You guys do a great job and have added some information that I haven't found in other reviews. This certainly does seem like a premium vehicle for the money!
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
I just bought the Crystal Red 2019 Mazda 3 Hatchback with AWD and it is a fantastic car - well worth the money I spent and it really is much nicer than even more expensive cars even above it's class. I was planning on buying the Mazda 6 Turbo and was only using the 3 as a comparison and I like the 3 better and the Toyota simply does not drive the same and the interior is no where near as nice
@@kevinrobinson8474 did you get a good deal? I plan to lease one.
I did get a good deal and in my case I drive too many miles to lease but for some people that is a good option. The 2019 is a great car just don't buy the 2018 the 2019 is a much better car
In my opinion Mazda is one of the most underrated car companies. Their lineup is limited, but every model has attractive styling, sporty handling and great reliability.
Zerrick Henderson yes they are very underrated, I personally dont think any other in its class compares (looks and how they drive)
I totally agree with you.
Totally agree. They are achieving the luxury level that over my expectation on this price point. Cant believe a mazda 3 has better material than my 2018 accord exl
Zerrick Henderson Thinking about getting a Mazda 3 next year. Does Mazda still have problems with rust? Was it corrected?
@@39Hundred Hi Marshall, I'm not a professional on the situation, but I know they did have a recall so I would hope that issue has been corrected. Good luck the Mazda 3 is a solid choice!
It has the best engine in the class. No turbo, no CVT. Probably last longer and cheaper maintenance in the long run.
True but very expensive for parts and slim dealer network.
Skyactiv is direct injection, less reliable that a conventional port injection or MPI that Toyota uses
James Sicat if its less reliable than toyota? It means it still very reliable + luxury feel at very low price. Cant beat that
@@jamessicatI’ll take a naturally aspirated engine any day over a car with CVT.
Excellent review Mason and Drew 😄. I'm surprised Mazda does not include rear vents and rear charging ports for the top trim level. The redesign sedan from Mazda looks great, and from the side angle that Mason captured, it looks like it has a deep waste along the lower part of the car. The 3 definitely looks aggressively sporty in black. I wonder why Mazda did not up rear seat legroom more. Though the grind is on for you two, enjoy the weekend and be safe since severe storms are marching across the south this weekend.
Car Confections, just like Mazda for the few years, you both are knocking it out of the ballpark. As always, it feels like I'm actually there checking out the car in person.
Thank you for your continued reviews, your video production with its editing continues to impress. Keep reaching for the sky!
Thank you, friend! You have a great Sunday! 😀
Great job guys as always.
I love the 2019 Mazda 3 , it’s very sharp!!! I love the paddle shifters!!! My brother has a Mazda 626 in 1998.
Thanks!! Been waiting for your review on this car. Great job and very detailed!
😀
Congrats guys! One of the best reviews of new Mazda 3, serious and proffesional, well done! 👍
Thank you! We appreciate that!
This is by far the best Mazda 3 review for all. Keep it up mates.
Thank you! We appreciate that!
Mazda did such an amazing job with this car. I drove the GT sedan today and it was amazing. It's not super fast or anything, but in sport mode it feels "snappy" and it doesn't complain when you push it. I'm just waiting until Mazda releases the Skyactive X engine. The 2020 Mazda 3 is going to be amazing.
This is mad thorough
Thanks for your work
Glad you enjoyed!
Nice review car confection
Nice review guys, you were born to do this! I own 2 Mazda 6's and I would consider this new 3 as my next car. Mazda has just absolutely nailed a combination of value, reliability, beauty and driving pleasure. And without a turbocharger! This new 3 seems to have improved in all aspects.
Haha thanks! Sounds like you're are a Mazda guy we are too!
That engine roar and performance from a car that isn’t even a turbo is impressive.
Howdy, great review as always!
Thanks have a great Saturday!
Another awesome review...I bought a CX3 based on your past review. My only regret is not waiting for this model as it comes with available AWD
That's cool to hear that! Second car? Haha
You have a very soft spoken and elegant voice. I enjoy your reviews :)
Thanks James! Glad you enjoy the videos! 😁
Excellent review. I can't wait to get my hands on this sweet ride.
I totally agree with the auto start/stop system. Its annoying. I'm looking to get it disabled at my dealer because for me its not really saving any money. Most stops i do are 3-10 seconds and the fuel saved from not running idle is less than the fuel required to reignite the engine.
I love the sedan! It looks so stylish especially in the black colour
You guys to very nice in depth reviews. Good job.
