Justin Peters your ministry has been a tremendous blessing to me and my wife. We have been going throughout a trial season in our lives and I just want to say thank you. We have been amazed at how gentle and caring you are. The simple notion of calling your viewers Dear Ones has touched us tremendously. My recent pastor before I moved gave me one piece of advice and that was to stay sweet. You live that to such a beautiful level. Youve also been a great deal of hope for me. I am only 19 but a few years ago I knew that God wants me to go into ministry and trial after trial came and one of the greatest ones was finding out that I have a genetic condition that is going to make physical labor hard on me. My connective tissue is significantly weaker than normal. I was concerned and pondered whether or not God really wanted me in ministry. I couldn't see anything else but thought that theres no way with a condition like I have. But seeing you and your ministry gave me such hope and reminded me that it doesn't about who I am or what conditions I have. Its about full dedication to Gods Word. You consistently video after video remind me of that truth where God is the true centrality of our lives. Thank you and may the Lord our Father in Heaven bless you and keep you.

Drink plenty of bottled water and supplement that with oranges and mandarins. Jesus said, Go ye into the world and preach the gospel. I don't know if I consider myself to be a Charismatic (or not) When I was unsaved, my High School friends, Connie, Penny, and Penny's Mom went to the Assembly of God Church in the next town.. Penny's Mom would give us rides over there, because none of us had cars at that time...We were all college students...I started going there because I was curious and I was wondering what a non--Catholic Church looked like on the inside...I wasn't seeking God in any way...That A/G Church was pretty conservative...They sang "old school" hymns, and sat still during their services...If people were running around the Church, it would have scared me..I was only used to the Catholic Church at that time... People like to stereotype Pentecostal/Charismatic Churches, but that A/G Church was almost like a Baptist Church..My friend, Connie,.was instrumental in leading me to The Lord...Her Church was very evangelical and not 🚫 at all "kooky" or weird❤🩵
After I left Kenneth Copeland Ministries because the Lord lifted the blinders off my eyes and the earplugs out of my ears I realized that holy scripture is the only authority, not men, because men can lead you astray into very dangerous spiritual territory. Thank you Justin, you are one of the few men I will listen to because you base everything you discuss backed up by holy scripture. Holy scripture is a safe pathway as far as I am concerned. Holy scripture is tried and true.

I just recently had an exchange with a friend of mine who went to see Jenn Johnson in concert a month or two ago. No matter how much evidence to the contrary that you present to someone like my friend, they remain firmly convinced that Johnson just "loves Jesus so much" -- it's like talking to a brick wall. Only an intervention by the real Holy Spirit -- not Johnson's "blue genie" -- can change the heart of someone caught in Bethel's hellish grip.

Im very happy you got out of that crazy life. My family and others i know will not have anything to do with me bc I'm trying to show what is wrong about the charismatic movement. Now I'm being told I'm backslidden. They won't watch videos I share with them. Its a brick wall and I'm fed up. How did you get out of it?
@@anneboychuk989I have a 94 year old mother-in-law who we moved in with us as she needs assitance these days and she was steeped for over 50 years in the Charismatic movement. She idolized Joyce Meyer, Oral Roberts and all the rest. I have been using what I have learned from Justins minstry to help teach her the errors of what she was taught. It has been a couple of years now and she attends my bible beleiving church, loves to watch John MacArthur and R.C. Sproul now and has stopped watching the WOF/NAR, DAYSTAR,TBN, GODTV and the rest for about two years now. I beleive the Lord is working on her. I always pray for her salvation and understanding of God's true written word. I know Charismatics can be difficult as much as a J.W. or Mormon or any other cult fornthat manor. All you can do is show them the truth in Scripture in a loving way a let God do the rest. I hope this is helpful.
I'm also an ex charismatic. I'm In The Orthodox Church Now. Pretty recently, I've been hitting a brick wall. I have immediate family who's angry at me. This immediate family member is a charismatic Calvinist, believes God still gives ongoing revelation, got really upset when I was playing a Justin Peters video. I'm in my thirties, believed all sorts of crazy stuff too in my early twenties. This family member thinks I don't Believe God is involved in life, because I don't believe ongoing revelation. Well, I Believe God Is Involved, He's Given us A Perfect Book, It Tells us What To Do. Orthodoxy, just like The Reformed Movement rejects new revelation and charismatic heresy. If u need new revelation to believe God is involved, don't pickup your Bible, because u don't Believe The Bible. Forget The Book Of Revelation, because It's not Enough for u if u need new revelation. Anybody who needs new revelation has a very, low, view of God.

