It's not that you can't believe, it's because you won't believe. If you believe there's a God then you'd be accountable to Him and you refuse to bend the knee to Him.
I agree that Romans 1:18-32 explains this brilliantly. If you desire to know the truth, God will reveal it to you!

For a time I believed in evolution. It's things like this video that have led me back to a belief in God. Our science and mathematics is limited. God's science and mathematics wouldn't be limited. God lives outside of our little box of knowledge and understanding.

This was by far the most interesting and amazing discussion on the existence of God. While it was easier to understand more of Dr. Lennox's explanations (and as a novice acquaintance with the different works of C.S.Lewis), Dr. Meyer's examples helped with understanding his contentions. Kirk, for me, this was one of the best interviews
I have seen on Takebacks. Thank you for your excellent choice on topic and guests.😊

The following is a true story. God told me this story is important for atheists as well as believers to hear...here now is my personal testimony. I was doing my morning ocean swim in shallow water when I was attacked by a shark and I barely made it back to shore. A large part of my thigh was missing and I was losing so much blood...I knew I was a goner and would never be able to make it for help. But then out of nowhere a surfer showed up, he looked exactly like Jesus, the white version. On that day I witnessed a set of foot prints in the sand leading away from where I laid. I called out..."hey Jesus looking dude...are you just going to just leave me here"? And he said.."do you know how much you weigh...hell yeah". And then I died. But don't worry I came back three days later. Proof! How could I have written this if I didn't come back from the dead? The End.

The funny thing about personal experience is that it is extremely persuasive to one person only. You yourself. As for other people's testimony, that requires context and vetting to see what the best explanation is. Only you know your story is true for sure but contextually I have my doubts. I find the resurrection testimony pretty persuasive. If you remove the anti supernatural bias Jesus raising from the dead makes the most sense out of the other possibilities.

Science is the use of reason and evidence to discover the laws that govern our physical universe. Religion is about discovering and aligning ourselves with the moral laws that govern our universe. Insisting that a book written 2,000 years ago be entirely consistent with science is unreasonable, and does not negate the moral truths the Bible elucidates. Moral truth and science are entirely compatible, and both reflect a transcendent God.

If man's stupidity and unbridled selfishness destroy most of life on earth, evolution, which some see as God's means of creation, will eventually produce another species capable of moral comprehension and communion with God.The tragedy of the human condition is that although we recognize the existence of a transcendent moral law, we are incapable of keeping it. @Notarabbit911

What I take from all these millions of discussions is that most people truly, deeply and sincerely believe that God's existence actually depends on humans believing one way or another. You really do talk and act as if without your belief, or with your belief for atheist, that God would not or would exist. God is up to man's thinking not it's own existence for the great majority.
I always thought that as a supernatural being that God's existence or not did not depend upon what humans thought Yet I see the vast majority of people, not realizing it most likely all think that God existing or not depends upon what they think and not upon the God itself. Almost no one ever understands this.
Now if you only believe in a God to make other people behave as you want them to, or not believe, then all these arguments claiming God either exists or doesn't make perfect sense. But if that is the case, then I must look on all these God exist or not as human political discussion instead of true inquiry into the existence of God. Does that make any sense to the rest of you?

Theists like this only try to twist science, and then only selective parts, in an effort to claim their invisible supernatural is true. (They are not using scientific method at any time) They got nothing of their own. When you look at it, science does not use supernatural religion for answers. Yet supernatural religion tries to ride sciences coat tails when it suits them. That speaks volumes about who is actually seeking and knocking for righteousness. AKA, looking for the truth. They don't belong on the same playing field.

Observable science actually verifies scripture. The Law of Biogenesis states that life only comes from preexisting life. That means the origin of life has to be an eternal living source. What do we know from documented history that fits that qualification? Only God.
Scripture is documented history and every claim that it makes which can be verified using the scientific method has been verified. Archeologists actually use the Bible as primary source material in understanding artifacts being unearthed in the Middle East today. Archeology is a field that specializes in both science AND history. That means people who reject scripture fit the category of observable science denying documented history deniers. Sounds like you are a believer, but I won't assume. If you haven't already done so please accept observable science and documented history; declare Jesus as your Lord, believe in your hearty that God raised him from death and you will be saved (Romans 10:9).

The phrase "son of God" has two parts: one is "son of" - which can be proved - the second is "of God" - an idea which exists solely in the imagination and can have no proof. The miracles in the gospels were supposed to prove that their performer, Jesus, was the son of God. But they do not. All human history has no beginning or direction by any creature belonging to the supernatural. Science has shut down the supernatural in favor of those things which are real. Science can make a case for God only if it can prove that he/she/it/them is/are real.

The err with the "KJV only religion".. Is they claim to have ALLLLLLLL scripture... contained within their compilation of scrolls. Totally ignoring Enoch, amongst other writings, that Christ himself quoted (Matthew 22:29-30) and CALLED SCRIPTURE! Also Jude who quoted Enoch. So called "bible scholars", who like politicians, try to explain all this away by giving us just a few candidates/options to believe in or vote for. Just don't ask questions lol. Especially about history...namely so called "American history" but I digress lol. 2 Timothy 3:16 Says... "All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."
Did Paul have ALLLLLL scripture when he wrote this? Did he know what he was writing was going to be considered scripture???
Scripture is ONLY meant for 4 things. Doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction... Nowhere does it mention Salvation! Christ himself said that the scriptures only POINT to Him! That the scriptures will not save you! (John 5:39-40) Yet people refuse to come to Him and allow Him to know them for this salvation. Just because you have a book (the bible), used by men, to claim authority with the legalized and authorized name Jesus Christ (like "the doctrine of discovery")... And use His name in equity... Doesn't mean He won't still say... Depart from me... I NEVER KNEW YOU. Huge difference between letting or allowing Christ to know you...than thinking of how much about Christ you think you know! Satan does not care how much you think you know about Christ. Furthermore... You cannot truly KNOW Christ UNLESS you allow Him to know you! He first knows us...if you let Him. And that has NOTHING to do with a bible lol. What would have been the purpose of Christ coming to earth...dying..being ressurected..us GIVEN the Holy Spirit!!!....... If an incomplete or complete compilation of scrolls had ALLLLL the words contained within them to save you??? What would have been the purpose??? Want to know The Word (Christ)? Let Him know you... The good, the bad, the ugly and everything in between. The Word IS Christ... Preserved perfectly in Him.. Every jot and tittle😊 I love the scriptures... I just don't idolize them.

It's a story, in large parts copied from other stories...Baucis and Philemon is plagiarized in the story about Loth and his wife. Pandora was the first woman (like Eve) created by the Greek gods. Like Eve, Pandora was created in the image of her creator. Pandora opened a box she was told not to open (like the fruit Yahweh told Eve not to eat) and once she opened the box, evil came out of it. Both Pandora and Eve were curious and tempted, and both the ancient Greeks and Christians (with the idea of Original Sin) use their disobedience to God to explain why disease. They stole not only from the Greeks: The gods Adonis, Tammuz, Osiris and Dionysus died and were then resurrected. The Gilgamesh Story has a great flood which the Genesis flood story follows “point by point and in the same order.
Most of the Bible is just plain weird nonsense. I for one am glad that this book is but myth, a chaotically cobbled-together anthology of disjointed documents, composed, revised, translated, distorted and 'improved' by hundreds of anonymous authors, editors and copyists, unknown to us and mostly unknown to each other, spanning nine centuries, and nothing else. It does not take much to see that that is what we are dealing here. (for most people).