Thank you! Glad you like the videos!
Just bought one yesterday❤
Great review btw.
Congrats!
I have the preferred, loving it so far!
nice job man. what's the button near the memory seat? looks like a circle around a car, maybe an alarm setting?
Really nice and thorough take on this car. Anxious to see how it feels compared to my 2014 Mazda3 sGT with Tech Package. One thing I learned: I ski a lot and was looking at the AWD model, and I was not happy that it has a yet-smaller gas tank than the FWD version! Under 13 gal just isn't adequate, especially if you obey the DO NOT TOP OFF warnings at the pumps...
Kinda embarrassing that this looks more premium than an ILX or even the TLX.
And the ugly ass Lexus IS and Lexus preiod
And potentially the dated Lincoln mkz , dare I say. 😏
@@jordancatcher6663 nope the MKZ is a baby continental it has a beautiful design
@@ALEX-sh3tx of course 🙃
@Daniel Hernandez The new 2021 TLX has a really nice interior, though busier in design than the latest Mazda. I want to drive the new Mazda3, heard it is less sporty and has slower steering than the last one.
Car companies are starting to realize that design sells :) Mazda is doing a great job on the designs, and from what I hear these cars are really good.
So fantacinating!. I'm wating it coming VietNam.
Man, I would really like to see this new infotainment on the 2020 CX-5!
cant believe they've announce the 2021 now, and it STILL has the 2017 styling and infotainment
YAY ITS HERE I LOVE MAZDA
Great Review Guys. I agree with you that this is the nicest cabin in this class. However, Mazda needs to add rear console mount a/c vents along with a locking glove box.
Thanks!
120th view, 13th like with no dislikes and 2 comment! I was waiting for y’all to do this! Phenomenal guys!!
Yeah we were waiting on it to arrive for a long time!
Car Confections well it worth the wait gentlemen!
The Mazda 3 is very stylish, exterior & interior, I just don't like that the infotainment system is farther from the driver but it's a nice compact sedan overall.
Amazing review!
The infotainment system is touch free on this car so you don’t have to reach at it. Mazda knew what they were doing.
Nice review sorry I haven’t been commenting We had to take a important text this week it call The Leap Test And Plus when I leave six grade this year my mom getting me and IPhone XR I have a 7 Plus right now you make one of the best car reviews
The trunk is a nice place to spend time? 🤔
The two camera angles during drive portion are nice, btw. Good view of interior.
Haha maybe if you get kidnapped 😂 Thanks for watching!
It was hard to follow up on the design of previous model but with the sedan they did an excellent job, the interior puts most luxury cars that are over 30k to shame...this is my third Mazda3, sedan, hatch and back to this sedan...as far as engine, I put 90k on my first and didn’t even have an electrical problem...if you’re thinking about getting this car, don’t think and get it, you won’t regret it
I can't wait for the Skyactiv X.
Does the GS trim level come with the windshield heads up display?
Funny how in Canada you do get heated steering wheel on every model but the base model, I guess because its cold here in the winter Lol. also in Canada you have rear parking sensors with the parking trajectory thing when u turn the wheele while reversing.
Deserves a luxury badge.
Next year, I’ll be looking for a new car. I’m thinking about the Mazda 3. Does anyone know if Mazda still has problems with rust?
They shit the bed with the hatchback; huge ass blind spot in the rear pillar. I just bought one of these today and I was blown away
Do 2020 Lexus RX c f full review I saw it in commercial
Very good review. SPC. Shots from far away to show the body shape properly
Thanks!
Nice car, but the front seat backs look super upright, I imagine it'd be a bit difficult to find a comfortable seating position. Also not really a fan of that high center console. I'm sure it has a lot to do with the transmission tunnel.
mazda stepped u p it's game! and with that price it's so competitive!
You think I’ll find a woman when I buy this car?
If you buy the Red Hatchback - Premium trim you will!
Yeah easy pussy
Get a dog.
AK really??
🤣🤣😂
If you get a chance, please test drive the new VW Jetta GLI and see how it compares to this Mazda 3!
Would love to!
I don't agree with they making the front disc rotors smaller from 11.4 to 11.0" (that was reserved for only the 2.0 liter vehicles), and no fog lights, getting rid of its heated steering wheel..
Hi. Do you have the link for the communication system? Thanks
We haven't made the video for this updated version yet but we have made a tech video for the similar older version if you want to check that out in the meantime. Sorry!
How do you feel about the power of this vs the ilx?? Which seemed faster or to pull harder?
