I'm from the UK. It was not a battle, it was an evacuation, and as Churchill said wars are not won by evacuations, however it was pivotal. In rescuing the majority of British soldiers, along with some French etc, it kept the opposition against Hitler alive and the Atlantic Wall drew in many, many German forces throughout the next 4 years. In 1940 Hitler had not yet stabbed Stalin in the back so we did stand alone, with our colonial allies. When he did invade Russia he ended up having to fight on 2 fronts a basic error for any leader. Stalingrad, Kursk, Monte Cassino and D Day etc were some of the major battles that turned the tide of war for sure, but Dunkirk was very important.

In this and other productions of battles in WWII there are instances of blurred or pixelated victims. I realize those sights might be terrible to view they are nothing less than censorship. True war is terrible but showing the true horrors of these events might frighten us to realize this MUST not happen again.

I think that this particular channel sanitizes the war videos in case they are shown to young school aged children. There are channels that have uncensored versions, if you hunt around a bit.

True. But if u open the door for it in war videos then ur opening it up for faces of death and cartel death videos. Its either u show violence or u dont. UA-cam dont.

In a courtroom David Irving said, “if the soldiers that stormed the Normandy beaches in June 1944 could see England as it is today they wouldn’t have gone 40 yards up that beach”.

@@augustuswayne9676 Yeah, we got a guy who calls the world's worst human right's abusing as*hole, putin, "Brilliant" and a "genius". My uncle/aunt adopted 2 young Ukrainian children because their parents were MURDERED right in front of them. The offending invaders were quickly whisked off the battlefield and are now hidden away in Russia to avoid war crimes. Maybe our society will see anybody bold enough to criticize the president tortured/imprisoned or "falling" out of hotel windows, just like vlad. The fat orange also calls Orban a "great leader". Every day all dissent in Hungary gets more brutally quashed. RACISM is ENCOURAGED there! Fatso also thinks a sexual predator (takes one to know one) of young girls should be our attorney general and a batsh*t crazy pro wrestling (what a SLEAZY job) idiot should run the dept of education. It's going to get worse.

What a despicable comment! Leave it to a Holocaust denier to say something that STUPID. What difference does it make if he said it "in a courtroom"? He was HUMILIATED in that case and lost all credibility (except with the tin-foil hat crowd)! Do you really think those soldiers would prefer a world of Gestapo, SS, Einsatzgruppen, brutal racial extermination, where all dissent is met with imprisonment, torture, and death to modern Britain? I interviewed many D-Day survivors and, to a man said, even 70 years on, that it was the greatest thing they ever did.

Well, the war broke the back of the British Empire, beyond recovery - something Churchill must have been aware of by the beginning of 1945, even before the Allies crossed the borders into Germany, but he was determined that this demise should NOT be seen as part of the story of WW2, as he intended to write it.
