Kai Cenat Issues Apology After PS5 Giveaway Turns to Chaos

- Twitch streamer Kai Cenat's giveaway in New York City turned into chaos. A mob took over Union Square after Cenat urged his fans to show up for a giveaway. More than 65 people were arrested, including the 21-year-old. “We are deeply disheartened by the outbreak of disorderly conduct that affected innocent people and businesses, and do not condone that behavior,” said a statement from his rep. “We apologize to all of those impacted. We are fully cooperating with local authorities.”

"more than 65 people were arrested"
That’s the thing. Any of these groups of ppl can easily plan and incite a riot if a celebrity walks by, and the celebrity would be charged while they walk free, and they can especially do this if they hate the celebrity, right? 🤯
Point them out for the police then. No? Then shut up.
Honestly, watching all those people go crazy like this , was like watching people go crazy over those Popeyes chicken sandwiches when they first came out . America has a problem with celebrity worship
You can’t fully blame Kai Cenat for all of this chaos.. What you really need to blame is the bad parenting and the actions of the younger audience of fans who thought this was ok.
Your comment is misguided he has a fan base of mostly kids so ofc they would be unruly and misbehave should they do that? No but Kai as an adult should prepare for safety measures and precautions before he started announcing his giveaway it was very irresponsible of him and careless and knowing the kind of content he makes he’s having edgy/clout chasers following him. he should be held accountable in more ways than one
They probably got influenced from his house fireworks
He is most definitely responsible. He told them to come. We already know many parents aren’t doing their jobs so why invite a bunch of knuckleheads to free stuff without the proper set up?
Blame Kai, blame the parents, blame the kids, blame society, blame me, and blame yourself. Fix those problems and this would never have been a problem.

Like a certain famous former Pres, just cause he didn’t promote violence, it doesn’t mean he isn’t partially responsible. He said big things would happen, & he wasn’t wrong lol.
I feel like he shouldn’t have been charged. He’s basically getting punished for other people’s bad behavior.
While I agree he was wrong to have a large gathering with no permit, I feel like it's unfair to blame him for the behavior of the people in the crowd. Unless there is evidence of him telling them to go wild, it seems like they're blaming the wrong person. It's just easier for them to blame and arrest him instead of a large crowd.
He is wrong and the crowd is wrong.
You know very well that he knew many ppl was going to show up now maybe he wasn’t expecting for it to be as chaotic as it was but who in their right mind would tell ppl hey I’m going ps5 away meet me here especially being as big as he is he’s been in the Influencer world for a while for him to know stuff like this don’t go well he’s not a child.
Seriously? You can't yell out " fire" and not expect people to run... I feel bad for the cops who got pelted with stuff, the businesses whose stores got smashed and innocent bystanders who got caught in the middle.
if you know kai cenat, you know his audience is a bunch of wreckless teenagers. hes the stem to the riot, how can you not see that? if he didn't plan a giveaway with location, there wouldnt be riots. simple as that. but since it did happen, yes, part of the problem is his "fans" that have no respect for anyone or anything, but it does stem from kai and his influence

I fail to see how he's responsible for the actions of others. He just told people he was giving away stuff, he didn't tell them to initiate a riot. It's the equivalent of organising a dinner for the family and a fight breaking out between your drunk cousins. Nothing to do with the initial dinner or even yourself whatsoever. Their actions, their responsibility.
there's a video of him saying the police is gonna pull up and its gonna be a movie but he still didnt expect that many but did know it could happen
With that example, if the family dinner is held *privately* at their home, then that's fine.
But if the dinner was held publicly at a park (BBQ, etc), a fight breaks out and causes a *public* disturbance, then you have a crime.
Don't know who this person is, but it seems like he genuinely didn't know how much influence/power he really has on the internet. So hopefully he'll use this experience and learn from it next time.
@@K1ROPlaysGames ok, we all agree a crime was committed. You’re going to blame the person who organized the BBQ at the picnic shelter instead of the actual people fighting?
@nickthompson1812 Unfortunately, yes. With the same example, the family didn't have permission to setup an event at the park.
So with the case of this internet celebrity, he didn't have authorization to have a large gathering. Reason why you need city permission is so they can prepare and control the crowd for everyone's safety.
You shouldn't have massive gatherings in public spaces without previous proper planning that promotes safety. For some reason he chose a public square and not his private backyard, in the back of his mind he knew.