About the same honestly. The transmission shifts a bit faster in the ILX
Car Confections Thanks man!!
Love the Sedan.Hatch has not enough leg space at the back
Hello,
The guy on the right said the ride is luxury car smooth. How smooth versus a Lexus GS/ES? Which luxury has he driven when saying so? And how quiet versus a Lexus or Mercedes? Which models?
Thanks, :)
Hi Watson. Lexus and Mercedes make the smoothest luxury cars in the business, so we're not referring to their higher-end models. We were recently in the entry level Audi A3, Mercedes A-Class, and Lexus UX which are what we had in mind with that statement
Car Confections which is what Mazda is targeting with this car.
Do you know if the switches on the doors for the locks, windows , and mirrors illuminate at night? One of my pet peeves about my current 3
We didn't have it at night so unfortunately we can't verify that for you
Car Confections no worries. You guys do an amazing job
They do light up yes
Mike oh sweet
Is it worth de chroming this one on the blue?
Mazda should’ve went ahead with Amati. I bet if they did, it’d be more successful than 2 of the 3 Japanese luxury brands we have today.
That's it, im selling my car and motorbike to get this. I'm drooling over this now! Funny enough im from Japan and the new model is still not available!
I think Mazda's backseat space is the worst ever. If they improve it, Mazda will become the best.
ครับพี่
The Mazda 6 has entered the chat
How reliable are Mazda, is it reliable as Toyota?
Probably among the Japanese makers, Mazda got the best effort in styling, build quality and willingness to breakaway from usual Japanese conventional way of designing and build cars. But it's a pity that the interior space isn't as roomy as most rivals.
Do all trims have those halo looking day time running lights ?
Only the top trim has the halo drl's , al the others have standard drl's.
Aidan Botha what a shame those things look bad ass
@@alecw7063 You gotta pay if you want to play!
what colour is the mazda 3 you are showing?
It's called Jet Black Mica
Very nice car not the same cars Toyota or Nissan this is a better option or a different option to consider bigger engine,AWD, cylinder deactivation a lot of great features
There seems to be quite a few empty button switches on the lower dash for the highest trim Premium level. Also, you guys really need to review that "Wagon Queen Family Truckster" in the background (at the 01:55 videomark) 😏😏
Haha yeah! Do you follow us on Snapchat or Instagram? We posted a story about it because someone had put a creepy mannequin in it 😂
Kinda dissapointed that this doesn't have ventilated seats since the kia forte and the vw jetta offer it on the highest trims.
Depends on the country
Those cars don't have 12 speaker stereo systems or that class-leading interior though.
chime seems like it will get annoying, unless it's louder cause of the video.
If only Mazda had kept Manual transmission in this model.
In Europe the model have an manual transmission, in U.S.A they stop offering a lot of cars eith manual gear box because they don't sell :))

I drream of this car mazda 3 and mazda cx-5 this is my next to buy 2022 model i have honda civic ex 2014 my honda is 5 years now. I love you mazda and kyoto designed. my god help me to get this vehicles i cant afford right now.
How is this car for 6' tall drivers?
Should be fine although neither of us are 6 ft so can't say for sure
if this was rear wheel drive and had a bit stronger engine it would be the best car in the world...
much better looking sedan car than the hunchback
The diesel engine is good or not?
We do not have a diesel model in America
@@CarConfections that's weird , thanks
Woanders hab ich gehört dass der Spurhalteassistent nur bis Tempo 70 funktioniert. Stimmt das?
Ansonsten: Tschüss BMW, hallo Mazda!
Mazda is what Acura should be
You guys should review the Chevy Sonic which is one of the Mazda3s main competitiors. There are not many videos about them.
Andy's Shop Sonic is not a competetor to the 3. The Cruise was until Chevy killed it. The Sonic is sized more like a Honda Fit, and the old Mazda2
Isn’t the Chevy Sonic dead? They only make the Malibu now. This is the last year of the Impala, basically pulled a Ford, focusing only on SUVs now.
Chris O Sonic is still there.
I'd like to see a compare between the Sonic and a motorized shopping cart.
Craig Pope the motorized shopping cart is built better and will last longer then a Sonic. Might even be more comfortable also.
This or Civic 2019 sport.?
We have a comparison video that you could check out!
Why does the side of the car look like it got smashed in??