The old saying "its easier to deceive someone than to convince them they have been deceived" it spot on in the charismatic movement. My one friend is still listening slavely to this man. She introduced me to Furtick. Please help me to make her understand about this wolf. Because the promises of God's Word is misunderstood, unfamiliar and scary (because we don't know the character of God), a lot of people are desperate for assurance. Charismatics do have a theological weakness in that they want to recreate the events of Pentecost on each Sunday. The focus should always be on Jesus. Now on the other hand, just because someone makes a mistake, or goes off track doesn't mean they are a "heretical teacher". Instead of bashing people you should be praying that they read the Bible, and the Holy Spirit shows them their errors. The phrase "worship to me" simply means from my perspective. No one can explain the experience of every single Christian in the world. The difference between you and most Charismatics is you are reformed and hold to "sola scriptura"; most Charismatics are influenced by Wesleyanism, which says there are 4 sources of theology; scripture, reason, experience, and tradition. Now conservatives within the Charismatic movement will say that anything within reason, experience or tradition that does not line up with the Bible, needs to be thrown out. What you said about Benny Hinn asking for thousand dollar offerings is spot on; your critique here is more about how Charismatics like different styles of music, and want the experience of Pentecost every sunday. If I had my preference I would have 2 or 3 people on the platform with an acoustic guitar, acoustic bass, and some bongos and the music wouldn't be as loud; but that's my preference, it's not gospel.
Thank you Justin for your ongoing devotion and work to your calling. I am a South African that grew up in a charasmatic church, my father did what he thought was best for us but fortunately he also moved away from it. So I say this with sincerity and mean no offence, but this whole 'movement' is strongly led by the USA, majority of these so called preachers are American, the rest of the world just follows suit. I know an AOG Pastor that told the congregation they needed to give the church and its land to him personally. They did. He sold the land to a developer and left town.
Justin, are we sure when they say "worship to me" that we should understand them to be taken at their word? As in they themselves are the objects / idols being worshipped by those in the audience or congregation? Keep in mind the "lovers of self" in the epistles. Keep up the work of proclaiming the Gospel.

@@peacefuldoves I feel blessed being part of Redeemer Bible Church. Indirectly Justin Peters & Costi Hinn is how I eneded up there. They don't know that, but it is funny how it helped me find RBC. I was about ready to give up on finding a biblicaly sound church because there are a lot of weird ones around here, when one day I was watching a video where Justin and Costi were talking and I was surprised to see how Costi had turned away from his uncle's teaching. I looked up Costi and saw he was one of the pastors at this little church close to my house and thought I would check it out. Since day one they were able to get me into a mens bible study and have learned so much from attending RBC. My wife who was not a beleiver started going after a while without me even asking her and she is really starting to learn Gods word. My 94 year old mother-in-law was wrapped up in the WOF/NAR for over 50 years and now she attends RBC with us and has since stopped watching the TBN, GODTV, DAYSTAR, Joyce Meyer and others nonsense. I praise God for all these blessings.
I was Born Again in a charismatic church. Been in different denominations since and now God has led me to Unlearning some of the lies man/traditions. Despite everything God was with me back than and through every other church and have learned the hard way, to put complete faith and trust in God alone and not man. God is not a disappointment to those who know and love Him. This woman is following another god not the God of the Bible. Definitely weird. I grew up and spent many adult years in the charismatic movement. I heard a lot of similar foolishness over time. I was typically one to hang back and observe the goings-on with a general sense of confusion, feeling like something inside was defective because I was not experiencing what others did. I am chagrined I let others manhandle me in prayer for years to try to summon up what they called the greater gifts of the Holy Spirit. I was forever chasing but never feeling anything but empty. I finally felt my eyes open when my old church invited in a NAR guest speaker that I could not ignore concerns about. When I researched him, it was like a house of cards fell on everything I was raised on. My family and I hightailed it out of there. I now feel He kept me all these years from getting fully sucked in so I could now warn others. Thank you for what you do here. It is vital.

