didn't see how you boiled the water..? I don't want to carry a camp stove when i'm backpacking. Can that water carafe be put directly into the campfire..?
I boiled the water in the GSI Minimalist pot on top of my homemade alcohol stove (pictured at the bottom left corner at 4:30) The pot is annodized, so I'm not sure if it is "open fire" safe. I'm sure it would work just not sure how the aluminium would hold up over many boils...in and out of the fire. Hope that helps ya out Thanks for watching!
Hey Bill, bought the coffee drip at Backcountrygear.com , but seems they no longer carry it. Found a couple on Amazon/Ebay and of course you could order directly from Mont Bell...but it is crazy expensive. My friend just picked up a similar filter from GSI for a fraction of the cost and seems to do the trick just as well , granted it is a wee bit heavier. www.gsioutdoors.com/ultralight-java-drip.html Hope this helps ya out!
