Awesome! Thank you, Peter. I have 2 really big clumps of clivia, both have like 20 flowers each spring, they are in need of repotting and now I know I can reduce them to make them healthier and also I will have gifts for my friends and family. Thank you again for sharing this video!

There's the proof of Peter's love for plants and gardening, not just for bonsai apparently. Keep em coming Peter 👍.

Would love to see more of these types of videos. I enjoy gardening of all sorts; flowers, bonsai, houseplants, cactus, planted aquariums, ect. It's quite fascinating to see them flourish and their many different "temperaments". Great shirt by the way!

When you've worked with Bonsai so long, that looks to you like a deep pot 😉

Peter teased the roots, by calling them fleshy and noodly 😄

Speaking of this, I recently came across a random patch of grass in one of my pots, it was variegated. It caught me by surprise because nobody around has any ornamental grasses. And seems to be a local variety. Meaning, I sprouted a random mutant. I love this stuff!

I did this recently with my spider plants. I never knew they divided into new plants, AND sprouted plant pot ready "babies" on long tendrils. Plants have become very fascinating!

Looks like a pot of Clivia Spaghetti. I used to work for a bulb company that sold them back in the late 80's. I remember them being expensive plants. Yellow was very rare back then if I am correct, big dollars. Beautiful plant and flowers.

Coincidentally, I did that yesterday, too!! What a suprise to see you do it, too :) I repotted the big plant in our company, it was like yours, but I did it more radical. I just left the mother plant, because we don't need the other seedlings. For the compost I mixed some sowing soil with normal potting soil, so the soil will not easy dry out and I leave more leaves, but I think it will survive.

Mr.Chan, in one of the previous videos You showed us some unusual species for bonsai, (eg, full moon maple, liquidambar, ..), so I'm wondering if there could be a few words about it in one of the following videos.Thanks..

    How to get more plants.
    Step one: plant
    Step two: water
    Step three: wait
    Step four: pull apart
    Step five: repeat
    Plants are amazing!

Usually with plants that grow in clumps, like irises etc., you just take a sharp spade and chop them while they are still in the ground. Hostas as well.

Really enjoyed this video, I’d probably end up watching the videos about other plants and gardening more than the bonsai videos. My trees are that slow growing I just forget about them and just focus on my orchids. ✌️🐝

If I do try to divide rootsystems of many plants growing in a pot, I do use a large bucket filled with water, next I do move the plant roots up and down many times in the water while pushing the plants softly appart. The roots will most stay intact after the plant roots where seperated. I saw another video, someone did cut the roots between the plants, next they did cut the leaves in half so the roots left can support the leaves and the plant can grow back till flowering.

hello. I saw a short video clip on propagating a Clovia plant from a leaf. I’m trying to learn how to do that. In water in earth? Have you tried that or are you aware of doing that that way. I enjoyed watching this video of your dividing a plant. Mine is quite big. It’s about six years old. We took it apart like you’ve done that there in the video but only took out the baby and one small section. I didn’t want to set it back too far. But my question now is as the plant is growing and the bottom leaves come off. It leaves a stock. What do you do with that? Can I plant the plant further down in the dirt, the next time I transplant it?
