Brooo. This is one of the best songs I ever heard. Was listening to Jar of Flies on Spotify and after this random song started playing. I got instant chills. I love music like this. This shit is so fucking good holy
Been playing since I was 14, had some struggles and have quit on and off. But everytime I pick that guitar up, days of the new or Alice In Chains is what I’m practicing! And it gives me joy and purpose for being a better me 🙏
+mrbucket75 Paul on drums/percussions is an incredible drummer. He has toured with on an off with Travis for over decade. The secod guitarist is pretty good also thats why Travis had him playing with him. Travis has only a hand full of guitarist on stage with him maybe 4 in 20 years. Travis Wouldn't have scrubs on stage with him.
Damn, I was thinking that he sounds like shit. Totally ass lol then I read your comment, and now, I see it entirely new. It is raw, and now I appreciate that more thanks to your comment. 🙏🏽
I think this is the first time I've ever commented on a UA-cam video. I absolutely love Days of the New to this day! I had the chance to see them live once in 2009 at a small venue near my house where there were roughly 9 people in the audience (counting me). It was the most amazing concert I've ever been to!
I went and saw him live right around this time at a small club. I honestly was never really into Days of the New. Not that I didn't like them I just never heard anything much other than the radio stuff. After seeing him live I was absolutely blown away! His realness and energy is something amazing.
I had the pleasure of seeing the live in 1997 in San Antonio and the show was phenomenal to be fair. It was amazing and energetic. A real pleasure of a show that's for sure in a very, very small venue.
some songs come over you, I didn't hear it until many years after it's release, but I can describe this "6 minutes" of my life in great detail. Unbelievable, it's getting high without product.
This song is still straight smoke. Travis' life is one we can all learn from. Him being an aspie and going through life not knowing it. Nothing at all "wrong" anyone who is an aspie. Seeing life differently isn't wrong, maybe to you, and not to others? Not sure where he is now, may God bring him grace and peace.
the small group taht made the institution that employs the "dr.s" who coin these terms are master deceivers and have made a world of lies/labels for us to live in.
I am an Argentinian who lived in Chattanooga but I could not see the show travis. he is a genius of world music. discover your music made me more sensitive. his music as me goose bumps could only do Eddie Vedder. Travis are a god to me.
There’s no way, absolutely no way he surpasses Cornell, with Cornell’s writing style is lyrics and of course the way he played the guitar. I’m sorry but there’s no way he’s even close to Chris. Songbook was one of the most amazing shows I’ve ever seen.
I bought all these albums. In order. Live where DOTN just didn't catch on. Everyone was still stuck in the 70s or it HAD to be Metallica etc... They were unique. Had a good sound. And it's just NOW that I find that they done it at a young age.
Days of the New is one of the 90’s greatest tragedies... I don’t know what went on behind the scenes...but suffice it to say that despite the fact that this is their best song, their debut album was significantly better than “their” (aka - Meeks’) follow up... Wish they could’ve stayed together... Saw them open for Jerry Cantrell and Metallica at the Gorge in Washington state... They were the best part of the show...period... Not sure why “they” (aka - Meeks) thought it could get any better...
You couldn’t be more off with your assessment; the debut was undoubtedly amazing, but the albums that followed (aka-Meeks) and unreleased stuff are on another level.
Dude, I have to admit that I agree with literally everything you guys are saying. They're incredibly underrated, this album IS a masterpiece, but damn, they sound like hell in this video lol. They all sound super drunk. Still... I'm grateful to see this.
I hope the crowd is this calm when I see him in Dallas. This video stands out from a lot of DOTN videos. There are always drunken assholes in the crowd.
This is soo cool. I'd like to see them live. Anyone know if they plan on hittin the road again? Possibly close to winsor, detroit. Maybe Canada? I heard that he's not aloud over the border thats all.
I still kick myself for not making it to the Full Circle Tour though. Tantric has definitely had it's share of up and downs and band members as well though.
I definitely miss the power of his voice. But he isn't as bad or as fast as what Layne Staley did. Just to put him above Layne Staley says a lot, no matter the metric. Also, I'd rather meet this Travis than the alternate world Travis that was a Billy Joel knock off
One of the most underrated bands honestly
One of the best voices from the 90's.
Brooo. This is one of the best songs I ever heard. Was listening to Jar of Flies on Spotify and after this random song started playing. I got instant chills. I love music like this. This shit is so fucking good holy
Yeah fr, there are pretty much no other solely acoustic rock bands which Is a shame cus it sounds sooo good
One of my favorites songs of all time
You know the guy is good when he makes you want to pick up and learn the guitar.
Exactly what happened to me, I play drums but I listened to DOTN heavily for a couple of months then went and bought an acoustic guitar
Been playing since I was 14, had some struggles and have quit on and off. But everytime I pick that guitar up, days of the new or Alice In Chains is what I’m practicing! And it gives me joy and purpose for being a better me 🙏
He was good enough to sing The End with Ray, Robbie and John (The Doors).
He might be hard to be around, but Travis Meeks won't be recognized as a genius until he has passed. Seems to be the way it works.
+bibby42 this version is amateur hour. These people surrounding him are not good musicians. Its what he could get, he's an ass.
+mrbucket75 Paul on drums/percussions is an incredible drummer. He has toured with on an off with Travis for over decade. Travis Wouldn't have scrubs on stage with him.
Maybe it's the mix then, it sounds flat, no energy, just boring for such a great song.
mrbucket75 he aint no ass hes just going through shit, anyone would act mean if people were spreading rumors about them that werent true
@@Rippersauc3 he's not an ass . He has no patience at all though lol.
ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED BANDS EVEEEEERRR.... I've meet their music just 2 years ago and love it. 2021.
one of the greatest songs ever
check out "dancing with the wind" page on facebook!
his voice is raw and purely captured here. love it
Damn, I was thinking that he sounds like shit. Totally ass lol then I read your comment, and now, I see it entirely new.

