I LOVE Stevie Ray Vaughan, and I have since I first heard him in1984, saw him live in Davenport Iowa in 85. When you started this video, I got the same chills he made on my skin all those years ago.🥰😍❤💙

I have been waiting for you to do this! Stevie was such a kind soul. His childhood was difficult, especially his relationship with his father. He overcame the drugs & booze and then helped others do the same. He was truly a kind & humble man. Heaven got a good one when they got Stevie. Thanks for doing this!

Hey Jordan, I posted on your channel before about SRV. I started watching your channel years ago when I was looking up my neighborhood I was living at in West Hollywood off the strip!
This video was a great video but a hard one to watch. Being a huge SRV fan as a kid and him having a huge impact on my guitar playing and just life in general. I remember hearing the devastating news just like yesterday! I don’t know if anyone remembers but for a good while there were conflicting reports of who and who wasn’t on board on that helicopter. First they said on board were SRV, his band , Eric Clapton, Robert Cray. Which was mind blowing for me because I just met Robert Cray the week before at one of his concerts. I met him by his tour bus and he could not have been nicer!
Then the news finally came out, and it was confirmed and I just remember being in shock and going home and just sleeping through the night hoping it was just a bad dream!
I was so devastated by SRV’s death that following year, I found out they were building a statue to honor him and fans could donate money to help build it in his honor! So I had to contribute, no question! Now mind you, I did not have a lot of money and I was only a teenager. I sold one of my guitars that I was not playing and sent a money order of $250 dollars to his statue. I remember a lot of friends who were not musicians did not understand and thought I was nuts and thought I was stupid and thought it was probably a scam. But it wasn’t, at all!
Months later I got a personal letter from Jimmy Vaughan and Stevie’e mother thanking me for my donation and personally signed by Jimmy and Stevie’e mother. Then I would get updates on the statue building process. When it was finally built, I actually received a letter from Stevie’s estate inviting me to come to the official unveiling of the statue. I could not make it because I was still so young and it was going to happen in weeks and back then flights were insane prices at that much last minute and I just could not afford it.
But I have the letter from the family still today framed. And when I always see that statue it makes me so proud and happy I was able to contribute to it! Rest In Peace Stevie Ray Vaughan.

RIP SRV 🙏🎶🎸. Hey Jordan, quick story you’ll dig I think…..
While living in Austin in 95’, I was 18 doing tree trimming. And went to a house early in morning to work. When we pulled up and turned the truck off, I heard guitar playing coming from a garage with the door open halfway. As I walked around the house, I passed up garbage cans with the name Vaughan on them. A few hours later the homeowner came out to talk with us, he came out in all black clothes with his hair greased back. IT WAS JIMMY VAUGHAN!!! I’ll never forget the day I met and got to listen to him playing guitar.

SRV the greatest guitarist of all time!
We visited Stevie's resting place in October 2018 along with seeing the bronze sculpture of him in Austin after attending the ACL three day music festival. I have one of Stevies guitar picks I cherish along with a original Eric Clapton/Alpine Valley tour patch given out to a select few.
RIP SRV. ❤ We miss you.

The first time I saw Stevie play I was blown away, sat mesmerized. Picturing him walking on the porch of that home is wild. I've long been a proponent that schools and parents need to pay attention to what a kids interests are and support it. Schools are geared to make everyone the same and squash a persons natural abilities and interests. Except sports though, schools and parents push kids to sports even if the kid hates it.

I am proud to say I had the honor and privilege of seeing him at Steamboat in Austin, Tx in 1986. I was 14 y.o. but my dad knew the owner, therefore, I was allowed in. I had no interest in being there, but after seeing him I was mesmerized by his skills. It changed my whole perspective on the choice of music I listened to after that night. He changed my life.

Around 1975 we used to go to at the “Electric ballroom” in Dallas. Sunday night was .25 beer night. A lot of locals would showcase their talent and Stevie Ray was there one that. In between sets I took him a beer and he handed me his guitar pic. He wasn’t known back then. A few quarters later I stumble out and lose that guitar pic before I get to my car. The biggest regret of my life to this day.

She said they were not real good yet but they neighborhood kids liked him and gave him encouragement.

Stevies rendition of voodoo Chile/child at the greek in '89 was jaw dropping. I have never heard a better cover of that song from another player/singer to this day. A true inspiration. And I don't know who was responsible for the sound board that night but they're really good at their job. I'll never say one player is the best or better then another, merely due to the fact that players are like flavors and ingredients. Everyone's got their favs. He is, however, a pioneer and a true gunslinger. He's one of the most iconic to pick the instrument up, bar none.

Thanks for this video. I am visiting Dallas when I in USA next year. I will go pay my respects to SRV at this cemetery.
Not sure if anyone mentioned below, I scrolled thru many comments but gave up. The 59 Strat he called "Lenny" is buried with him I believe.
New subscriber. I got a lot to catch up on and research on my trip. Take care on your travels.

I love this man and his music. Stevie could make a guitar sing. I didn't get to see him play live. I thank Kenny Wayne Shepherd for turning me on to Stevie's music. Kenny Wayne loves Stevie and his music too. Kenny Wayne has some of the surviving members of Double trouble in his band now. Great music. Such a sad loss. Rest In Peace Stevie. We still love your music. Thank you Jordan for this great vlog. You and Jah stay safe and be well.

Gosh, this was really tough to watch. I’ve been waiting for you to do this Vlog since Tony and I became Lyon Hearts almost 4 years ago. I remember exactly where I was the day I heard Stevie Ray had died and for me that was the day the music died. Stevie played with pure soul and no one can make a guitar cry quite like Stevie Ray . I don’t think I’ve cried that much in one of your Vlogs in a long time actually since you went to Waylon‘s grave with your guitar and played for Waylon . what a beautiful Vlog that was Jordan thank you for taking the time to do SRV💔💕

An awful, awful accident. Such a great loss to us, lovers of his music. I remember watching him on "Austin City Limits" years ago and was amazed at his intensity. It's like the music in his head and his heart and his stomach came out through his fingers and he played that guitar within an inch of its life. The result was sheer beauty.

That's the one where he broke the stings while playing, switched guitars in mid song, and never missed a beat

Your vlogs are so amazing. I didn't know much about Stevie Ray Vaughan but after hearing you talking about him I sure am going to find out more. There are times when I'm not really sure I would like the content of the vlog but I start watching it anyway. I find myself really entertained and learning something new. You are born to do something like this