I like going back to original languages, too. The church we moved to had a wonderful pastor for a lot of years that was the same way, so that has been very helpful. He always encouraged us not to take his word for it and study further on our own. He passed away a couple of years ago, but I carry his counsel with me to this day.

One thing that is common with these kind of new-charismatic churches (today’s, because charismatic churches has been in a good sense for a long time already) is that they make jokes of God and His word...and twist the Word (and this lady even admits her ignorance concerning it)...but it’s the lack of respect that’s so obvious. They point out onto the closeness with God without taking the only road that leads to the Father, which is through the blood of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. And that’s no joke. At all. Friends of ours, the husband enjoyed bill, todd white talks. He also believed in evolution. In spite of being church goers he eventually fell away. It is sad for his wife who also believes in interpretation etc, she still prays. Sadder, their young son, 16, is not walking a good path. The youngest, tomboy girl has alluded to confusion with her g3nd3r on FB. We don't know how the eldest is doing. The damage these play pastors do is devastating. May God have mercy on us all.

I too would like to hear a non charismatic commentary on this, even years later away from that horrible movement there's still things I don't understand and what they mean, I am a cessationist because I see ZERO proof miracles besides salvation happen today, and that actual Biblical tongues, unlearned languages, are spoken...as a kid I was TERRIFIED of speaking in tongues! I got nagged and bullied and told I didn't have the Holy Spirit and I wanted nothing to do with the charismatic view of the baptism of the Holy Spirit because of tongues, and kid me imagined somebody laying hands on me and then talking really fast and saying unintelligible nonsense and of course if I voiced my fear of tongues I got told that the devil made me scared because he didn't understand tongues...silly charismatics! The devil was an angel and if tongues really is the language angels speak he darn well knows it!

Very saddened to see SO much venom between various “camps” of beliefs. Whether it’s cessationism vs. continuationism, Calvinism vs. Arminianism, “saved by grace vs. asking Jesus into the heart, there is not one single preacher/pastor, scholar, or theologian who has it all understood PERFECTLY. So in the meantime, exercise humility and sprinkle it with some much needed grace. I’d love to see ministries teach more on food for the LAMBS than fodder for the WOLVES. In other words, we have enough channels already shedding light on the dark. How about teaching on good and acceptable preaching? Good and acceptable music?
First off, what do you mean when you use the word venom? I usually see this word attached to a personal attack based upon feelings, not the Word of God. Granted we are all not perfect but you seem to be in favor of a live-and-let-live Christianity, yet that is not what the Bible teaches. I also do not understand what you mean by "humility", as if humility is all that is needed instead of being rooted and grounded in the word of God. Above all you miss the point of the type of ministry this is. You want preaching and music and I know of several ministries that are very biblical in this area, though I believe Jesus would rather have us being discipled so that we can disciple others. Anything with John MacArthur, or Paul Washer, or Voddie Baucham, or R. C. Sproul, or John Barnett's ministry DTBM are great to learn from so we may teach others also.