this.

beautiful.
Those people just witnessed a fucking musical god at his best. WOW.

Miss the original Days of the New band...Hail to Meeks!
This song and album are an absolute masterpiece. Such a pity what happened to Travis
I hope he can find peace one day. I was able to get out of that life. Still in my 30s and picking up the pieces. I hope he makes it out one day.
@@KingEdwardMMVIII what happened to him.. I just discover this band..
@@adamphaomei4984 Addiction to drugs
@adamphaomei4984 meth got him. Look up Travis Meeks intervention on UA-cam. As talented as Alice in chains
@@pjs8269 Have u heard anything more recent than that 15 yr old Intervention episode?

Awesome!!! What a beautiful song!! I LOVE the lyrics and music! You sound great , love when songs come from the heart!!
Found this gem of a song listening to Apple Music. Wow!
Thanks Travis and any who that put this vídeo.

teddymarty well spoken! Absolutely 👍

Fantastic song! I live with this
Me, Meeks..his guitar, and cello girl in a dim lit room.. one hand on my glass of bourbon and the other on my forehead.
I love You & Your Talent Travis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love it, thank you so much Travis Meeks. you are amazing we are missing you❤️🔥🤘
Love love love this song!
Thanks for the post..Travis is nothing short of amazing!!
This was his professor season.

awesome performer...
Travis is a genius. Green album, yellow album red album all works of art in that order.
There is no one greater than Travis.
He is up there with Cobain, Cornell and Staley.
There’s no way, absolutely no way he surpasses Cornell, with Cornell’s writing style is lyrics and of course the way he played the guitar. I’m sorry but there’s no way he’s even close to Chris. Songbook was one of the most amazing shows I’ve ever seen.

Do you happen to have the setlist of that gig?
The original Days of the New splitting is definitely one of the better things to happen. Because then we got them AND Tantric.
I still kick myself for not making it to the Full Circle Tour though. Tantric has definitely had it's share of up and downs and band members as well though.
He wrote this song about his son learning to drive. No shit haha...
is he wearing glasses?
It would be better if they had the flute or whetever it is like in the studio version, either that or turn up that cello XD
tbh this sounds like shit despite being one of my favorite heroin songs
This is what we lose when empaths are surrounded by narcissists.
Damn. That made me tear up.
You smoked what? Totally off key. WOW!
Off key..? You try to insult a legend and don't even know basic musical terminology. Lmao.....you're cute kid.
