This movie felt so genuine and warm. It felt like a movie I would have loved to watch as a child and I never thought I would get to relive those feelings again, since I'm rather cynical when it comes to animated films these days. This one made me feel like a child again
Seen the movie several times and I enjoy it each and every time I watch it. Very wholesome, good humor, solid world-building, rounded characters with neat personalities, and just a dash of the "Found Family" Troupe thrown in. (Which is the best troupe ever, you can't change my mind.)
This movie’s story is, admittedly, paint by numbers, but it’s major strengths are the leads, and the overall mood and atmosphere. Such a cute and warm movie!
I'm a grandfather of a four year-old boy and his year-old sister. Just this morning I discovered Ernest and Celestine. Probably just right for the boy... and maybe because he will concentrate on watching it... his little sister just might want to copy him. The artwork is great. Also, we have a daughter and son (in-law) who have lived in Paris for seven years and they visit twice a year and we all love those times. Bears and mice seem to do well in a talented illustrator's pencils and paint brushes. Thanks for your critique.
Let me just say, the English dub is PHENOMENAL. The voice actress who played Celestine in the dub, MacKenzie Foy, was just 12 years old when she recorded her lines.
One of my favorite movie of all time, earnest is a very fitting name for a protagonist, because this movie has such a warm and honest feeling. I very highly recommend it.
Great review!! I came across this gem on Amazon Prime and decided to give it a whirl. I ended up really enjoying it. Btw, what's the name of the fox movie? I've tried looking it up but I can't find it.
It's cutesy, almost disgustingly so. Like you said, the story is the most rehashed of tropes, but it's done in a very genuine way that you will allow it to play out..... until it falls apart when they are caught and tried. That aside, the world-building was novel (The dentist scenes), and the comedy of all the bad things happening to that one family (They were undeserving of the suffering, despite the film arguing otherwise). Overall: Story: 4/10 Presentation: 8.5/10
i loved this movie so much and i’m SO SAD about the fandom being next to nonexistence and that i didn’t find out about it in time to see the sequel also ernest is hot
Fr where is the fandom for this masterpiece??? This kills me everyday lol I regret learning about it so late im just glad the sequel is on Amazon prime
I my self went through all of this 6x times become my school had no other movie as a graduation thigh -> So for me it just went sour and never superb -> I always saw the bear as abusive and the little mouse as a complete idiot from my point of view. The idea that these two would meat together were always alien to me become of biology and even story telling. The insane idea that a bear would care for such a animal is alien to me and i never saw this movie as normal thinking of a world. In a way i see it now as i grew up i know what its feels to be the bear and know you cannot help the little mouse. I have to give this story more then i used to -> Being a bear and knowing you can only live and rely on your self is hard until you find that little mouse that will show you the way.

Wouldn't want to, bc it's my favourite too, and that made me love the movie even more
Already seen the movie. It was epic

Finally someone talks about this movie!! I just rewatched this from 6 years ago and it just warmed my heart .
