticky soy sauce.
Great video guys!
What app/map are you using on your head unit?
HEMA maps :)
@@OverlandTravellerstry ExplorOZ Traveller it’s like 1000% better
Was this re-uploaded? I swear I watched it earlier today...

Hi matt and holly does the lux still live?
Sure does its back on the farm working
@@OverlandTravellers nice, would be cool to do a revist on it and how you would set it up now with your experiences for the same budget.
