Just stumbled across this. I have seen Al at least 50+ times between solo, Orchestra, True Believers, Buick McKane, et al. THIS lineup is my all time fave. Saw this lineup 3 times. Not sure if there is a name for it, but I call it the Burns Something Beautiful Band, for obvious reasons.
Alejandro never ceases to amaze me. A brilliant bandleader, musician, songwriter and an uncategorical artist, unless never a half-assed artist committed to excellence in music…and a really nice guy who has been burnt by the music business at least once, because one o my favorite songs never saw the lit of day, thanks to rykodisc…..look up Crooked Frame. It’s one of his very best songs that drives the nail into the coffin of a bad relationship….like a hurricane for sure on the emotional spectrum. Dang, what a special surprise cover on this one. Thank you algorithm
well, coming into this video kinda late but manomanomanowomanowoman, AE and NY, yeah. I saw AE do this at Lukes Locker in Austin in 2012. Blew me away then blows me away now. The f***ing song just levels me. and by the way, i went to see who would dislike this and ended up disliking it much to my regret so take one dislike away from that total above

Omg! Susan Voelz on violin; such intensity. Super, super good. I agree that Alejandro is a national treasure.

These guys are crazy awesome good!! I cannot stop listening to them!!! Freaking mesmerizing ❤
I love this song (used to play it live when I was in a band)... Loved the violin, it really lifts it!
Alejandro just kicks it into another gear man. Love how he just lets the music breath! Tremendous!
I saw them perform this song 3 days earlier in Milwaukee. Such a great performance. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Great Jeebus above, that was fucking phenomenal! Love Alejandro. Blistering guitar at its best, and the violin/fiddle play makes it all the better.
Ojo al duelo entre el violín de Susan Voelz y la guitarra de Escovedo!
Wow the croosfire Voelz (violin) vs Escovedo (guitar)!
Wonderful! Thank you!
🙏
Love Scott McCaughney’s guitar on this one!
Susan Voelz - Alejandro's secret weapon.

Can Peter Buck be any less interested?
+Bill Breed Or interesting for that matter
+ali swan You're kidding, right? I have a feeling that I do NOT want to know who your musical heroes are.
That's what makes him cool
Ha! Well sometimes in rock & roll, your job is just to stay out of the way, stand in the shadows, and contribute your part in an unobtrusive manner.
