- Tribute to Miss Universe 1999 - 1st RunnerUp Miriam Quiambao Miss PHILIPPINES. Was originally crowned as Bb Pilipinas WORLD (MISS PHILIPPINES WORLD) but later took over the title Bb Pilipinas Universe and replaced Janelle Bautista in representng the PHILIPPINES at the Miss UNIVERSE Pageant.
For me sya ang isa sa best miss philippines kse she won on her own merits walang fans o social media influence unlike nung mga ngayon....

She was a clear standout here. Oriental Bombshell. Fierce, Competitive and definitely elegant! She has been the prototype of Miss Universe Philippines! The best of all the representatives we have up to date.

The best Miss Universe we've never had! her performances during the Evening gown and Swimsuit round were unforgettable. And after many years, she remains true to her answer during the top 5 question and answer round....despite falling down many times in her life, she continues to stand up and remain strong.

Marjun Tabs, for several years now, that iconic powder blue Halston gown have always been considered by fashion aficionados as one of the best gowns that ever graced the Ms Universe stage.

Some of the best gowns in my opinion are Paulina's silver linear designed gown, Zuleyka's gown is iconic, 2008's Dominican Republic's was amazing, the mirror flowers; these are best as far as I can remember, of course including Miriam's and Cat's gowns.

After Miriam's 1st runner-up finish in Miss Universe 1999, it went downhill in the 2000s decade for the Philippines in MU where they had nobody reaching the semifinals.
It wasn't until Venus Raj that became the catalyst for Philippines' renaissance in Miss Universe after her fourth runner-up finish in 2010.

It's already 2025 and yet here I am witnessing her performance in Miss Universe. When Binibining Pilipinas 1999's winners in World and International were both unplaced, the Universe said otherwise when she finished First Runner-Up.
It should have been her coz her answer is still substantial its all about her delivery that time. During her time they also took into consideration the confidence in delivering if only she didnt choke and delivered it smoothly it could have been her and that is where Bostwana took the lead. Mpule without batting of an eyelash she delivered her answer smoothly.
Miriam Quiambao is elegance and grace personified. A better answer to her interview question would definitely have clinched her the crown; but it wasn’t meant to be. Nevertheless, she proudLy showed the whole universe how truly beautiful, elegant, graceful, and intelligent Filipino women are. Represent!👍👌😉😉

My favorite part was the swimsuit with her best pasarela, followed by that evening gown performance when she ramped that Halston gown, she looks goddess with that evening gown, and the last part was when she was called in the top 5 and answering that top 5 question with the unexpected yell and cheer from the crowd with standing ovation, she has a lot of fans..
