Hi! About the sunflower seeds... you are meant to crack it open and peel the seed. It is much better and if you don't want to deal with that you can always find in the supermarkets already peeled sunflower seed, but make sure to buy the ones that are roasted and salted. The natural sunflower seeds are more for smoothies, salads etc. The roasted and salted are the ones for snacking, usually. 😁

Caise is apricots. I like Magura with chocolate.
Salam de biscuiti is biscuits salami. Some people make it at home. I do and I'm a guy. It's a very simple recipe, no rum.
Napolitane is wafers. Pufuleti are corn-puff snacks.
Sunflower seeds are supposed to be cracked one by one between your teeth, you eat the seed and throw away the rest. People usually eat seeds on football stadiums, for example.
My mom loves halva. It's mainly made out of sunflower seeds plus some other flavours.
We are used with the Eugenia filling since we are kids. So we do not find it too strong.

Hi! About the sunflower seeds.... you are supposed to eat the inside core, without the shell. You can do it by using your fingers to
peel them off or break them into your mouth using your tongue and teeth, spiting the shell out. They are very nice freshly roasted and salted.

  • @mistermudpie

Best sunflower seed are Tadim the red pack
Best corn puffs with cheese, Lidl own brand that come in a blue bag
    Best wafer Dare
Best eugenia biscuits Germino, i think they have a rum free version (but i'm romanian and i can't tell) as well as one with lemon cream
Might want to try Tortulet de biscuiti (Tiny biscuit cake) from Boromir, serve it cold, so you might want to keep it in the fridge for a few hours, it doesn't taste that good when it's at room temperature or warmer, it also has rum flavor in it but if its cold the taste is much milder

Salam de biscuit comes in a lot of brands and shapes and it's hard to find one brand that you would love.
Also, ask maybe a Romanian to give you a "chocolată de casă" or a home chocolate bar. It is a kind of soft chocolate in a bad bar that can be made at home without baking.

The biscuit salami is called that because when you make it at home, you make it shaped like salami and it looks just like it because of the biscuits scattered around everywhere. I wonder if you would like it without the rum. Also, you haaave to try filled nuts I think. They are sweet nuts with chocolate cream in between

But please don't try it just once and maybe be done with it. It can also depend on the person who made them / cooked them. But they are often hits and less misses :D

“Eugenia” is a low quality product that is a pair of biscuits with cream in between, think about “eugenia” like the granddad’s of Oreo, etc.
“Pufuleți” are basically puff’s, made from corn flour , some are tasteless, some have different flavours. Is a toddler’s snack / young child cause they melt in your mouth, etc. Some of the stuff u guys tried are made from a mix of seeds with other ingredients ( mainly sugar and a weird combination of flavours).

Ciocolata de casa (or batonul copilariei which translates as home made chocolate or the childhood bar) is nice, but it depends on the brand. Most brands add loads of rum essence to it. I don’t mind cause I’m used to it, but I can imagine that not everyone likes it. I’d say it’s very similar to fudge, although a different kind of sweetness and more milky. I prefer to make my own rather than buy it. Sometimes you find really good ones at the Christmas markets.
    I love your pronunciation ☺️

There is fagaras chocolate bar, Poiana chocolate, africana with coconuts chocolate(aparently without to know kandia is also a romania product starting company- but they got bought in 2010 by americans), there is alka products: toortizi, alka wafes in chocolate.
For me best candies i remember and grow with are: sugus ( you should taste them- fruit-flavored caramels). I also like mamba candies in this area.
There is some candies called: "Negro", is actually something i like to consume, they are close to the area i live, because we neighbours with Hungary.
Most of chocolate bars, brands we like: mars, bounty, twix, kinder, snickers, lion.
For sunflower seeds, i recommend those from nutline with salty flavour. Maybe doesn't look like such a clean snack, since you have to crack and throw that like at peanuts.
    I mostly like fistic(pistachio).

I saw a video where you said that we have a lot of variety of ice creams, I would recommend you to look for a store is called Kaufland and you can find there ice cream with nuts ( 🥜 ) which is AMAZING 😻.

The cheese flavor is Cașcaval cheese which is a typical yellow cheese in Romania and the whole of Balcans....related to Italian Cacciocavalo cheese
Cașcaval can be made fom sheep"s milk or cow milk. Cașcaval de Dobrogea is a typcical specialty from the Dobrogea region which includes Consțanța.

Okay... I'm late to this taste party, but still.. for future reference: pufuleti Star... lemme tell you about those... no, they're not paying me ( I wish) to talk them up, but so far, I didn't get a dud from them... I tried the "pufuleti saltareti" (plain salt), "Krax"( those taste like bacon and are crunchy), the ones with peanuts really taste like peanuts, and the ones with pizza flavor... they're all yummy, but the house favorites are the ones with cheese. Now the discs you tried, don't know which assortment and brand they were, but the ones with cheese are really good.. and don't go in expecting ice cream cone texture.. it's not really a wafer, it's actually closer to a cracker/saltine type, and if they're home made, there's a special press you put them in and they really do the trick at parties because they go with both beer and soda pop. Speaking of which, Mirinda is delish, if you drink the less adventurous flavors, like grape, orange or... okay the one with kiwi is pretty good, but I think that one was mostly nostalgia ( way back we had this soda called Rio Kiwi and it was a hit when I was a kid); don't you guys have Mirinda in the UK? It's part of the Pepsi family, along with 7Up and I think Mountain Dew too. OMG did you just eat the sunflower seeds with the shell on? Yuck... I used to try that as a kid and it tasted funny and felt like a million tiny needles on my tongue. The "Eugenia" comes from various brands nowadays, but the one that hit closest to home for me is from "Hanul Boieresc", a store brand ( Penny Market), and those have a good biscuit to cream ratio, and the texture is just right and thus, the flavor is exactly how it should be ( my parents agree that it tastes just like back in the day soo...); The halva. I tried several brands, some have cleaner ingredients, some are pure garbage, but the taste is always decent; ROM, has kinda lost its charm for a few years now, because it's just not what/like it used to be; same with JOE, it used to be so good, you couldn't stop eating those little mother truckers ( they came in bite size too and when we were expecting guests, my mom had to buy several bags to ensure they'd get to have some too LOL), but now a store brand wafer tastes better than the uber generic taste this one has. Yes, I was alive and a kid when the good sweets and snacks were so good, they were considered a treat, now I prefer the knock offs, because not only are they cheaper, but also often made with cleaner ingredients and conflict free chocolate. And don't take my word for it.. take a peep at the wrappers when you go shopping. It's all there in the fine print.