Kudos for Mazda's improvement in their dated infotainment system. And the placement of the screen is an improvement over the typical placement of an iPad-like screen perched like an afterthought on the dash. Unfortunately, though, I'm skeptical that it's an ergonomic improvement. Taking a hand off the wheel to manipulate the rotary dial while tracking its selections on the screen is hardly an improvement over stabbing a more accessible screen with a finger. Moreover, the screen itself is simply very small compared to the competition. I realize this particular area of design is a challenge and manufacturers continue to struggle to design both appealing and functional solutions. But I don't think Mazda has gotten it right yet.
Using the wheel quickly becomes second nature. Try it out.
@@Varekai0723 I have no doubt that almost any control solution or location can become "second nature" if you own a vehicle and drive it on a daily basis. And it's also true that automotive journalists who drive a vehicle for a few hours or days sometimes complain about a unique feature simply because they don't have time to accustom themselves to it. But I design user interfaces for a living and I can assure you that in terms of speed and accuracy stabbing a selection on a screen is a better solution than manipulating a dial with one hand while tracking the effect on a screen mounted located away from one's hand movement. It's a well established ergonomic principle.
In this case, I suspect that Mazda designers felt they had to come up with a control solution for the placement of a relatively small screen located beyond the driver's natural reach. Given the parameters they faced this was the solution they came up with. But it's not ideal by any means.
@@stephenhendricks103 I argue otherwise because given the height of the display, it feels more dangerous touching and navigating that way
I def used the wheel a lot more with my 2016 cx3 because it feels safer and faster and touch interaction is limited while driving so you kind of have to use the wheel more anyway
Stephen Hendricks the screen is in direct line of sight from the driver. They also had touchscreens disabled at all times when the car was moving in previous years. Touchscreens infotainment systems aren’t safe either. Second highest cause of distracted driving accidents right behind touchscreen phones. The wheel works by feel.
Having used the Mazda knob-controlled system for three years, and having used our Honda Pilot touchscreen system, I can attest that the touchscreen is much more distracting to use for almost any function. To me, it is because of the imprecision of a touchscreen. You don't always touch what you intend to touch because there is no physical button, and there is no "feel" to it. So, you have to really look, and then it doesn't always take the input, so you touch again...To me, the knob is less distracting because I don't have to move my arm at all, the knob sits where my hand naturally rests, so I can sit back in my normal driving position and see the screen out of the corner of my eye. On the Honda, I have to learn forward, lift my arm, and give the screen my full attention to be sure I am hitting the input I want to hit. It is hard? No, but it is distracting and frustrating. I think in terms of ease of use, knobs and buttons are the state of the art - automakers went away from them for aesthetic reasons, but I know I miss them.

if i had to choose a car on the basis of fun to drive, i will choose BMW or Mazda
Great car, but that torsion beam...
Good Job Mazda Bc civic is ugly also the Corolla and Elantra
but mazda has ugly reliability. mazdas dont look that great either.

All new model and still no active guidelines in the backup camera and no trip timer in the center display. Bruftiful interior though

Worth noting that adding AWD to the Mazda3 also adds the weight equivalent to an NFL linebacker sitting in the back seat (almost 250 lbs.) If you're doing it to cope with challenging winter driving conditions, it's worth considering that an FWD vehicle with the weight of the engine over the front wheels and a good set of winter tires will do the same job as AWD about 95% of the time. Mazda maintains that their AWD system enables "G-Vectoring" that improves handling in all conditions but, again, adding 250 lbs to the weight of a small, light vehicle is a big penalty to compensate for.
Do some research, its adds under 200 lbs.
@@beefjones7546 3,071 to 3,248 lbs
You're correct. My error. The actual figures are FWD 3071 lbs and AWD 3248 lbs. Lets make it an NFL cornerback then.
Stephen Hendricks G-Vectoring is on the fwd car to. The added weight also slows the car and uses more gas.
I prefer the 6
Why do americans hate Mazda
😁😁😁😁
auto transmitt is waste on this car just sayin
No ventilated seats or 360 Camera. Fail.
John Edmond this is a mainstream car. IT STARTS AT 21k. This ain’t no Benz
All cars, even luxury, don’t offer everything. Some cars in this class offer the things you mentioned, but may not offer HUD. And certainly not this quality interior.
I'm more upset that a 360 degree camera is available in Europe but not North America
ventilated seats are not that great..plus the Mazda 3 is in the subcompact car category....if you want all those features you should be looking at higher end cars...as for the 360 camera....its kinda useless (my Infiniti has it) unless u drive like a handicap person....
Interior wise, mazda is a copycat of audi ... at least in my opinion.
Mazda 3 is one ugly car.
