I did something similar to mine with a threaded rod and has been doing great. I think the factory rod was 7/8 and I did the same dropped down to 1 size smaller but I just did a straight burn with the mig welder with no heating and it I did great. I think it comes down to the percent of iron and steel to how easy it will crack. More iron the easier it will crack. I’ve seen dad weld engine blocks with no heat and no cracks and seen stew pots crack as soon as as the rod gets started. You did a great job

@@Moorefarmalls thanks bud. I used 7/8 rod and rounded all my corners trying to make it look as factory as possible. Holding it next to dad’s 140 you can tell but just looking at it by itself it looks good. Thanks for the comment.

@@TheW.Homestead yea looks good. I think Burchstore wants $150 for a whole arm. They sell the replacement yoke and rod but each piece is like $100 so that why mine is welded like yours 😂 probably got $20 in it

@@Moorefarmalls yea I had the rod laying around and the welding rods were already here so with a little work I saved a good amount lol. I have a friend that sells parts for farmalls. He gets $80 for an adjustment arm.
