Take your time with getting a base melody you're happy with because that's what's gonna be helping you get ideas for every other part of the beat. Make what feels right, you aren't going to get on fl and know how a finished beat is gonna sound like. so it's best to go with what sounds good in the moment and build ideas off that. Take it one step at a time and let every part of the beat have a purpose
