Started listening to Malevolent after it popped up on The White Vault. I was listening again to White Vault with the new season and heard Malevolent Episode one again, and decided that it was something I wanted listen too. After 4 seasons of emotional abuse and psychological trauma, I decided to come here and see how the soup was made. Looking forward to the campaign.
This amazing, I can feel the story as I listen and watch the facial expressions as they role play. I feel like I'm listening to a great audio book. Thank you for making this piece of content.

@@skyhazel6205 the happy ending is where you join a cult and accept the old ones, reveling in your insanity. Or just noping out of being an investigator after killing all of the zombies.
I know I'm a bit late to the party but great job guys. Best CoC live play vid I've seen yet. Almost like radio theater. I'll be watching and waiting for more vids.
The key changes of 7th Edition, to my mind, come from Pushing checks - where you get a second chance at a skill roll at greater potential cost if you fail, Bonus and Penalty dice - where you add one more 10-sided die when rolling and take the better or worst result depending on whether the situation offers you an advantage or disadvantage, and Opposed checks - that replace the old Resistance Table and pit opponents rolls against each other attempting to get the best possible degree of success. (quoted from my Geeknative review of the 7th Edition adventure Dead Light) You also get some extra details around magic - like the ability to cast deeper magic - and you have a whole chapter on chases. On top of that, all stats have gone to percentages, to match the skills; you have some consolidation of old skills and a little renaming; and, you have an optional rule to spend Luck to alter dice rolls.
Just caught this. Fun stuff guys. When Justin said he was going to "Toreador," I wondered when they started to play Vampire. :-P PS: Chris is really cute. ;-)
I do not. I GM a game using a hybrid-system of two of the coolest systems out there (imho of course). The Cypher System & Star Wars RPG System by Fantasy Flight. I found you guys due to a search I did of how other people are using the Cypher System. It was your excellent group chemistry and the amount of work and care you put into your videos that makes me come back from time to time to see what else you play. Keep up the great work.
Hi Guys! A big round of applause for you! I am french, and I have to say after a lot of research on youtube that you are my favourite roleplay group! What an awesome keeper you have, you are so great at describing the ambience of this story (thanks to you all for speaking so clearly, it helps for foreigners like me). I just finished part 2 but I can't wait to see what's going to happen next. I really love how you investigators are carefully playing your roles. I hope to see more of this and hopefully with the pack of you around a table. We have french keepers that are beginning to film their stories around a table wich is quite amazing. But they don't have your talent so I hope you will do it that way. Last question: Which campaign is this? Farewell guys.
I have never had the chance to participate in tabletop RPG but was interested in trying out Savage Worlds. I stumbled upon the Deadland playlist a while ago and loved it. Excited to start this one! I might be late to the show but at least I have a huge selection now!
I just told a teacher where I work about you guys. It's a Catholic school so not sure how that will go if he watches because of the language but oh well. If he's not offended by it he's in for a treat
Super late to this, but this is amazing. I'm going to have to keep watching my way through. About to get into CoC for the first time in a few weeks (when the new game comes out). Any advice?
Never too late! We're always watching ;) Plenty of advice - you should join our Facebook group and make a post, we'll all happily offer some advice! tinyurl.com/INVICTUSSTREAM
I liked and favorite it! I would to join you guys. Have you played CthulhuTech? Its a similar but even more epic game where Call Of Cthulhu takes place in a futuristic/Anime inspired setting! :D It was inspired by animes like Akira, Evangelion, Guyver etc along with the works of HP Lovecraft!
+Midnight Blaze Sounds very cool! We're not looking for new players at the moment but if you'd like to join our Facebook group in the description of the video you can help change the story!
Really enjoyed it. Friendly criticism: should cut way down on the spot hidden and listen rolls. In addition his knowledge of the coffin story could be occult or knowledge history.
Hello im new to this game and just recently started watching these types of videos. I have a question. Do you as the keeper come up with the story as the game progresses or is There some kind of script and story?
Heya Creepy! For this game I pre-wrote aspects, but the majority was just the general idea of what was going on and improvised. If you're interested in finding out how it all came together, or have more questions you should think about joining the Facebook Group in the description, it's a great place to ask!
INVICTUS Stream well thats very impressive how you could improvise and still Make the story very concistent and horrifying. It felt like a legit lovecraft radioshow or something. And i Also really liked how There Where interactive elements such as letters and enigmas!!
Appreciate the info however I actually checked into this before planning :) Air Conditioning was invented in the 1900's however it was in no way affordable nor widely used until the 50's at least, and even then it wasn't used all that much. In fact in 1914 there was a handful of units, one being in the Minneapolis mansion of Charles Gates that was approximately 7 feet high, 6 feet wide, 20 feet long and possibly never used because no one ever lived in the house. It wasn't until 1931 that H.H. Schultz and J.Q. Sherman invented an individual room air conditioner that sits on a window ledge-a design that's been ubiquitous in apartment buildings ever since. But since this takes place in the 1920's that wouldn't have been possible. Close, but no cigar ;)
Yes, sorry it's not clear but the 4 episodes are just the first game split up into shorter segments. If you want to watch the game continue with this series :) Thanks for watching
+Olivier Sevathean :) Thanks! You should consider joining the Facebook Group! Lots of great people and a really helpful, sharing community! Link is in the description.
Very cool to get the backstory on all these characters with the knowledge of how their lives turn out in Malevolent!

recently played my first COC session and was in the mood for more inbetween sessions. this might be old but it's still really good
You guys really should have a lot more than 3K subs. This is RPG gold.
Literally just came home from playing this and we failed so bad to the point where we all became sacrifices for Cthulhu xD
To be fair to you, there's usually no happy ending in Cthulu games anyway
