Anyone who reads the Word of God daily ,Book by book chapter by chapter, verse by verse , in context or sits under a preacher that exegesis the Word of God in context will gain discernment. Hearing the Word of God daily in context. One begins to discern the truth of Gods Word over traditions or church dogma . There are exceptional preachers like John MacArthur that have taught or preach like this . Many.

So true, but mainly they are boosting themselves up. We all tend to put more on ourselves than we should. They really need prayers especially for the people who listen to them. Nowadays I’m skeptical of who I listen to. People like Kat Kerr, Sid Roth don’t bother me because it’s just so “out there” but it’s the ones that put some truth into it and don’t sound nuts that really worry me. So many people are being deceived. It’s sad. That’s why I love MacArthur and others who actually read the Bible as they teach, expecting the audience to do the same And don’t say “God told me to tell you this “ when the Bible says you don’t need anyone to teach you because the Holy Spirit will guide you (can’t remember which chapter/verse or the exact words) but if we read and pay close attention we can figure it out. Thank You I'm newly saved by Jesus I was Roman Catholic for 58 years until Jesus saved me so I'm confused by all these pastors that I want to believe but finding many have there own agenda and it's manipulation of the word . It's really scary for me because I have no one everyone in my family and friends are all gone when it comes to my faith in God .
Jesus told us there would be a lot of deception, and there definitely is. Jesus is primarily interested in your heart. Men want to debate and discuss any number of issues that are not clear in the Bible. It’s okay to seek clarity and have an opinion but we have to treat those with other opinions as brothers in Christ unless they are teaching heresy. There are only a few tenants of the faith (the fundamentals) that if not adhered to constitute heresy. So listen to who you will but check out carefully what they say by careful reading of any scriptures they use in context and with prayer, asking God to reveal the truth by His Spirit. If something doesn’t sit right just hold onto it loosely until God convinces your Spirit one way or the other. Shalom!!

This is what I came to say also. I had not thought of the Transfiguration before because none of them would be close to death before that event.
I had 1 prophetic dream in my 20s. So I wrote an email to the pastor of my church at the time because he was the main character in the dream. I told him about it and he said that is wasn't a prophecy. Well it was and it came true to the determent of the church and his marriage. He was warned and didn't listen.
Just because I had one dream that came to pass. I DO NOT think I am a prophet on any level. God just used me to warn this pastor at the time.

@@tomtemple69 i think our brains jumble things we are pondering throughout the day and we can get weird dreams that way. Pizza can play a part…my guess it is the late night sauce. Lol. There are legitimate dreams and visions though. I have had a handful in 40 years of being a CHristian and the ones i knew that were different and not just my imaginations, came to pass and/or didn’t contradict anything in scripture. Most of the stuff today is the imaginations of peoples hearts.
Far too many people-both Christian & non-claim to "know" things based on dreams, visions, intuition, and feelings. What is sad, if not downright depressing, are the cases where failure is explained away as the "prophet" moves on to the next grift without skipping a beat.
I always wondered why an all powerful God would choose to communicate in the most obfuscated ways possible. I've known many people who "hear" from God. Usually it's "feelings in the heart". Many other times it's coincidences happening, sometimes seeing something odd in the sky, and quite often dreams. But dreams are also, like you say, usually frivolous nothings of the subconscious. Except not when God is using them? Think about this: what is the most basic, fundamental form of human communication. Speaking. Literal spoken words. When we want to convey something to another person, we go the them and speak it. But when God wants to tell you something, he co-opts an emergent property of a biological function that is well known to produce fantasies with no conscious input. Just doesn't make sense to me.
Don’t know about Todd Bentley, but I do believe we need to forgive people and restore them when they repent and show the fruits thereof.

As I write in my first book (on Pauline Dispensationalism), I believe what Jesus was saying to Peter was that John would indeed see the Second Coming before he died, which he did see and recorded for us in The Revelation of Jesus Christ (the prophecies of which are yet future).

Actually John did see the Second Coming because of what he was allowed to see and wrote the book of Revelation. So the prophecy was fulfilled on the island of Patmos. So John is dead like the rest of the disciples.

