We used to do this all the time. The catch is, your alcohol will smell and taste like mouthwash because it's absorbed in the plastic. You need to fill the bottle up with baking soda and warm water and let it sit over night, or at least a few hours. And a glass bottle is better...you only need to let the baking soda and water sit for about a hour before using.
I love how it was quiet the whole time, that even making the drink was a secret. But bravo on the color matching👏👏👏

On my final stages of my alcoholism i was insanely desperate to get a fix so i started drinking Listerine! Ironically i learned it from watching the show Intervention. I drank that shit for a year! Im happy to say i survived and im now 7 years sober!😇

I think a lot of people in comments are missing the point. Not for plane flights, but for cruises with high price drinks. I wouldn't do it because I'm older and don't need that much alcohol. Younger adventurous people would be the ones to do this more. So he's not given up game for alcoholics. Keep it up T Bartender 👏.

Maybe try to add Creme De Menthe, it is a very crucial element to making the "mouthwash" seem legit. The second someone smells that bottle, the jig is up!

I would use those mega cans of Monster energy to hide mine, you can basically do the same as the Listerine. Then you can have it in a fridge too.
I did this for a friend of mine when he was on active duty he couldn't believe how I made it look like the bottle was never opened and he said it was the best new year he ever had away from home lol

Same here , I couldn't stop laughing. A few years ago my brother in law did something like thi0. 6 xes with multiple bottles. Our didn't get his bottle thru because he didn't listen to me. I told him do a green, purple or blue colors because he had a scope bottle. Nope it looked like a goldish color. They took it and told him he can have it after the cruise

I used to do this exact same thing back in boarding school, but with just vodka and blue/green food coloring. Had a big bottle of vodka out in my dresser all year and no one had any idea. Haha.

Na man there be some scary ass super bacteria that can swim in rubbing alcohol as a result of being exposed to disinfectant over and over again in hospitals. That shit be scary man. Luckily it's rare and if you ain't making stuff using medical equipment you good. I gotta look up the Name of it real quick

Once you've crossed this threshold you may have moved from recreational drinker to problem drinker.
That's the difference between spending a 100 on a cruise ship or saving a hundred.
The per drink cost on a cruise ship is about $15-$20 per cocktail or about $120/day for the unlimited package. Smuggling booze on board is tempting to save money.

I tried this exact thing back in 2015 to snuggle booze into a Bahamas cruise. When I got to the check-in where they put ur luggage thru the x-ray,the first thing they did immediately was take that Listerine bottle out and made me open it or risk it being thrown out. So I opened it hoping I'd get lucky but the check-in attendant smelled it and tossed it right away. I still was able to get on board tho. It looked just like Listerine too

Listerine already has about 20%alcohol so many it's just some broke crackhead lol
Make sure you rinse it out good...the minty flavor gets absorbed into your alcohol. It happened with soju for me
FACTS, we went on a cruise and used this method was delighted when the luggage came through and it was still in there.
Only to pour one up and realize it totally tasted like mouthwash !!!!!

In the early 90’s I worked with a guy that always carried a pint size bottle of scope mouthwash in his back pocket and a toothbrush and a small tube of toothpaste in a plastic bag in his other back pocket. We thought it was odd, but never gave it a second thought. Then one day he wrecked a forklift and management noticed he was drunk and soon learned he was an alcoholic and the scope mouthwash was just vodka and food coloring.
I walk into a pub /cinema with a small water bottle full of vodka, order their watery drink and add a bit of my "water" if I feel like wine and a movie I have a bag where I cut the lining and slip a bottle of wine underneath and then pile the top with a couple of sanitary towels and go to the male security who will take a look at be too embarrassed to dig deep into my sanitary towels and I drink my wine in a nice,dark theatre lol.
You do know they sell whiskey, wine, and other alcoholic beverages at certain theaters(Alamo is one of them) now, right??? You don't have to sneak anything in... unless of course, you're just that cheap...

Did exactly this a couple of years ago to smuggle hard liquor onto a cruise ship. All you need is clear liquor and blue food coloring - no need to use blue curacao or midori unless you want to.
You could use food coloring to make it the color of the listerine.