First, I'm not at all a "live and let live" believer. You deduced that from very little information about me. I'm committed to God's WORD and not at all in the lane of Progressive Christianity. Twisting the Word of God by creating a composite Jesus is in no way the real Biblical Jesus, and that's what progressives do. What I didn't say was that I find it all so utterly disheartening and not at all entertaining when they make jokes (as some do). I've seen that quite a bit on UA-cam. And for Justin Peters to say, "Why are charismatics so weird?' is troubling in the way he distilled ALL charismatics down to being "weird." I'm not charismatic but know quite a few and in no way can make a judgment. I won't get into the continuation of the "gifts' or other arguments that leave people chasing their tails like Calvin vs Arminius, etc. I will say firmly that salvation is by GRACE from God (you know where I'm going with this). God can save whomever HE chooses. Venom was a strong word but used out of sheer exhaustion. By humility (and grace) I was referring to the constant barrage of criticism (although some justifiable) and it's typically the usual suspects - Benny Hinn, Todd White, Kenneth Copeland, the guy from Elevation Church, et al. Again, exhausted. I was thrilled to see the names of the teachers you mentioned! Every single one of them has been a huge inspiration, especially John Barnett at DTBM (as of late). Was pentecostal my whole life (orthodox now) and I don't mind some of the embarrassing stuff. Love makes you do silly things. My issue with many charismatic churches is that over the last several years, they've basically gone new age. Some have "christian" tarot cards, claim they can "take over" pagan practices and turn them christian (spoilers: no they can't), and measure their faith on temporal grounds such as earthly wealth and health.
Have you ever watched fans at an NFL game or college football game or concert. People just get weird. I've always been uncomfortable whether it's at one of these charismatic where I don't go anymore for a long time never liked being at concerts and don't even like to go to games. Even the screaming and yelling or cursing at a sports bar to watch a game with co-fans. I'm never like that.I always feel bad about that even though I really really really love God in my favorite teams. God more of course. In all fairness, though, in the solitary of my own house, I have screamed and yelled and cheered. I'm more on par with the most crazy fans, but not in public. For the most part. Started in the charismatic movement and the mid 80s and I quit going to church because there doesn't seem to be an in between. Either super boring or super weird. But always about money.

Youve also been a great deal of hope for me. I am only 19 but a few years ago I knew that God wants me to go into ministry and trial after trial came and one of the greatest ones was finding out that I have a genetic condition that is going to make physical labor hard on me. My connective tissue is significantly weaker than normal. I was concerned and pondered whether or not God really wanted me in ministry. I couldn't see anything else but thought that theres no way with a condition like I have. But seeing you and your ministry gave me such hope and reminded me that it doesn't about who I am or what conditions I have. Its about full dedication to Gods Word. Penny's Mom would give us rides over there, because none of us had cars at that time...We were all college students...I started going there because I was curious and I was wondering what a non--Catholic Church looked like on the inside...I wasn't seeking God in any way...That A/G Church was pretty conservative...They sang "old school" hymns, and sat still during their services...If people were running around the Church, it would have scared me..I was only used to the Catholic Church at that time... People like to stereotype Pentecostal/Charismatic Churches, but that A/G Church was almost like a Baptist Church..My friend, Connie,.was instrumental in leading me to The Lord...Her Church was very evangelical and not 🚫 at all "kooky" or weird❤🩵
After I left Kenneth Copeland Ministries because the Lord lifted the blinders off my eyes and the earplugs out of my ears I realized that holy scripture is the only authority, not men, because men can lead you astray into very dangerous spiritual territory. I just recently had an exchange with a friend of mine who went to see Jenn Johnson in concert a month or two ago. No matter how much evidence to the contrary that you present to someone like my friend, they remain firmly convinced that Johnson just "loves Jesus so much" -- it's like talking to a brick wall. Only an intervention by the real Holy Spirit -- not Johnson's "blue genie" -- can change the heart of someone caught in Bethel's hellish grip.

She idolized Joyce Meyer, Oral Roberts and all the rest.
I have been using what I have learned from Justins minstry to help teach her the errors of what she was taught. It has been a couple of years now and she attends my bible beleiving church, loves to watch John MacArthur and R.C. Sproul now and has stopped watching the WOF/NAR, DAYSTAR,TBN, GODTV and the rest for about two years now. I beleive the Lord is working on her. I always pray for her salvation and understanding of God's true written word. I know Charismatics can be difficult as much as a J.W. or Mormon or any other cult fornthat manor. All you can do is show them the truth in Scripture in a loving way a let God do the rest.