At age 17 Jesus spoke to me in my bedroom on a Sunday afternoon and said it is time to get saved. As an intellicual minded person I said that makes sense and accepted Jesus as my Savior, that was over 50 years ago. I immediately called a church and explained what just happen and needed a ride to church. No matter how hard I tried they seemed confused so called another church, a Church of God and they picked me up. I grew and learned a lot at that church and found out the other church was a charismatic church. I believe to this day that God confused them.
Church of God is a charismatic church. How do I know? My mother’s family was part of the Church of God of Prophecy, a church that broke off of the CoG. They are big on faith, but very shallow on reading or studying the Bible. Their pastors are Bible college trained if trained at all. There are women that are pastors in some of their churches. They speak in tongues but do not have interpreters.

I knew Chris Reed before he went to morning star. His gifting was real. He told me something about myself that nobody could possibly know unless God showed them. Was in a church service where Chris prayed for a woman who had a big goiter or lump in her throat that everyone could see. The lump disappeared. Chris then prayed for a man with a short leg who had to wear a special shoe that was built up.
The leg grew out in front of everyone's eyes . Many filmed it with their phones.
A friend of mine from Mississippi said Chris was preaching in his area and prayed for a blind person and they got their sight back .
I don't know what Chris is now, but i can tell you he is real and God has used him greatly in the past.
Now, in fairness of this video, why Chris would say in an interview the things he is saying, I don't understand. Even if he believes his dream, he should of kept it to himself instead of making us all think he has lost his mind.
Now im not trying to make excuses for him, but sometimes dreams can be from God and have a spiritual meaning, but if the person is not careful, they can think its literally going to happen. Of course some times the dream isn't from God, we just ate to many 🌮 before bedtime. I hate to see Chris ruin his ministry like this. But if i was blind or deaf, i would have Chris Reed pray over me before i would most preachers in America.

If we aren't gathering, we are scattering, and the charismatic movement is not a move of God. Remember, there are saved Roman Catholics. But as a general rule, Roman Catholics are not saved because they are bogged down in idolatry and works salvation. Similarly, charismatics undermine scripture, attribute falsehood to the Holy Spirit, exalt man, deny God's sovereignty, etc. There are degrees to be sure, but that type of stuff is straight from hell.
Well I tend to differ. I’ve been attending a Pentecostal church for 30 years in Australia & i guess it may be a bit different over here. So no, "The(re) be some standing here which shall not see (taste) death.." is referring to the same final event. John is being told that He will have to witness AGAIN. This supports as a second witness Jesus' statement that he would not taste death until He literally comes. The two witnesses cannot be figurative only. They literally die and their dead bodies literally lie dead in the streets for 3.5 days in the same place where Jesus was crucified.
[Rev 11:8 KJV] 8 And their dead bodies [shall lie] in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. This is completely literal. It cannot be spiritualized away. It is as literal as the abomination of desolation.

It’s amazing what some people will do and how far they will go to use total lies about being in direct contact with Jesus and GOD the Father to push a narrative. It’s got to be about raising money or just plain mental illness but either way they have no fear of what they are doing to themselves and their followers. These people will pay a very heavy price whenever they face GOD on judgement day because these false prophets are committing heresy and have no guilt about doing it.

One of the people that I came to Jesus through was Sid Roth in the late 1970' s. I went to a Messianic congregation in Rockville, Md. for years. They were a little more Biblical back then. I really was into the charismatic movement until about the middle 1980' s when I read John MacArthur s book about them. It takes a lot of explanation on whether miracles, prophets and demonic oppression still occurs. However, when I started going to a more evangelical church, I began to learn about the Bible and not just the miraculous.
MacArthur is an anti-charismatic and brainwashed you. Salvation knowledge is good, but apparently he never had a Holy Ghost born again encounter with the Holy Spirit.

Most 'Christians' have made an idol of their paper bibles and haven't noticed the grievous changes that are happening to every translation. Every page of the bible has changes and the blind dont see "because they love not the truth".

But then, everytime I read the Book of Revelation, I notice it is John again who wrote that the angel told him , "Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings"- Rev 10:11.
