In addition to what Justice Carpio explained, PH maps should be updated to also include Benham Rise in eastern Luzon. These updated maps should be printed and posted in all PH schools, official documents like passport, currencies, and consular posts abroad, including the UN.

May I say that it's high time that this subject matter should be taught in our schools, colleges and universities and PMA, PNPA, PMMA, NDCP, military schools/courses to reinforce our true .sense of nationalism. (The Chinese are being taught that China owns South China Sea.) Our libraries should have documents and narratives about the true PHILIPPINE Territories as defined by the the three Treaties, UNCLOS and international arbitration ruling favoring the Philippines claim, including the Spanish maps of 1875 as corrected by map of 1888 which depict the official Philippine territory/archipelago that include the Spratly and Scarbourough/Panatag, and your narrative. .The official Spanish map of 1875 as corrected by map 1888 should be obtained our government whenever circumstances occur of its availabilityAnd our new maps should clearly state the 3 Treaties - Treaty of Paris, Treaty of Washington and the Treaty of UK. Moreover, our government and the Filipino people should be ready to correct any misinformation due to ignorance or deliberate disinformation narratives about the true Philippines territory.

Thank you for making this presentation Justice Carpio, I don't understand why the legal "Luminaries" you mentioned did not have the same opinion as you as the illegal occupiers of our legal territories in the West Philippine Sea.

Many Chinese had told me that treaty of Paris had decided the limits of Philippines and therefore Philippines has no legitimate claim to Scarborough shoal and Spratlys. I however wondered how Philippines could have won the tribunal judgment. Your video made it very clear why. I’d love to get the slides so I can study more. I took photos with my iPhone!

Guys, read the 1879 Derrotero del Archipielago Filipino (Spanish Official Printed Document). You can read and see for yourself on this document (with Philippine Archipelago Map) the territories of the Philippines (with longitude and latitude) outside the 1898 Treaty of Paris line yet included within Philippine Archipelago. This document proves Scarborough Shoal, Spratly Islands, Macclesfield Bank, and even Pratas Island are within Philippine Achipelago, which means they are also included in 1900 Treaty of Washington.

I hope that your institute will write an article word-by-word about this or the transcript itself with maps and photos so that it can be used by media, as well as in the editing of Wiki pages, where Chinese forces are editing Wiki pages in favor of China's position. In one wiki page, the mention of the Velarde map was even removed! In the age where students (and even journalists) use Wiki pages for learning (not just in the Philippines but globally), this is very important if we want to win in the court of world opinion.
Update: After the Velarde map was re-included in Wiki pages, some editors marked the Wiki pages as "not neutral". The devil works hard but Chinese propagandists work harder.