I'm also an ex charismatic. I'm In The Orthodox Church Now. Pretty recently, I've been hitting a brick wall. I have immediate family who's angry at me. This immediate family member is a charismatic Calvinist, believes God still gives ongoing revelation, got really upset when I was playing a Justin Peters video. I'm in my thirties, believed all sorts of crazy stuff too in my early twenties. This family member thinks I don't Believe God is involved in life, because I don't believe ongoing revelation. Well, I Believe God Is Involved, He's Given us A Perfect Book, It Tells us What To Do. Orthodoxy, just like The Reformed Movement rejects new revelation and charismatic heresy. If u need new revelation to believe God is involved, don't pickup your Bible, because u don't Believe The Bible. Forget The Book Of Revelation, because It's not Enough for u if u need new revelation. Anybody who needs new revelation has a very, low, view of God.

None of this weird vision dream stuff happening aside from the scriptures should be taken as a path guide to the scriptures, like Jenn is saying here. The old saying "its easier to deceive someone than to convince them they have been deceived" it spot on in the charismatic movement. If it wasnt for the indoctrinated traditions they teach, they couldn't believe these things. These beliefs are not only unbiblical, but they are completely asinine to a rational thinking human being.
It says in scripture how many false teachers would come, but it still baffles me so many people are willing to say basically whatever they want about God. You'd think there would be some kind of worry inside of them. It's sad, and I'm scared for them.

Exposing means to uncover. To reveal the true, objectionable nature of ( someone or something.) Justin Peter is exposing these false teachers.
Charismatics do have a theological weakness in that they want to recreate the events of Pentecost on each Sunday. The focus should always be on Jesus. Now on the other hand, just because someone makes a mistake, or goes off track doesn't mean they are a "heretical teacher". Instead of bashing people you should be praying that they read the Bible, and the Holy Spirit shows them their errors. The phrase "worship to me" simply means from my perspective. No one can explain the experience of every single Christian in the world. The difference between you and most Charismatics is you are reformed and hold to "sola scriptura"; most Charismatics are influenced by Wesleyanism, which says there are 4 sources of theology; scripture, reason, experience, and tradition. Now conservatives within the Charismatic movement will say that anything within reason, experience or tradition that does not line up with the Bible, needs to be thrown out. What you said about Benny Hinn asking for thousand dollar offerings is spot on; your critique here is more about how Charismatics like different styles of music, and want the experience of Pentecost every sunday. If I had my preference I would have 2 or 3 people on the platform with an acoustic guitar, acoustic bass, and some bongos and the music wouldn't be as loud; but that's my preference, it's not gospel.
Thank you Justin for your ongoing devotion and work to your calling. I am a South African that grew up in a charasmatic church, my father did what he thought was best for us but fortunately he also moved away from it. So I say this with sincerity and mean no offence, but this whole 'movement' is strongly led by the USA, majority of these so called preachers are American, the rest of the world just follows suit. Justin, are we sure when they say "worship to me" that we should understand them to be taken at their word? As in they themselves are the objects / idols being worshipped by those in the audience or congregation? Keep in mind the "lovers of self" in the epistles.

I was about ready to give up on finding a biblicaly sound church because there are a lot of weird ones around here, when one day I was watching a video where Justin and Costi were talking and I was surprised to see how Costi had turned away from his uncle's teaching. I looked up Costi and saw he was one of the pastors at this little church close to my house and thought I would check it out.
Since day one they were able to get me into a mens bible study and have learned so much from attending RBC. My wife who was not a beleiver started going after a while without me even asking her and she is really starting to learn Gods word.
My 94 year old mother-in-law was wrapped up in the WOF/NAR for over 50 years and now she attends RBC with us and has since stopped watching the TBN, GODTV, DAYSTAR, Joyce Meyer and others nonsense. I praise God for all these blessings.
I was Born Again in a charismatic church. Been in different denominations since and now God has led me to Unlearning some of the lies man/traditions. Despite everything God was with me back than and through every other church and have learned the hard way, to put complete faith and trust in God alone and not man. God is not a disappointment to those who know and love Him. This woman is following another god not the God of the Bible. Definitely weird. God kept me from such of which I’m so thankful the only thing I’m crazy about is my Saviour.❤🙏🔥📖🔥🙏❤️

