The WDG 4 successful two decades monsters are silent howling speedsters with amazing long load of goods trailers. Even WDP4 and WDP4D versions will also be sent out because railways opting for Electrification totally and these EMDs will be seen only in Guwahati loco sheds. Even Rajasthan and Punjab Diesel areas are shrinking past while Guntakkal and Maula Ali shed areas are totally electrified now. We will see few of the WDPs also for shunting work soon and surviving WDS locos will be phased out . They are also beauties and smart and smarter than WAP7 and WAG9 in all sense. Thanks

You reversed the play mode just to make it funny? The hosur station scene. People crossed the tracks post the engine passed by (obviously this crossing is an illegal act) but in your video it seems as if the people are walking backwards infront of the incoming engine. And you even term it as long hood mode, while the engine is actually moving forward on the clear view side.
Infact its a good news. What should railways do by keeping EMDs when route is electrified as they are neither efficient nor can do high speeds with long haul rakes compared to WAG-9. Atleast if they convert it will be of some use in DFC. In place of 2 EMDs a single WAG-9H can haul a particular long haul rake with above 90 kmph. Even in passenger trains a EMD struggle to do even 90 kmph with 24 coach train. So conversion is better instead of scrapping them

HP doesn't matter , diesels have more torque and a single can pull 100 cargo easily while a single WAG9 can haul 60 cause of low torque and axle load
