The whistling sound is attributed to airflow over .50 cal gunports. A terrifying sound to infantry and armor being strafed.

Bit of a random question but if any Germans can answer that’d be appreciated...I’m curious as to what goes through your mind when seeing a BF-109 or FW 190 or any Nazi era warplanes at these shows.
As an aviation enthusiast, seeing all these warbirds excite me. I’m awed at the technological marvel these things were for their time. But as an American, when I see Mustangs, Corsairs, and even Spitfires, I also feel great sense a great sense of pride and gratitude for our fallen Allied heroes.
I wonder what Germans must feel when seeing these WW2 birds, in particular when seeing their own Nazi machines and how there might be mixed emotions there.

There is nothing like the song of a P-51 going flat out. I suspect due to the limitations of the airspace he is operating in this Mustang in this video is limited as to how fast he can go. Here is a link to P-51 Mustang known as " Voodoo" going as fast as one can go in a Mustang...