I always think there’s no way they can out do themselves and become so much more heretical, then Justin puts out another video and my heart breaks even more. It’s mind boggling to me that no one in their circle is taken aback at this garbage and raises their hand to speak out. I guess that’s what happens when being spiritually dead and completely illiterate of the Word of God does to them. This is so sad, yet even more so that so many are listening to and accepting this damning heresy as truth!
I also found this video very disturbing and sad. One wonders if years from now Jenn would look back on this and break down and weep. I found myself heartbroken over the things she said. Unfortunately no one in her family or church is shamed by this. We are told in the Bible that we will have to answer for everything we say. I pray for her soul.

I grew up and spent many adult years in the charismatic movement. I heard a lot of similar foolishness over time. I was typically one to hang back and observe the goings-on with a general sense of confusion, feeling like something inside was defective because I was not experiencing what others did. I am chagrined I let others manhandle me in prayer for years to try to summon up what they called the greater gifts of the Holy Spirit. I was forever chasing but never feeling anything but empty. I finally felt my eyes open when my old church invited in a NAR guest speaker that I could not ignore concerns about. When I researched him, it was like a house of cards fell on everything I was raised on. My family and I hightailed it out of there. I now feel He kept me all these years from getting fully sucked in so I could now warn others. Thank you for what you do here. It is vital.

I like going back to original languages, too. The church we moved to had a wonderful pastor for a lot of years that was the same way, so that has been very helpful. He always encouraged us not to take his word for it and study further on our own. He passed away a couple of years ago, but I carry his counsel with me to this day.

One thing that is common with these kind of new-charismatic churches (today’s, because charismatic churches has been in a good sense for a long time already) is that they make jokes of God and His word...and twist the Word (and this lady even admits her ignorance concerning it)...but it’s the lack of respect that’s so obvious. They point out onto the closeness with God without taking the only road that leads to the Father, which is through the blood of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. And that’s no joke. At all. Friends of ours, the husband enjoyed bill, todd white talks. He also believed in evolution. In spite of being church goers he eventually fell away. It is sad for his wife who also believes in interpretation etc, she still prays. Sadder, their young son, 16, is not walking a good path. The youngest, tomboy girl has alluded to confusion with her g3nd3r on FB. We don't know how the eldest is doing. The damage these play pastors do is devastating. May God have mercy on us all.

I too would like to hear a non charismatic commentary on this, even years later away from that horrible movement there's still things I don't understand and what they mean, I am a cessationist because I see ZERO proof miracles besides salvation happen today, and that actual Biblical tongues, unlearned languages, are spoken...as a kid I was TERRIFIED of speaking in tongues! I got nagged and bullied and told I didn't have the Holy Spirit and I wanted nothing to do with the charismatic view of the baptism of the Holy Spirit because of tongues, and kid me imagined somebody laying hands on me and then talking really fast and saying unintelligible nonsense and of course if I voiced my fear of tongues I got told that the devil made me scared because he didn't understand tongues...silly charismatics! The devil was an angel and if tongues really is the language angels speak he darn well knows it!

