I cried for the elderly Ward brothers. Some people abuse their power and are so cruel. Those old boys ran a working dairy farm...which isn't easy. The town folk learned a lesson, too. Wonderful defense lawyer. ⚖️

A great documentary! My heart was full of sympathy for these brothers. They are not inbred; they are simply uneducated due to circumstances beyond their control. Many farm children were taken out of school early to work on the farm years ago. I, for one, see them as humble, peaceful men who have only each other in the world. It's sad not funny and they should not be made fun of.

@@beastshawnee4987 Did you know the Muslim community in my country, England, still marry their 1st cousins as a matter of course. Often, if the girl is unlucky, the lad will be a cousin who is still in rural Pakistan to hasten chain migration. The birth deformities of this practise means its the no1 killer of kids under 12months. The NHS is sadly having to pay fortunes in pre and post natal research, surgery and care because nobody will even talk or admit it-never mind allow debate of what is a HUGE issue. This isn't rural isolated communities, this is standard practice in arranged marriages across the UK. It's remarkable and depressing in equal measures.

My kind of people. I love seeing this community in the US still so very like our own here in Ireland. Its heartwarming to see how much deeply felt caring & respect they obviously have for each other, and in particular for the Ward brothers.
These insular farming communities have their own way of doing things, I personally can appreciate that and respect it too. I believe its a dying world of a simpler people that we as a race needed desperately to hold on to. These are the salt of the Earth.

Im glad the people of the community on the jury believed in Delbert and found him not guilty. The police should have known when questioning him that he could be easily manipulated into signing a confession, he would get confused very easily. These were good hard working farmers, good honest country folk, and their good country neighbor friends stood behind them. To the people who make mean comments about the way they lived, get over its, they worked hard on their farm from daylight to dark, never had running water, cleaning house wasn't important to them, and I have no problem if that's how they chose to live. These are just plain good honest country folk, God bless them.

My family moved us to the country in VT when I was 10, and it was the best thing that could have happened to me. It was like moving to a huge playground with rivers to fish and woods and mountains to explore. I met many simple people, simply happy, simply wise, simply peaceful and simply friendly. Many knew just how to live off the land, collecting natural food in the woods, hunting, gardening etc, much wisdom that's lost in today's society.

Make some to take on the road/to job, doesn’t have to be hot, of course better if it’s hot. After about 15-20 mins if/when coughing returns, just keep sipping Slippery Elm Bark Tea. Not to be confused with Elderberry Tea although Elderberry has it’s benefits...Just that Slippery Elm Bark Tea is hands down the KEY TO NOT SUFFERING A COUGHING FIT/Lite coughing.
IMPORTANT: Slippery Elm Bark Tea is best tasting when steeped/made with one part Slippery Elm Bark Tea bag to One regular Lipton/Tetley tea bag. I personally prefer organic tea & have only ever had access to organic Slippery Elm Bark Tea.

Why would you commend them and put a college graduate down to do so? NYU is one of the best colleges in the world. Everyone has their value and it’s stupid to have a superiority complex if you’re a farmer just bc a college graduate hasn’t worked on a farm before. And by the way, someone from NYU can figure out how to work a farm after some reading and training. But on the other hand the average farmer wouldn’t be able to learn the material in NYU in years. An outrageous display of exactly what law enforcement agencies can do and will do just to close a case. The D.A's position is not to only be there to prosecute but to also make sure that there is even a case and that what ever the situation is that it is held up legally fairly, and right for all parties. After all if one is representing the state the defendant is most likely to be a citizen of that state. So if your own state is prosecuting you who do you go to when your own state wrongs you?
The audacity of New York to even make a case out of that situation is sickening. Im very happy that the jury did the right thing.

I made some comments below but, I grew up in a town like that one and there was a older man in town that could have been one of those brothers. He had land outside of town but he was unable to live there by himself, so as small towns take care of their own, he was given a little room above the towns cafe, and everything from food to clothes were given to him. He had the same innocent quality and just walked around town visiting folks all day, or sitting in the barber shop. No one knew until the day he died that he was one of the richest people in town because of his farm land, he was not even aware that his land was worth so much because people were trying to develope it, so when I saw this story, it made me look at more than what Officials are putting out there.

If a neighbor roof was leaking the other neighbors would go and help fix it. I remember when my father was building a log cabin in Michigan ( Luther) and neighbors came to give a hand. My mother made lemonade and my father pulled a keg of beer and the cabin with 3 bedrooms a bathroom kitchen and living room were built. It's still there even though I moved to the city. This place reminds me much of were I came from..But now I have a job and responsibilities here and cannot leave. Probably at my age of retirement ..lol..
