Crazy amazing. Our family had one new from the factory in 1972. Had we known it would be such a collector, we probably wouldn't have traded it in for an '82 Sentra! Great job guys. I'll want to look you up when I find the wagon I want brought back to stock.

what a lovely ending for an awesome project. I want to build a wagon like that. but it will (probably) be a 1980 hillman avenger (here named dodge 1500) that has simililar shape (but rear suspension is coils instead of leaf spring from factory :P). congratulations!

My parents bought a brand new Datsun wagon with the Woody they drove it 20 years then gave it to my older brother then I got it then we gave it to my sister in-law and other brother..wish I had it now

I had a 1979 or 1978 Datsun I bought in 1987 for $450.00 when I moved to Honolulu.....I bought it up at a dealer in Wahiawa in the mountains of Oahu from Cox Auto Sales......the salesman was an old guy named Jimmy....I tried to get him down to $400.00.....Jimmy said "What the fuck, you cant even rent a car for a month for $450.00"......I paid the $450.00.......I had that car for about a year.....drove the shit out of it....my beach car......I was 22/23..........I think it was my favorite car in my life along with the 73 Ford Torino my dad bought for me.....I remember it had the piece of plastic on the side/back window area....

Can't say I like it. It's a stance car. Built to put smiles on people's faces. Sr was a cool conversion...in 1996..
By 2001 it was probably the last engine I would put in a Datsun. Apart from the fact it's the most common conversion... mainstream and personally I don't like them. Once you start cutting up a Datsun putting stupid wide body and the rest you wreak the car. Datsun body lines are right from the beginning. You change it you stuff it..all in the name of stance and dish.
Datsun needs an Old school motor like a z series or fj20. Sr are crap. Buying a engine and bolting it in yeah cool. Any decent car builder does exactly that. Build it not buy it. And how many people U got working on that car? Any decent car builder does it themselves. Everything.
This Datsun is the perfect example of the type of car I wouldn't build. Use your brains and make it go better. Instead of building it with $ and a team of people and look at the result you have a car with bolt on panels that looks hideous in every way shape and form.The way U cut them rear arches out and just left it. The fact you got the rims cut in half to have more dish than the next guy says it all. And it's an auto so your wife can drive it.
Every heard of teaching her how to drive manual.....or getting a new wife...both will work fine. I would like to say I love your work..but it's not your work..I would like to say it's an awesome build..but it's not. And I would like to say I'd love to drive it. But no interest. In driving an auto. I could build two really decent Datsuns with the money you've wasted on this bukake mobile..
