Thanks so much for making this film. Summer holidays for us in the 60's and 70's were day trips from Romford to Southend. So much of your film has brought it all back. The Crooked House has indeed been there forever. There used to be a chamber of horrors too showing various means of torture.
Ah thanks a lot, really appreciate it and it’s exactly why I do the videos so that people can see how it’s changed over the years! I remember going in the 90s when Peter Pans Playground only had the west side of the pier! Would’ve loved to see it in 60s and 70s
Haven't been to Southend since i was a small child. After watching this video don't fancy going back! Watched your one on leigh on sea which was interesting. How about Shoeburyness? I hear it's very quiet?
Enjoyed this immensely, also no Curzol (?) has been on sale for years I think. They tried to renovate it a couple of times but wasn't too successful I don't think. If you search for it it's amazing how much of a feature it was back in the day and it's so cool inside still!

I remember the boy racers on the road, now it is a 20mph zone with cameras.
Aha yes I remember that! If you ever went down the seafront in the evening it would just be boy racers!

After seeing Southend on the news the other night I’m not sure I want to go back 😂I’ve never actually been to Shoeburyness though !
Your commentary cracked me up throughout omg but yeah great video, do love a bit of Southend! So sad when little parts of nostalgia disappear 😪
Yes exactly, I’m most distressed about The Cricketers 😂
@@jackryanmiller haha yeah rip
LOL! Honest video!
Ha ha I do try 😎
The Cricketers was never along the seafront..
We still do have Rossi's.
Ah yes it was The Foresters Arms I meant, not The Cricketers 😄
One of thos rooftop apartments at 3:30 is for sale at £750,000
Wow! Not cheap then 🫣

Oh god yeh I probably last went in there over 10 years ago to play bowling, so sad 😖
Another great video! Let’s be honest though, Mushu the dog was the star of the show!!!
Thanks so much! Mushu will need his own channel at this rate 🤪
