Hello Nick and Vitor, Reasonable price for so much with the benefit of plenty of room for improvements to all of it to enable you to rent out parts of/all of the buildings for holiday let’s with that last big car port becoming an outdoor eating place and bar for residents. It’s at a price where you should have some money to invest to capitalise on the value of the property as a whole. Or you could invest for your family with in-laws in other buildings and convert the large garage for growing family to live in. There’s loads of options for a family to mull over

How do you find a really nice old place in Portugal? My experience was it's either new places like this with little charm or old places that are in shambles and would take a ton of money and time to fix up.
Would it be possible to raze the barn to the ground? There are too many buildings to land ratio especially for Portugal and for someone who doesn't want any business or projects, its a very daunting thing to see each day!!

I think the lady is selling as she's now all alone and all her grown up kids are in Cornwall. As for why it's still for sale, I really don't know, I thought it was great 🤷♂️

Most of the time it's the owners who set the price and most of them are Portuguese, 'milking the foreigners' as you put it.
