When I bought my Ibanez I had the choice of the RG 550 and the RG 560. I took the RG 560 because I hate the look of a pick guard on any guitar thats why I dont own a Fender Either. But if you ask me I would take the 550 over the Schecter just because I know after 34 years of owning my 560 the quality from Ibanez is hard to beat.
I have the Reaper and it’s the best playing guitar I own. The neck is super thin (it’s not the standard schecter profile). It’s a guitar I’d never get rid of! I really love the look of the RG550s, and I’ve been looking at them for maybe an option for a standard tuned Floyd guitar. With either one you’re getting a killer guitar. If you’re looking to go fast I definitely recommend the reaper
@@metalfreq1 What does my playing have to do with Ibanez making boring guitars? That makes zero sense. They can't even give them proper names. "dude check out my new Ibanez rf45lk08fw38cfj08, super cool huh?" The reaper blows it out of the water.
I think the Ibanez RG 550 is better in everything from construction, durability and performance but it's like everything. It all depends on the needs of each person.
Ibanez should use the Edge Zero II Trem on all of their guitars. I have it on the RG2XXV and I love it above every tremolo I own. It's out of the way, it's smooth and have had no issues with tuning or stability. It's on the Nita Strauss JIVA10 give it a shot.
I have the RG550 and yeah it absolutely deserves the Ibanez harshell case, but man im blown away at the value that guitar has, case or no case! I'm stunned you can even buy it at that price even WITHOUT the case. I will say though don't overlook a made in Indonesia Schecter, I have the AM6 (green one with the ebony fretboard), and it's DEFINITELY a better guitar than the RG550 (and yes it's also more expensive but rightfully so)
This Schecter has a thinner neck than this Ibanez so no Schecter doesn't have "bulky" necks. Do some actual research before throwing out false info. Schecter wins all day for the better materials used.
Just found a RG550 Ltd from 1994 at around 800 USD. Very happy with it ❤
Now THAT is awesome

DUDES CRAZY. RG550 ALL DAY BABY.
Definitely
Ibanez is so boring. I don't understand why people like them so much.
@@Journeyman2585 maybe it’s your playing bro. Tell that to Vai, Satch, etc.

um I don't know about that one
I wonder if the Schecter Sun Valley Super Schredder would have been a closer comparison.
I’ve done a video on that my friend!

RG550 yellow , looks so good ;)
I would go With the Schecter on thia One. But they are both great choices for the price range.
The neck joint on the Ibanez is a real pain. I returned mine and am saving for a Prestige with the AANJ

We need to get a 7 string face off on here. Perhaps Ibanez vs Jackson part 2? 🤔
whats your opinion on Ibanez XPTB620?

The RG550 has absolutely horrendous upper fret access. That heel joint is a crime against humanity.
I have the Purple Neon one and I've never had any issues with the square heel and upper fret access. I really don't get why people hate it.

Nah. RG all day long.
