To everyone who is asking why the font gets darker. Its to symbolize deterioration. Like how the walkers are deteriorating over time because they are literally rotting corpses. I just found that to be cool.
I hope that after all out war they go for a fresh new title sequence with clean backgrounds and a polished title that is no longer decaying. They can keep the song still. This would look great for season 9 and a new fresh start for the new story arc.

Granted, it was promised that Rick wouldn't live to the end of the approximate 300-issue run in the comics. But, we know all too well that Kirkman doesn't usually do things the same way twice, but who knows? That's what makes it still interesting to watch.
Every season the title THE WALKING DEAD at the end gets more and more dead damage looking!! It's like it is DYING slowly to where we cannot read it anymore!!! :D I didn't notice it was doing that till after season 3 back in the day!!! Great video A-A-Ron! lol XD
@@007spudman There is no good end for the show. In the 9th Intro you can see some reanimation and green color in the Sign. That represents the better life conditions in the world there.
Nobody else picking up the font? It could basically be showing how over the season the walkers are decomposing more and more to the point there gonna die out. It could even be hinting Mother Nature taken over again
TheLooseMoose It's part of a soundtrack from Bear McCreary for the show! It was used in the last scene of Season 2 when we first see the Prison and in Season 5 in a post credits scene with Morgan! The official name for it is 'Beside the Dying Fire' but its also on UA-cam as 'The Prison' theme!
