Is it worth sending in 8a and 9s? You send in a Chipper Jones knowing it is off center so can't be a 10, you get a 9 and 9s sell for 15.50. Winner is PSA.
That is supposedly a strategy for vintage cards to send in a comparable of slightly less condition to try and up the comparable condition of the 2nd card for a better rating. Looks like that doesn't really helps in those 80's and 90's cards, but heard people swear it helps in 60's and older. Personally I wouldn't do it.
Please Submit Again. Do they realize how much money they lost you on resale value from a 9 to a 10. It's insane. Plus they charge you for their opinion to give you a grade lower. Just not worth it anymore. I've pretty much quit PSA. Thanks for the reveal.
I get it, man. PSA screws up a lot of grades. But one thing is for certain. You cannot look at a card the way you are looking at it with just your eyeballs to judge a grade. Nor can you show us discrepancies through a camera lens and UA-cam video. You need to look at it under 10x magnification with a bright lamp, otherwise, of course you won't see what they see.
You need to understand that PSA will never give a card like the Griffey rookie a PSA 10 no matter how perfect it is. Unless you slide $500 in your package for the grader you’re not going to get fair grades on cards like that.
So you probably subjective graded your cards up by 1 . If you graded 10 then it becomes 9, and 9 becomes 8 etc. next time you need to be harder with yourself

Started watching this video and had to stop. Too long of a video. PSA = $$$$$$$$$$$$ off you.
I’m just in it for the PSA cases. I get my PC players in 8’s and 7’s. Super cheap and I like the plastic cases PSA provides. I usually get them cheaper than it costs to grade. 8’s and 7’s still look good to me. Get to collect my 70’s-90’s players I grew up liking graded on the cheap. Love junk slabs.
psa lost my Prescott auto patch rookie they suck. they grade all over the place to keep cards out of the population so as to not drop values to certain collectors it seems. go scg better grading and better customer service and set price.
I was about to comment the same thing. All mine that are low have been surface issues I missed. Also ANY whiting in the corners will bring a card down no matter what it seems these days with Vintage :(
Your 1989 Upper Deck Griffey has a hologram flaw. Looks like a piece missing causing a white spot. Also, though not normal, is there snow on his jersey?
At least they graded your Griffey. Pulled mine out of a factory box and they said it had been altered. Lol. I recently posted a video that shares some “thoughts” on the elephant in the room with grading. You might enjoy it after this box.
PSA can put whatever grade they want to because they don't have to give any type of explanation for the grade given. They should have to give comments with the grade. All they do is take your money (and you don't even get a kiss)!
I just saw a post about the 90 Fleer Jordan. The backs are different on your 2 examples.. The 6 has a visible black line under the fleer 26 white section and the stat area. The 9 doesn't have that. The same clip said the 9,without the line, was rarer. I hope it's true and works in your favor. Good luck.
I think you're overlooking a lot of defects. Looks like you're mostly concerned about the centering but when you look at the front of the card and if you see "white" along the edges of a non-white border card then the that card cannot be a 10. And few times when you said a card has a "sharp" corner, it actually did not. if you can see any kind of "fuzz" at ALL then that corner is not sharp. I think the grades are justified. Take the card and go to a room where there is very little light and angle the card so that it shines against the light and you should be able to see MOST of the defects on the surface and also on the corners.
Tough submission but it is tough to get 10’s or even 9’s on 30 year old cards. Also PSA seems to throw in a 6 to every order these days lol. Centering I noticed you saying is good a lot when it isn’t, like the Ohtani. It’s like 75/25 not very centered. My rule of thumb is if a card isn’t 55/45 or better I don’t even send it, bc you are probably starting off with a negative as soon as the grader sees the card. Nice cards though! Good content!
not sure what you consider 60/40, but many of the cards you claim are 60/40 aren't. A couple of these grades may be a little rough, but honestly not bad. Gotta remember a 10 is pretty much a perfect card. This is what happens when you gamble on a submission.
I don't know what it is about me in life but when I look at color blue I see different shades of blue easier than other people do if you look at the right hand side of both of them MJ's they're both different colors the blue or different shades of blue one got left in the Sun for a little while and faded that coloring and that's what the problem
I agree, consistency is key. I am amazed at the number of people that buy 10s and don't even put a mag to it. Same thing happened in coins. That's why we always say "buy the coin, not the plastic" Only difference is the older coins were more conservative.
PSA Pop Control. On those really popular cards it doesn’t matter how perfect it is. The only people that get 10’s on those have first names starting with 4.
I disagree.. I have hit multi $k cards many many times recently. To much Nm going in thinking its the moon... I have 1/2 million cards that were pulled by me, in the 90's. raw. 10's will come furiously
I think the corners are getting you...look really close at corners to see if there is any paper loss or tiny bends....those can drop your grade to an 8 really fast
The 89 Junior card looks discolored to me. Perhaps a little yellowed. Anything that old has been affected by humidity or dryness. The surface is suspect.
Did he say that '95 Finest Jose Canseco would be $787 in a psa10??? Am i missing something?? Not trying to be an @$$|-|⊙|_E , just making sure i heard correct! And $60 for a '92 Topps Nolan Ryan psa9?? Good googly moogly, i need to start sending everything i have that looks super clean to psa because i didn't think those kinda cards had anywhere near that much value now. Maybe 4 yrs ago at the beginning of the pandemic which was the peak of the sports card market, but i really didn't think so now.
Yes, as of this video the Conseco Refractor and Ryan cards was worth those amounts. As of this reply there are no comp for the Conseco, but COMC as one listed for $856.10. We will have to see what it goes for and the Ryan has a comp on Aug 11, 24 for $52,00. You need to check the comps before "Not trying to be an @$$|-|O|_E!
Hey just so you know. The 1990 MJ is the error one missing the line on the backside. The other one you showed had the line. The six is the correct one. The 9 is the error one.
That's not exactly true. What grader, what day, how are they feeling that day. Unexceptable. Should take that out. What is the actual condition? With the eye under good lighting.
Oh I agree. It’s unfortunate the most popular/value added grading company relies partially on how someone feels a certain day. The forensic grading companies seem like a good idea, but unfortunately they don’t have the same market power as PSA
I LIVE HERE IN VEGAS BUDDY. WHERE IN VEGAS CAN I GO AND GET MY CARDS GRADED AT? THAT WOULD REALLY HELP ME OUT INSTEAD OF SENDING IT OUT OF STATE. LET ME KNOW PLEASE THANKS
@@mam362 But I have graded the 1913 Babe Ruth that sold for $7,200,000 And the Mickey Mantle that sold for $12,500,000. Obviously I am doing something right!
The reason your Nolan Ryan 1986 Topps cards received low grades is the print defect on the front called "snow" in the hobby, those white dots all over the picture.
Let us know when you put these into a slab with real grades. TAG. I hope you take some of the grades you got and submit them to see what the real grade is. PSA is not going to give two cents (or ever a 10) on a griffey rookie any longer.
Since you seem content with sending .50 cent cards in for grading - can I just add my cash app so you can send me some money? I'll make a blog on how I spend it and everything - I'll make better use of the money than this complete waste. Geeze lmao 🥺😂
1990 fleer Jordan is only like 25-35 on ebay sold. You tell people it is a 290 dollar card???
That $290.00 for a PSA 10 not a 9
That PSA 9 that he had in this video is also the "No Line on back" card. Slightly more value.
I wish I understood why those two Michael Jordan cards received such different grades. Does the grading company ever provide an explanation?
I have also done FCG.. The slabs look good!
It looks to me like the 9 has deeper color and the 6 is faded with less color. The front of the card is more important than the back when grading.
Is it worth sending in 8a and 9s? You send in a Chipper Jones knowing it is off center so can't be a 10, you get a 9 and 9s sell for 15.50. Winner is PSA.

