I thank God for allowing me to see this video because this is an awesome teaching that the church should be teaching in the churches today about toxic people!!! You describe my husband!!!!!!
Where is that line between someone struggling with normative sin issues in their life--as we all do--and toxicity? I would submit to you that it's a large, grey area. It would be tragic if even one person used this idea as an excuse to abandon their marriage, without biblical grounds to do so.
the sad truth is than many wives are getting this message and abandoning their espouses because he is soooooo difficult. You re leaving the door open to define difficult vs. toxic. I know u mean well and you love the Lord but we will look at this message in the future and realize that the way was frame gave a huge open door to confusion and excuses. I think Biblical wisdom framework would it have been better. Innstead of non-specific words like toxic, dificult, negative.....! just my thought. Gary has bless me so much with his other books, but this one :(.....sorry!
abuse is never okay and a man without accountability lording over his wife is unfortunately the story of too many christian women that are hanging on by a thread. God doesn't call us to wither and die on the vine in relationship with an abusive toxic person over the sanctity of marriage. He values life over marriage. And many toxic men are targeting Christian women as their power source which is a very sad situation.
