Nishaji ,no need to grind dal. You can soak which helps to cook faster and fuller. Mix everything except tadka and give 2 whistles the imli will make sure vegetables do not turn mushy. Ginger and Gobi shouldn't be added to sambhar. In tadka you can add onions and garlic and pour on top. For Udupi sambar powder badishep(fennel seeds) and gur mix it well at the end bring to one boil. Switch off.kadipatta must in sambhar you could add with vegetables. Because it is not available all seasons we add a good amount in the sambhar powder itself. Kadipatta to be dried in shade to keep the green colour.

Though Nisha mam is an expert.
But I'll love to share one of my experience.Last time when I was cooking sambhar , i used the same pan in which I roasted peanuts for chutney . Believe me , the taste of sambhar was enhanced and it turned out very delicious. You guys càn try it too 😋❤