Ha, you got that right!
It’s called pop control, on these more common cards the only one that wins is psa. They throw the grading scale out the window
The 86 Topps Nolan Ryan's have the print defect called "snow" on the front.
A.K.A. artificial scarcity.
Snap, crackle, pop control.
Please Submit Again. Do they realize how much money they lost you on resale value from a 9 to a 10. It's insane. Plus they charge you for their opinion to give you a grade lower. Just not worth it anymore. I've pretty much quit PSA. Thanks for the reveal.
1986 Nolan Ryan look at top left corner you can see white!
I do think you failed to mention a couple soft corners that were apparent in the video
The common thing with the 89 upper deck griffeys is a crease from the printing plates on the back of the card that can barely be seen
watch the video of the guy who submitted like a 100 udkjjrs and look how many 10's he got!!!
PSA grading is horribly inconsistent, and being the most expensive grading company, you’d think they’d at least try.
Is there any truth to this
I hope that isn't true... but they're probably Democrats and we all know they're corrupt as hell
So you probably subjective graded your cards up by 1 . If you graded 10 then it becomes 9, and 9 becomes 8 etc. next time you need to be harder with yourself
Started watching this video and had to stop. Too long of a video. PSA = $$$$$$$$$$$$ off you.
That Griffey has a scratched hologram, you won't be getting a bump worth cracking it out
I’m just in it for the PSA cases. I get my PC players in 8’s and 7’s. Super cheap and I like the plastic cases PSA provides. So do uou want correctly graded cards or do you want 10s???
I’ve gotten a couple 6’s and in each instance there was either a surface issue or a piece of fuzz on the front of the card. Thanks for sharing!
I was about to comment the same thing. All mine that are low have been surface issues I missed. Also ANY whiting in the corners will bring a card down no matter what it seems these days with Vintage :(
The 90 Fleer Jordan is a $25 card in a PSA 9. In a 10 it's around $200, dunno where you saw an ebay comp of 250+ for a 9.
Anything from the 80’s & 90’s the best you can expect is a PSA 9 or below.
Dude I really want to watch this video especially cause I subscribed but can You Please go Faster !!
Will do I my next one
Your 1989 Upper Deck Griffey has a hologram flaw. Looks like a piece missing causing a white spot. Also, though not normal, is there snow on his jersey?
This is why you break the factory sets the Griffy in those were perfect and look at for the Dale Murphy error too.
This is why i dont grade, unless its PC. If i can at least flip something for a 75-90% profit; the buyer can roll the dice with grading.
At least they graded your Griffey. Pulled mine out of a factory box and they said it had been altered. Lol.

