I’m with Perna. Broncos fans have become extremely cynical for a myriad of reasons. I don’t dare get my hopes up.

As a Seahawks fan. Your offensive line will instantly improve with a quarterback who throws the ball on time. I think you'll be ok.
But the important thing is that it won't feel like actual torture to watch. The last two years with Russell Wilson I just watched red zone. Literally couldn't watch.
organization panicked when they got new leadership. They had expectations for a team that they didnt have and russel wilson was a meme. Sean Payton used that panic to do what he wanted.
The ownership is the problem and needs to have a plan for the team. They hope bo nix will save them but he wont by himself.
While I sometimes feel a bit sad for perna, I'm then reminded the broncos won a Superbowl in the last ten years. Also, he's old enough to have witnessed when they won in the 90s.
Let''s be honest, Perna's old enough to remember watching their first ever win against the Boston Patriots in September of '69...in his day they used to put an onion in their belt as was the fashion at the time

It’s really not bad when we’ve had two parades in our city the last 3 years. Avalanche and Nuggets are going to competing for titles for the next 5 years. So just know we are not Cleveland or Minnesota we are not in hell in the slightest.

I'm a Saints fan and this is just the reality of having Sean Payton as a head coach. The Broncos will have a ton of mid-level players, but you need that one superstar on each side of the ball that's going to bring it all together.
I'm a Saints fan and I know of Lucas Krull from when he absolutely balled out for us in the preseason and made some truly clutch plays but didn't make the roster because we had Jimmy Graham, Juwan Johnson, and Taysom Hill at TE already

Oregon Duck fan here. Hoping Nix and Franklin have good seasons or at least good flashes.
I can see the Broncos winning anywhere from 4 to 9 games. It depends most importantly on how well Bo Nix adjusts to the NFL, and whether or not the pieces around Bo Nix hold together. If he gets some decent protection, a solid run game, we know Nix can get the ball out quick and that's exactly how Sean Payton wants to run his offense.
It's definitely a rebuild season, so Broncos fans should keep the expectations low, and hope to see growth and flashes of brilliance from Nix, understanding he's going to make a fair share of rookie mistakes.

There’s probably a fair bit of talent on the Broncos’ offense. What’s always gone unsaid with Russ is that the Seahawks spent more money on their o-line than any other team in football when they were in their prime. Once all those contracts came due, though, they had to let go of guys like Russell Okung and James Carpenter.
Russ needs a full row of 1st-rounders and Pro Bowlers in front of him, and while Sean Payton has built his offenses trench-first in the same way, Brees could also make it work in 3 seconds or less. If Nix can do that (he played at Oregon, so why not?), they’ll at least be able to play in structure.

I'm a big believer in sitting rookie QBs for at least one season. Mahomes sat, Love sat, Rodgers sat, etc. Add to that all I see in these rookie QBs is Jake Delhomme, Tyrod Taylor, and other mediocre QBs, Zach Wilson should start for you this year. All 17 games.
If Wilson wants the starting job he can earn it
The problem you face is all the rookies that sat had viable qb’s that they could learn from and play behind. We, like the vast majority of the league, don’t have that luxury at the moment. I would be surprised if Zach makes the 52 man roster honestly.
I disagree because you're wasting a year on their rookie contract, which is crucial considering how much these guys get paid now adays. You gotta figure out if the guy is the guy and sitting on the bench doesn't show you anything.
The problem with that is Bo Nix is arguably the most NFL ready rookie QB in this class outside of Caleb because he spent like a century in college.

When a hole opens in the line that you can drive a truck thru, Bo Nix will use it. Russel Wilson would stop, look at a running lane, then scurry around in the backfield some more until he got sacked or could throw a screen pass for no gain.
I think Raiders have stronger pieces overall than the Broncos. Maxx Crosby, Davante Adams, and Christian Wilkins are all stars, where the Broncos have PS2 and that's about it for stars. Also, they have a QB that proved he can get them to the edge of the playoffs with Gardner Minshew and the Broncos are running it with an unproven rookie.
Who is the center that replaces Cushenberry?

We had the 7th best OL in the league last season. Russ just made them look horrible by holding on to the ball for too long.
The way Perna puts so much blame on Wilson is frustrating. Dude, your team let in 70 points against the Dolphins and only avoided history because the other team felt bad... Your offensive talent is mediocre, and even your 'star' coach had less success than Wilson did with the Seahawks (who have been nowhere close to a ring since). I get that Wilson isn't great anymore but he was genuinely one of your better performers last season
Wilson's passing yards would have led the league if they counted the yards thrown laterally between the sidelines and not just passes completed downfield.
There is NOTHING about this team to be super excited for or believe in. I see us a 5 or 6 win team. If they prove me wrong, awesome. But I’m not expecting much for years to come from this organization
Honest? Doesnt Perna have a law degree?? Hopefully Surtain and Simmons lock down the secondary and they give up no more 70 pt games (fingers crossed!).
I can't shake the feeling that the Broncos are going to be a 5 or 6-win team this year. Looking at their schedule, I see two or three games that I can say "the Broncos should win this" with any level of confidence, and could see roughly half of them going either way, but I fully expect them to lose the rest.
I don't think they're going to bottom out, but I expect them to be a noticeably worse team than last year, especially if Nix doesn't start many/any games.

You never watched the games and it shows. I'd rather suffer through a 5 or 6 win season with Nix than watch Russ run into sacks and lob the ball to Sutton on a prayer. Nix is a rookie and Russ is a 13 year vet, it shouldn't be a surprise if a rookie does worse. A lot of it was his fault. SP made him look as good as he's gonna get.

Next off season we have cap space??? No, it's 2026. Still paying Wilson in 2025. Broncos will be 2nd or 3rd this year. Bet now, big reward. Better against the run, better on the edge, receivers will be better in Patrick doesn't trip and break hip, Javonte is now two years removed from the knee injury, and the team is young. We will miss Jewel, Simmons and well, maybe not so much Jackson - but that guy could make plays. I don't think the loss at center is game changing. Bet the over for the 5.5 bs win total.

I beat they go 10-7 and get 2nd in the AFC West, I have a feeling the Chargers are gonna be much worse than people realize (No real WRs, Possibly the most injury prone RB duo and a Defense that was just awful last year), Raiders have a coach that I do not believe in at all and without a good QB to lead that offense I dont see them winning too many close games. Either team will be in the 9-6 win range. Then of course the Chiefs are kinda a no brainer to win the division.
I agree with your take. Broncos main problem is that we are unproven at the moment. Meaning we could turn out incredibly good or we can turn out to be absolutely terrible. Hopefully its that they turn out good tho!

I’m incredibly unimpressed with the Broncos roster…Surtain is probably a top 5 CB, but I don’t think the broncos have anyone else who sniffs the top 16 at their position. Feels like an incredibly below average team

Why are people still high on the Chargers? They got much worse on offense, weren’t great on defense and were worse than the broncos last year. So they got a nutcase new coach. Chargers are last in division again. I see broncos and raiders battle for second again. Chargers gunna charger.
