Jason's look at 13:47 is one of the best moments of the series! Jon Boy's reaction when he finds ou Mary Ellen inadvertently sold the typewriter is also great! The good nights when everyone is arguing is hilarious!
Thomas was so good in this role as John boy Junior wow no one can ever play that role again or any of the characters in The waltons the best program ever on TV a shame that we will not see a s series like that. I I see this chill everyday and become sad when my two programs are over which is The waltons but and then I see Little House on the prairie another program that was good wow.!

I loved this show when I was a kid back then. Came from a big family and was poor, but our family was dysfunctional. Not like this. Probably why I liked it so much.
Yeah, I kinda felt bad for him because he was the oldest and basically had to be the third parent. It seemed like Olivia put a lot of pressure on him and she didn’t even realize it. In the Christmas special, she didn’t like how he locked himself in his room. Like he said, he just wanted some privacy. I understand he needs to be a role models for his younger siblings but seemed like he couldn’t really be a kid sometimes. I’m on the first season still but that’s just my viewpoint.
lol I love the Baldwin sister so much they could adopt me anytime ha ha the look on Olivia face was priceless here was these sweet old ladies wanting to adopt Jason as a teenager with him having permission to come home whenever he wants and work on the "recipe" which Olivia is against lol
In fairness, he thought he would have to replace it so I don't blame him for being mad but I hated his character when I watched it originally because of things like this. He always acted superior to his siblings, even the ones close in age to him. And this episode reminded me of the Brady Bunch one where Cindy sells Marcia's diary left in the garage to the junkman.
I am currently watching the Walton's TV Show DVD's I'm renting them from my Local Library Season by Season and enjoying them 😊💙❤️ Tremendously! If The Walton's are still having Reunion's I hope that I am able 😊 to be informed so I can go to one of them. Sincerely, A Walton's TV Show Fan Barbara Patterson.
I would to love to see a cream pie fight between the Walton kids. Ben and Erin would start a fight and Erin throw a pie in Ben's face. Jason would laugh and then get a pie in the face from Ben, Jason and Ben would get into a fight. Mary Ellen would get a pie in the face from Jason or Ben and so on. Grandma Walton would tell the children to "stop all that foolishness."
Michael learned (Olivia ) said in interview once that the scenes at kitchen table took hours to film and the kids wouldn't cooperate and that she hated it lol, they threw food constantly and she still made it believable that they were a happy family . 😀😀
sapphibee Wow. I checked out your comment and I am watching the Waltons on it. I have never even heard of that website. Thanks a bunch! The Waltons is the best! You made my day.
Mary Ellen had no right to sell that typewriter...she was always so greedy for money.John Boy needed a sedative the size of a pancake, he was so wired.I don't know why they didn't call him 'junior' or 'John junior'.I never heard of anyone called 'boy' after their name.
"The Search" season 4. Olivia took Jim Bob and Elizabeth to visit a friend but there was a turn off in the road, a tire blew and they were stranded, then they got lost. The nasty woman and her family were bootleggers and they were afraid the police would catch them.
John Boy, John Boy. Everything was about John Boy and his needs. Never liked him so much. So selfish. Only one who had a room to himself. The rest had to share even when they became older. They never were appreciated the way he was.
I think because the house of Waltons family wasn't so big. Then they've to share the room each other. I have older brother that has his own room same as John Boy and my older sister has to share her room for me. I dont think it's good if a guy has to share the room with his younger sister
Both are from the first season. The first is "The Typewriter", John Boy borrows a typewriter from the Baldwin ladies because his story was not accepted in longhand. The other is "The Scholar" where John Boy teaches Verdie how to read and write, the scene is from the sub-plot where Erin had her tonsils out.
especially about him with the typewriter, he was acting like a child and didn't care about Mary-Ellen's guilt over about selling it by accident. Men are so typical about the small stuff.

I'm sorry, but I never liked it. My Grandparents grew up far differently in the country during the Depression, When this show would come on tv, they would just shake their heads and tell everybody that not everyone grew up like that. 1 of my Grandmothers was the only girl of 9 kids. She said the way they grew up she was raised to be an independent thinker, do'er, wasn't under the thumb of her older brothers, she was taught how to drive when she was 12, fix things, handle firearms, hunt, everything her brothers were taught and the boys were taught how to cook, sew, ( if the guys had holes in their clothes, they were handed a needle and thread, said you know how to do it) knit, crochet and were told that no, the world does not revolve around them just because they were guys. My Great grandparents even told them you will thank us later,, and they all did for the equal raising of them. My grandmother went onto join The USMC when Pearl Harbor was bombed, served as a pilot, then D.I. Got married after the war, used her benefits to go to college where she took Business courses, her and my grandfather ( who was a bombardier during the war and also used his bennies to go to college ) started their own successful business, bought their own home, had my mom and aunt, taught them the way she was taught. As I look back on how ridiculous it was, especially the John Boy character and the Grandmother character. John Boy being the utmost ridiculous out of everyone else. I wonder if he ever apologized to his siblings, especially Mary Ellen for his being the overbearing, authoritarian, sexist, entitled BRAT that he was. And who refers to their siblings like an outsider, calls them " The children"
How fortunate to have come of age and then some with this beloved, well cast, and well crafted TV drama.
Agreed. So many good shows back then.
Jason's look at 13:47 is one of the best moments of the series! Jon Boy's reaction when he finds ou Mary Ellen inadvertently sold the typewriter is also great! The good nights when everyone is arguing is hilarious!

Beautiful show i loved it since the 70.s
Olivia: "Jason Walton, am I to understand you've been helping them make the recipe?"
Jason, barely audible: "Yes, Mama."
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Now remember: That's "Jason Walton Baldwin."
Right now I'm seeing on line the episode of Johnboy catching Jombob running away.

I enjoyed these clips very much !! Thank you !
Goodness John Boy was awfully determined to become a writer.
I love the Waltons and funny when he saying it'd be a miracle if I live to be a man in this family that was so funny
My favorite show, this and Andy Griffith
What an excellent job----thank you very much!

“We’re not giving up any of our children this year” .....hahahah
iLovo you .the waltons
That's very nice, ladies, but we're not giving up any of our children this year. 😂😂😂
I always wanted an older brother like John Boy. He called his little sister "honey" and "sweetheart". My older brother calls me "dog".
;bbn:k
This made me laugh but honestly, it's partly your parents's fault for letting him do it.
😂😂😂😂 Sorry I busted out laughing when I read this. You’re not the only one though.
I loved this show when I was a kid back then. Came from a big family and was poor, but our family was dysfunctional. Not like this. Probably why I liked it so much.
I’m sorry he called you that! Not nice to say!
Elizabeth @ 8:22: "Who's winning, Jason?"
Jason @ 8:25: "Ben's winning, Elizabeth."
Haha! That always cracks me up!
After the fight was escalating, it was so cute the way she called for John and Olivia !! 😂😊
7:48 was hilarious! GO JOHN!!
That was from season 4, episode 12 The Estrangement. It was awesome!!!

Hello Barbara how are you doing today?
John Boy sure has a lot of temper tantrums, hehe XD
I think at one time or another they all had a temper tantrum or two, including the adults!!😂
Yeah, and sure he was upset about the typewriter, but he acted like a child when he took the news.
In fairness, he thought he would have to replace it so I don't blame him for being mad but I hated his character when I watched it originally because of things like this.