What you want is Tag but more work costs more money. Beckett will help you as well.
The 86 Topps Nolan Ryan's have the print defect called "snow" on the front.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely!
Where did it ship from? They've been sending things to NJ and they seem a lot harsher.
Texas
Should i start swnding my 1991 Fleer Mark Grace gards in? F me lol 😆

PSA is hard on the surface grading. And if a card is more than a couple years old they get super picky.
PSA Pop Control. On those really popular cards it doesn’t matter how perfect it is. The only people that get 10’s on those have first names starting with 4.
4? I don't get it

Groans waste of time , just show the grade .I don’t care about the rest
I think the corners are getting you...look really close at corners to see if there is any paper loss or tiny bends....those can drop your grade to an 8 really fast
KOOL SESSION BUDDY. NEW SUB HERE. HAVE A BLESSED DAY. ALOHA
Thanks for the sub

It’s called they don’t care. Be sure to keep submitting…
I have an Upper Deck Griffey PSA 7 as well. Bad edges, pulled it straight from a pack in 1998 😞
that top edge is a killer
funny same thing happened to me with 2 griffey rookies .looked identical and one got a 9 and the other a 6 hmmmmm
Yeah, I know what you mean
So happy I don't feel the need to grade my cards.
That’s great news buddy.
Correct, save $$$$$$ to buy more cards.
That Jose Canseco should of been a at least a 9.
I agree, most of the card I think should have came back as 9. Only 4 of the I picked as 10, but only got 3.
If something is "fairly well centered" then it is not a 10
True, but you can get a 10 with a 60/40 centering if everything else (corners, edges and surface) is spot on.
I think I’ve had that graded before! Gotta keep going though. It can only be better next time!
I hope so. lol
That's not exactly true. What grader, what day, how are they feeling that day. Unexceptable. Should take that out. What is the actual condition? With the eye under good lighting.

Don't send 90s cards to PSA SGC is the move
I think you are right.
I'm a grader for SGC and I see a few that I would have been kinder to them.I have graded nearly 28,000 cards so far.
I LIVE HERE IN VEGAS BUDDY. WHERE IN VEGAS CAN I GO AND GET MY CARDS GRADED AT? THAT WOULD REALLY HELP ME OUT INSTEAD OF SENDING IT OUT OF STATE. LET ME KNOW PLEASE THANKS
you can't see anything regarding card condition from this video
Ahh and that is the reason PSA is #1. Kindness is not needed in the world of grading. Strict standards adhered to.
I don't know that I would trust my cards to a person with your screen name
@@mam362 But I have graded the 1913 Babe Ruth that sold for $7,200,000 And the Mickey Mantle that sold for $12,500,000. Obviously I am doing something right!
The Canseco at 15:55 has green crotch lol I collect RC Finest Steve Nash that has similar dye/ink problems
The reason your Nolan Ryan 1986 Topps cards received low grades is the print defect on the front called "snow" in the hobby, those white dots all over the picture.

lotof owners said they tightened there grading since they were sold to a new company especially on 10s
I'll buy the Jordan 6 for 100 bucks
Few cards i have raw in this video, the Caseco i have has the cver plastics on and got a 8 too .
Cigarettes smoke stained white border, bummer
89 UD griffey has a divot or edge issue
Since you seem content with sending .50 cent cards in for grading - can I just add my cash app so you can send me some money? I'll make a blog on how I spend it and everything - I'll make better use of the money than this complete waste. Geeze lmao 🥺😂
