My duties, tariffs and fees came to around $506 Cad. The freight forwarder Rima used shipped the mill to their warehouse, so I didn't have to go to the shipping port to pick up. However, this freight forward only allows dock level trucks so I ended up hiring a trucking company to deliver the mill to my door, and I also paid a company to process the duty paperwork on my behalf. These two things cost me an additional $563 but also saved me time, gas, and the expense of renting a trailer.
Thank you for your sharing, our factory has 15 years of experience in the production of forestry equipment and farm equipment, in line with CE certification standards, quality is guaranteed, if you have any questions, please contact me, we are always welcome😄😄😄🤝🤝🤝
I am planning on creating videos on the complete installation process, as well as a video breaking down the importing process and cost soon, so stay tuned for that if you are interested in this sawmill!
I ordered the same saw today. How long did it take to get it? Did you have it shipped to your door or did you have to pick it up from the closest port? And pay those fees?
Congrats! I will make a video at some point outlining my importing experience. I think it took around 5-6 weeks to be ready for pickup (mine was shipped by boat to British Columbia Canada, then rail to Toronto). My mill was delivered to my Freight Forwarders warehouse, so I did not have to get it from the port. From the freight forwarders warehouse I had a trucking company deliver to my door as the warehouse unfortunately only allowed dock level trucks. The import fees I had to pay before final delivery. I found a local company that was able to clear customs on my behalf which saved me a drive to Toronto.
I wasn't too worried but you never know exactly how it is going to go. Things would have had to go really bad though for the price to reach the price of the comparable Woodland Mills HM130 Max. My sawmill, sharpener, and extra parts came to around $4100 CAD. It cost another $506 CAD on importing fees, and I spent an additional $563 on getting a broker to process my customs paperwork on my behalf and hiring a trucking company to deliver the mill from the warehouse to my door.
