There was an actual game music soundtrack released for Wizardry V in Japan although I've never personally seen it; only heard it. You can find the MP3s online if you search but the rip of track 1 (opening theme) is not complete! :( However, it truly is a work of art and does wonders at raising the hair on the back of your neck with its ominous tones, clock tower chimes as if time is running out, and other melodies as it ramps up in the beginning. Really awesome stuff.
Very surprised to see that no one else (on the entire Internet??) has pointed out that the main theme of this is almost identical to Benjamin Britten's "Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra", particularly stark when listening to the OST.
@@richardisted3703 Oh wow, neat. I did look into it and it appears to be from Purcell's "Rondeau" from Abdelazer, but thanks for sending me down the Purcell path. Amazing how many video game themes are inspired by classical themes like these.
@@andrewmoin6613 Just as complement: On the CD boxes of Wizardry V, Haneda (the composer of the ost) confesses he used this theme as a tribute for Purcell
By far one of the greatest themes ever composed for a game. I don't think I've ever heard anything come close to capturing it's majesty.

Kentaro's music would've been interesting on Wiz 7 and 8.

admoin well actually Britten took the theme he used in Young Person's from Purcell's opera the Fairy Queen.....
