Agon - possibly the first hex-based 2-player strategy game. (It's in all the big board game books.)

The word Agon is related to the word "agony" - but the game isn't all that much torture to play. You'll see this game in a lot of game books and websites, but it's hard to find in the retail world.
Invented in Victorian England, it saw some popularity with the aristocracy, but never really caught on with the general public. I think it's the unique look of the game that keeps it in the books and how-to sites.

Ha ha - thanks. They'll land on the moon again when it becomes profitable. (Back in the '70s it was "we" landed on the moon, now it's "they." Interesting how our society has changed, isn't it?)
