Love your videos. As you said, Cambodians are really quite honest. A few days ago, I purchased a $1 cup of coffee at my local. The bill was 4000 Riel. I gave 5 single thousand Riel notes. Four for the coffee and one as a tip. The lady walked away and immediately returned as I mistakenly given her 4x 1000, but the fith one was a 10,000 rial note. She could have kept it and i would never have known, as I'm still getting used to the currency. Lol. Gave her an extra tip for being honest, and that's one of the reasons it's my go-to place. Love Cambodia. ❤

I went to Cambodia all the way back in 2005 and had the best chicken “kuytiev” (pho/rice noodles) I’ve ever had! The chicken was so flavorful and tasty. I need to go back and eat all the street food! Yum 😋

We do eat our tomatoes red as well hehehe but it depends on which dishes you're eating. As a Cambodian, I believe beef lok lac is originated in Vietnam but very popular in Cambodia after the Khmer Rouge war. Most chicken rice you'd eat is with free range or grass fed chicken, or cows, that's why it tastes different.

Wok😊-They are very expensive an in every experience we have had they have been poor quality. Also we try to buy things when we are traveling that we will actually use instead of impulse buys. Its like buying practical souvenirs 😁 We have been looking for a good steel wok for ages😁 We tried one from Amazon but it was expensive and because we are in the tropics it rusted very quickly.
@@vintagefoodfarm You have to season the wok so they won't rust. When you clean them, you just use water and wooden brush or soft brush to clean foods out. You should never use soap. If you season it right, it would not rust. By the way, I try to tell you what I know. You probably know Cambodia more than I do today. When I came out of the service, I spoke Cambodians backward. They were laughing at all the time. I visited Cambodia once in 2003. They didn't understand what I was saying. They know the words I used. But they just couldn't figure out what I was trying to say. I think it's just custom or culture. For me, I'm a very independent person. In Cambodia, that is the no no. You must obey those who are older than you. The same thing applies to money and wealth. You can do anything when you have money and wealth. You can yell at people. They still think you are a great person. You know what it means in the west. We live a very different life. When I arrived at the airport, we were taken away through a door before we got to the main terminal by a soldier in uniform. I had no idea what happened. We went into a VIP building where everything look like western building. They took our passports. And they brought them back with our luggage. Someone sent something for that soldier from America via my sister. He happened to be a general who was in charge of the airport. I was lucky. That's Cambodia that I don't care for.