Tongues DO NOT EXIST. Paul said they would CEASE and they did, 2000 years ago. Also, there is no such thing as the "baptism of the holy spirit". The Spirit never baptized anyone; EVER. Also, I'll explain what the "tongues of Angels" is. It's not what you think, or have been told. Paul makes it clear. It's very simple. I know first hand of the nagging and bullying you went through. DON'T BE SORRY IT HAPPENED. Now you know who your enemy is and now you need to know how to fight it with scripture. Can I be honest? In about 2008, the Atheist Industrial Complex had me fooled into thinking that ALL American Christians were weird. How wrong I was, about most American Christians and Christ Himself.
Very saddened to see SO much venom between various “camps” of beliefs. Whether it’s cessationism vs. continuationism, Calvinism vs. Arminianism, “saved by grace vs. asking Jesus into the heart, there is not one single preacher/pastor, scholar, or theologian who has it all understood PERFECTLY. So in the meantime, exercise humility and sprinkle it with some much needed grace. I’d love to see ministries teach more on food for the LAMBS than fodder for the WOLVES. In other words, we have enough channels already shedding light on the dark. How about teaching on good and acceptable preaching? Good and acceptable music?
First off, what do you mean when you use the word venom? I usually see this word attached to a personal attack based upon feelings, not the Word of God. Granted we are all not perfect but you seem to be in favor of a live-and-let-live Christianity, yet that is not what the Bible teaches. I also do not understand what you mean by "humility", as if humility is all that is needed instead of being rooted and grounded in the word of God.
Above all you miss the point of the type of ministry this is. You want preaching and music and I know of several ministries that are very biblical in this area, though I believe Jesus would rather have us being discipled so that we can disciple others. Anything with John MacArthur, or Paul Washer, or Voddie Baucham, or R. C. Sproul, or John Barnett's ministry DTBM are great to learn from so we may teach others also.

First, I'm not at all a "live and let live" believer. You deduced that from very little information about me. I'm committed to God's WORD and not at all in the lane of Progressive Christianity. Twisting the Word of God by creating a composite Jesus is in no way the real Biblical Jesus, and that's what progressives do.
What I didn't say was that I find it all so utterly disheartening and not at all entertaining when they make jokes (as some do). I've seen that quite a bit on UA-cam. And for Justin Peters to say, "Why are charismatics so weird?' is troubling in the way he distilled ALL charismatics down to being "weird." I'm not charismatic but know quite a few and in no way can make a judgment. I won't get into the continuation of the "gifts' or other arguments that leave people chasing their tails like Calvin vs Arminius, etc. I will say firmly that salvation is by GRACE from God (you know where I'm going with this). God can save whomever HE chooses.
Venom was a strong word but used out of sheer exhaustion. By humility (and grace) I was referring to the constant barrage of criticism (although some justifiable) and it's typically the usual suspects - Benny Hinn, Todd White, Kenneth Copeland, the guy from Elevation Church, et al. Again, exhausted.
I was thrilled to see the names of the teachers you mentioned! Every single one of them has been a huge inspiration, especially John Barnett at DTBM (as of late).

Was pentecostal my whole life (orthodox now) and I don't mind some of the embarrassing stuff. Love makes you do silly things. My issue with many charismatic churches is that over the last several years, they've basically gone new age. Some have "christian" tarot cards, claim they can "take over" pagan practices and turn them christian (spoilers: no they can't), and measure their faith on temporal grounds such as earthly wealth and health.

Have you ever watched fans at an NFL game or college football game or concert. People just get weird. I've always been uncomfortable whether it's at one of these charismatic where I don't go anymore for a long time never liked being at concerts and don't even like to go to games. Even the screaming and yelling or cursing at a sports bar to watch a game with co-fans. I'm never like that.I always feel bad about that even though I really really really love God in my favorite teams. God more of course. In all fairness, though, in the solitary of my own house, I have screamed and yelled and cheered. I'm more on par with the most crazy fans, but not in public. For the most part. Started in the charismatic movement and the mid 80s and I quit going to church because there doesn't seem to be an in between. Either super boring or super weird. But always about money.

God exalts his word above his own name. Would you care to go over the issue of gifts, and learn what God was really doing in the new testament? I've taught for 36 years and use the original languages to help people get out of false teaching. You were honest enough to admit you are pentecostal, so let's be as honest with his word. You will learn what actually happened on Pentecost that year and discover the true purpose of what God was doing. God is not a Mystic. He speaks in facts. Scriptures can not contradict themselves and pentecostal/charismatics do it all the time. So where do you draw the line with all the nonsense? It must be based on God's word, or nothing.
