Thanks a lot Mike! :)) The note stealing acted very differently on each take, I had some recordings where the Prophet performance was better, but mine not so... Question of compromise x)
RIP mr. Sakamoto, I liked him both with YMO and as a solo perfromer. Very well done and played, love the vintage synth. I also made a vid about YMO (Tong Poo) but with piano only shortly after his passing. I wonder since you're french and into electronic music, what are your thoughts on Jean Michelle Jarre?
I wanted to cover it sooner, but I was taken with everything else and couldn't manage to record a tribute until now. Though yours is amazingly played, it's tight you're pushing the level far x) Unlike my french colleagues, I don't appreciate much Jarre's work, nor his dad's orchestral works. The harmony just doesn't talk to me, whereas Sakamoto uses color shades that I absolutely vibe with. I also tend to think JMJ's works are rather focused on the use of a shit ton amount of synths rather than compositions. It's kinda easy to do such songs when your dad has thousands and thousands to invest in crazy costing synths that make exceptionnal sounds you know x)
@@Valmont2001 Thanks you for the kind words. And I agree with you on JMJ, I like the famous Oxygen piece, but prefer much of Sakamoto's work with YMO and as a Solo musicians. His tunes are more easy to sing and harmonies are interesting
Toujours Xcellent !!! Bisous de ton « presque » Oncle qui est si fier de ta sœur et toi (et de l’amitié qui nous lie tes parents et moi). Love and Kisses. P.S: le poster géant à l’Acienda c’était celui de Peter Hook (Joy Division), et non Paul Cook (Sex Pistols). 😗👍🏻😗
Yessss! More Prophet 600 goodness and lovely playing!
When I read your comment 2 days ago on the other Prophet video it made me want to play it again... and then I shot this video :)
@@Valmont2001 Ha, terrific!
A wonderful instrument, very well played!
sounds lovely! just discovered your channel. It's wonderful stuff man!
j'adore venir écouter tes vidéos, Valmont! Tu as le pouvoir de créer des atmosphères vraiment trop stylé avec chaque synthé. Trop cool!
Excellent!
Beautifully played! Sounded really great and I loved the way you embraced the note stealing. I hope your doing well V. :D

This is fabulous! I like how short this is versus the original, sakamoto’s kinda drags on

Let's hit the grass and take the synths with us. 😏
Was this a live performance or studio recorded?
A real performance :)
Y as des piles et des haut-parleur intégré
C'est un Prophet 600, pas un Casio tsais x) En vrai y avait 50m de câbles mais je les ai effacés au rendu avec AfterEffects
@@Valmont2001 Ha bien on voit rien !
