Just met Dr. MacArthur Tuesday at the Answers for Pastors...what a humble and gracious man of God he is. So blessed to have heard his two messages in KY.
Truly amazing ! Truly encouraging ! Truly a blessing ! I can't wait to visit Pastor Dever's local church in WA - and Pastor MacArthur's local church in CA .... I pray for you men - continue the work that God has put in your hearts ! First Corinthians 10:31
I do not know Mark Dever personally, but I worked and served in 9Marks ministry for 3 years as a translator. I have translated into Spanish some of his books. One of them is Discipling. When I was translating the books I felt like if I knew him because of the spiritual connection. The Holy Spirit makes us all Christians a family.
Thanks for posting this video, I fellowshipped at Pastor Dever's Church before the pandemic, his doctrine is very similar to Pastor John Macarthur's, who inspired me to walk away from a cult 14 years ago. ⛪💟
There's way too much of a celebrity culture in mainstream evangelicalism. It's not Mark Dever's Church there in Washington DC, (it's the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, wherever Mark Dever or whoever else may be serving as pastor at). Nowhere in scripture is a church ever identified with or by the name of an Apostle or pastor such as Paul's Church, or Peter's Church ect. (the place yes, but never the man). Also, the fact that the whole room is clapping when he comes up to preach makes it seem that the focus and the praise is on the man rather than God. All the applause that goes on in churches these days is more indicative of a show and a performance rather than biblical worship. These things do steal glory from God and should be realized and repented of.
@SpurgeoniteTo say "would you like to visit a Christian church, or evangelical church?/The church where I attend or am a member" would be better and more biblical. Or in the days of celebrity Pastors where they are pulling in six figures at least something like "let's go to the church where Mr. Spurgeon is the pastor." BTW, it should never have been called Spurgeons Metrolopolitan Tabernacle in my opinion. (Isaiah 2:22)
That same pattern is done all throughout city churches: First Baptist Church of Glenarden Opening: 12:15am between 3 and 5 gospel songs of various styles (Antebellum Gospel; American Gospel; Soul Gospel; Psalms, Hymns; Spiritual songs) evenly ministered out to us by Director of Music Steven Hurd and Assistant Director Anthony Brown and Group Therapy and the 3-4 various choirs 2. Praise and worship 3. Attentions 4. Prayers 5. Upcoming Events & Presentations 6. Prayers 7. Tithes and offerings (spiritual songs of blessing, worship and divine provision with Thanksgiving to God) 8. Pastor's Celebration and Welcome! 9. Corporate Prayer (all in building hold hands only if confident person is faithfully living for Christ and his/her prayers will be heard) 10. The Biblical teaching of God's word 11. Invitation to be redeemed (A begging to hear God calling: Unsaved Backslidden (a rededication) Unsure of salvation Seeking church home to unite with Corporate Prayers for those above Benediction We out - 1:30pm to 2pm. Mark Dever has gone off the rails. MacArthur has no connection to him anymore. This video is from along time ago. Dever is from the woke church movement.
@@doctrinalwatchdog6268 I’m certainly anti-abortion myself but I l’m not going to judge someone if they want to vote for someone who is pro-abortion. For example, with the way Congress is situated right now (majority anti-abortion) it doesn’t seem like Biden would be able to put in place any pro-abortion legislation. So for someone who doesn’t want to vote for Trump, I don’t see a problem with voting for Biden. And I think the issue of whether or not churches in states with strict laws (like MacArthur’s in California) should be meeting on Sunday is not black and white. I can see how a pastor like MacArthur could justify meeting in defiance of the governor’s requests. Weekly gatherings are certainly helpful in maintaining the health of the local church, but I also think that there are at least a few good reasons for not meeting yet. I think it’s important that we empathize with one another in times like these instead of being divisive. I think Dever gave his opinions with respect and tact without condemnation
@@bv6108 kinda wishy washy and, it's wrong to think a strong stance on what is right is somehow "divisive". 50 years ago NO Christian would ever dream of supporting Biden's policies, you are a frog in a pot of water and you don't even notice you are being cooked to death.
Unless you are to the Right of Jack Chick Publications you are 90 percent of the time innoculated against the real thing as a not even Laodecian or an undercover satanist adjacent posing as a Christiandom. The Necessity of Sanctification: A Brief Refutation of the Carnal Christian Heresy.... Throughout its history the church has been plagued with two heretical teachings regarding sanctification. One error confounds justification with sanctification and thus makes salvation dependent upon faith in Christ and good works. This is the heresy of legalism. This teaching in various forms is found throughout church history: the Judaizers of Paul's day, the Ebionites, various church fathers, Roman Catholicism, certain Anabaptist groups and various modern cults. The other main heresy regarding sanctification completely divorces sanctification from justification in such a manner that the necessity of sanctification in the Christian life is completely denied. Sanctification is said to be optional for believers. This is the heresy of antinomianism. The ancient form of antinomianism was Nicolaitan Gnosticism. The modern form that plagues "evangelicalism" is dispensationalism. Classical dispensationalism teaches that repentance belongs to the "dispensation of law" and not "the dispensation of grace." Old style dispensationalists will argue that if repentance and sanctification are required of Christians, then salvation is not by faith in Christ alone but also in works. In such a scheme, professing Christians who refuse to submit to Christ as Lord and who refuse to lead lives characterized by obedience and holiness are called "carnal Christians." This heretical teaching has been called "easy believism" and "the carnal Christian heresy." Sadly, such teaching has led countless thousands of poor souls down the broad path that leads to destruction. Many churches are filled with antinomian, unregenerate professors of Christianity who merely think of Christ as a fire escape from hell--who want the blessings of heaven but who are unwilling to depart from the sinful pleasures of this world. With the current popularity of such teaching a consideration of the necessity of sanctification is in order. First, however, it should be noted that although the Bible teaches the necessity of personal holiness or sanctification in a believer's life, it never gives personal holiness a meritorious role in salvation. Sanctification is not necessary in order to be saved but everyone who is saved will be sanctified. In other words, faith without works is dead. It is counterfeit. Christ saves His people from the guilt of sin and from its power.
@@doctrinalwatchdog6268 What's wrong with being a democrat? The Bible doesn't tell us which political party to go with, only which God to serve. And both parties have been wrong on many things before.

Dever is now catering to wokeism. So be careful, read your bible like a berean.
I seriously doubt that John MacArthur would endorse him the same way now.
Which tells me JM lacks biblical discernment. Has he publically retracted his endorsement, do you know?
Why?
I bet Dever would not allow MacArthur to preach there today
Love it !
Br. John, you should come to Louisiana.
