Fossil footprints and poop - what animals left when they were alive

Dr Lorenzo Marchetti is a vertebrate palaeontologist who specialises in the study of fossil traces. Fossil traces are everything an animal can leave that are not parts of its body. So footprints, swimming traces, digging traces, but also poop and bite marks. In April Lorenzo and I met up at the MuseumFabriek in Enschede to study the fossil footprints from the Henk Oosterink Collection of Winterswijk. We tried to record an interview on the spot, but construction work made this impossible, so here is an interview that we recorded after our collection visit.
