The $1,650 Kenmore Elite 41072 washing machine holds more than your average front-loader. It's tough on stains, too.
I have a different model from Kenmore. It does a good job cleaning but gets super hit while drying. Also, I now have to remember to push the option to keep fresh after drying and give it added time or it stops while everything is still hot and then it’s a race to get things on hangers or folded immediately because they wrinkle without the cool down time. I also can’t dry cotton socks or they shrink into baby sized socks. Buyers remorse. I miss the quicker non wrinkling machines, even if I did have to move clothes to the dryer.
I wonder how energy efficient this washer is? Certainly with a 5.2 cu drum, that thing must be a beast
It makes its own power. Turn the drum by hand when it's unplugged and it attempts to power on.
For that price it should have been made by Speed Queen. At least then it would hold up for 20 years!

Speed Queen is a pos. It doesn't clean worth a shit. What's the point of having it forever when it doesn't clean

@@LarryMarston I agree! Had one and would use powder detergent at first, and it wouldn’t even mix up the detergent. After the cycle the clothes were covered in powered detergent like you didn’t even wash them.
I am A technician that works on washer and dryers and I would not recommend this washer to anyone, unless you have loads of money to waste.
Why? Because it doesn't make money for the repair business? This is a 3rd set of Kenmore Elites I have purchased since 2008. First pair for my family, a second pair in 2011 for my sister's wedding and these for my parents in 2016. The only problem was an intermittent control board on one of the units I got for my sister and it was under warranty. No other issues aside from having to clean the pump filter out on ours. What problems should I be aware of?
Can you elaborate on this, please? This is made by LG, who have very high reliability ratings.
CmaxEnergi LG likes to change part number and change the way they manufacture parts causing new parts not to fit in older machines. I've seen cases where a LG washer is only 3 years old and some parts and no longer available example some control boards have to be sent out and rebuilt. That will leave you with out a working washer for a minimum of 2 weeks with other Brands parts and easily accessible. Nothing is wrong with Kenmore it is LG I am not a fan

Have you noticed it takes a very long time to wash and dry? And that the dryer always includes the spin cycle? which adds water to the load...
No washer has ever been manufactured by Kenmore. It's just a name Sears slaps on all the products they sell

I did a ton of research before buying kenmore elites only to be disappointed, I barely had them a couple years before the problems started and by year 3 the mother board went out.... I’ll stick to economical cheap ones

We bought our house with this washing machine and I literally hate it no matter how many times I clean the rubber circle we get mold!!
I’ve used frontloads and similar devices and the have a lot of moisture left over. You have to leave the doors open after the cycle to let them air out and dry completely.
